Introducing the Velociped team

Of course, there are a lot of interesting people and stories behind Velociped. We enjoy working as a team, taking lunch breaks together and celebrating together from time to time, and dogs are also allowed in our office. Sounds fantastic? It is! So that you can get to know us even better, we'll tell you a little about our areas of responsibility and also a little about our private hobbies. Hobby number one is, of course, cycling.

Introducing the **Velociped team**

Who are we? - These are the people behind the Velociped label

Management

Anja Benndorf and Daniela Scheiler are the managing director, who is also responsible for the product and finances, and deputy managing director in charge of marketing and logistics. Both love cycling.

Anja's favourite trip is the one through southern Dalmatia by bike and boat, because she likes summer, sun, the south, islands, boats and swimming. All of this combined with cycle tours, and this cycle tour is perfect for her! Besides cycling, Anja simply loves her garden and gardening.

Daniela grew up in the flat Münsterland region. So it's no wonder that her favourite is the cycle tour through the Münsterland! Along rivers, through forests and across fields, and last but not least along the Pättkes, the winding paths in the Münsterland. For Daniela, this is relaxation par excellence. Daniela's hobbies are cycling - no wonder, she comes from the Münsterland - playing badminton and swimming.

Product management and marketing

Our product manager is Carolin Krautwald. She is also responsible for hotel purchasing.

Carolin particularly loves the Moselle cycle path, because she is fascinated by the bends and loops of the river and the steepest vineyards in Europe, such as the Calmund. And then there are the romantic little villages. Cycling and fitness are her hobbies, and last but not least: her dog Benji, a Bernese Mountain Dog-Hovawart mix.

Katrin Gierlinger is responsible for marketing on our website and for logistics. Katrin is particularly fond of Lake Constance, especially in spring, when its shores are a veritable sea of flowers. She finds the boat trip to the thundering Rhine Falls in Schaffhausen, the largest waterfall in Europe, unbelievably fantastic. Her absolute favourite trip with Velociped is therefore the Lake Constance round trip with the Schaffhausen Rhine Falls. Apart from cycling tours on Lake Constance and elsewhere, Katrin loves walking in the woods, hiking and reading.

Customer service

Should you require customer advice, you will meet our friendly staff Steffi Groß, Siri Nuphim, Nicole Janke, Christine Jockel and Frank Natz.

Steffi is there for your reservations if you are travelling to the Lahn, the Rhine, the Elbe, Berlin or Eastern Europe. Steffi's favourite tour is the winegrowers' tour on the Rhine. The perfect combination of many sights such as the incredibly magnificent blooming roses in Eltville, the Gutenberg Museum in Mainz with the oldest Bibles in the world or the Salinental in Bad Kreuznach, an open-air inhalatorium with fresh salty air like by the sea and a good glass of wine makes this cycle tour a well-rounded experience. You've probably already guessed it: Steffi loves travelling and is a real explorer. She also loves listening to music.

Siri's favourite trip also takes her along a river, namely the Weser. She thinks it's a great way to get to know Germany from all sides and particularly likes the half-timbered houses with their different coloured facades and intricate carvings. She also enjoys roaming the neighbourhood with her dog Tequila, an Australian Shepard. Siri makes the bookings for the Münsterland, the Weser and Main cycle paths, the Baltic Sea and Northern Europe.

Christine makes your reservations for trips to the Moselle or the Saar. Her favourite trip is to Veneto, on a tour with Charme Hotels. She simply loves the exciting architecture of Palladio's villas or the wooden bridge over the Brenta in Bassano del Grappa. In addition, there are very different landscapes between the Alps and the Adriatic Sea and selected beautiful charm hotels for the night. Perfect for Christine: the Veneto round tour with Charme Hotels. In addition to cycling, she enjoys crossfit workouts.

Nicole is more drawn to the south, specifically to South Tyrol. She loves the combination of the Alps standing proudly in the background, Mediterranean vegetation, deep blue lakes and pretty villages with geraniums nodding in the wind. She also loves the South Tyrolean specialities! After all, her hobby is cooking and she gets a lot of inspiration for this in South Tyrol. And that's why her favourite trip is called ‘South Tyrol: from Brixen to Meran’. At Velociped, she can help you with bookings for the Moselle or the Ruhr region and, of course, for Italy and Austria.

Frank has fallen in love with the German section of the Danube, because he finds the small trickle at the beginning, which will one day become the big river, quite fascinating. The young Danube also runs through interesting landscapes and eventually passes majestic palaces, castles and monasteries. For Frank, ‘The German Danube from the spring to Donauwörth’ is the cycling highlight par excellence.

Backoffice

Björn Kleinert sits in the back office, taking care of the dispatch of travel documents and the Velociped app.

If you were to ask him about his favourite tour, it would come out of the blue: The Ruhr Valley cycle path. He was born in the Sauerland region and has loved this area since he was a child. He particularly appreciates the magnificent mixture of diverse, green nature and exciting towns with rough edges. In addition to cycling, Björn loves medieval and fantasy markets and enjoys gaming.

Accounting

Elke Schmidtke, Roswitha Stadtmüller and Eleni Benndorf take care of the bookkeeping at Velociped. The latter is also in the back office.

Elke likes variety and therefore finds the Lahn cycle path particularly enchanting. Flat stages alternate with lush climbs, green valleys with romantic castles and defiant fortresses high above, plus a dash of industrial history and plenty of culture and sights. This is Elke's perfect cycle tour - and what's more, it's practically on her doorstep. Apart from that, she thinks it's a great place for hiking. Another of her hobbies is aqua jogging.

Radial bike tours are the non-plus-ultra for Roswitha, and she thinks the ‘Radial tour Main around Bamberg’ is particularly great. Why? On the one hand, there are world-famous sights such as the cathedral and beer city of Bamberg, on the other hand, there are many small and unknown places that nobody knows about and, of course, many enchanting beer gardens to take a break from cycling. She thinks the 4-star superior Hotel Residenzschloss, where you stay overnight during the trip, is just great. Roswitha also likes to get off her bike and go hiking.

Eleni's favourite trip is also a radial tour, and it starts in Potsdam: The impressive Sanssouci Palace and many other palaces are just part of what fascinates her. She also likes to cycle along the Wannsee or jump in and visit the historic Mauerpark and Glienicker Brücke. In her opinion, the fact that you can also take a trip to Berlin is the icing on the cake. Nevertheless, you cycle through the countryside often enough. Besides cycling, Eleni's hobby is definitely cooking.

Bike mechanics

Christian Meyer and Fritz Lehmann are in charge of our workshop. Workshop manager Christian is a passionate racing cyclist, which is also his hobby. Mountains are a must! The ‘Black Forest round trip from Freiburg’ suits him perfectly. From the top, he enjoys the sweeping views of the countryside before plunging down again on a long descent. The changing landscapes and towns such as Freiburg, Bad Säckingen and Basel make this trip a personal highlight for him.

Fritz is now travelling on flat terrain: he thinks the Masurian Lake District is a great cycling destination. The water landscapes are his favourite, and he can really immerse himself in the landscape in the nature reserves. After all, enjoying nature is simply his favourite pastime. Culture is not neglected either, as there is plenty of evidence of centuries-old sites. His favourite trip is therefore: Masuria: Bike & Boat.

Our two ‘office dogs’ are called Pia and Ella. The two ladies are with us almost every day and accompany us throughout the day.

We also do a lot of activities together: we organise team events such as after-work barbecues and joint lunches and dinners several times a year.

We enjoy working together so much that it's a must! And we enjoy working for you.

We hope that this has enabled you to get to know us a little better.
