Tour
Travel early, because it's worth it. Potsdam, the former Prussian royal seat, awaits you with unique castles and gardens. Use the first day for a first exploration tour or relax on the terrace of your hotel directly at Lake Templin. In the evening, enjoy a 3-course menu in the hotel restaurant.
Today you will experience Potsdam with its different faces. Over the centuries, architects from all over Europe have left their mark on parts of the city. You cycle through the Russian colony Alexandrowka and the Dutch Quarter. In Babelsberg you will be amazed by the magnificent villas and in the castles Cecilienhof and Sanssouci you can still feel the glamorous history. In the "Forbidden City" , which was once the European headquarters of the KGB, you will learn all about modern history.
In the morning, you first cross the Glienicke Bridge, which used to be used for the exchange of agents between East and West, and thus reach the area between Berlin and Potsdam, which Fontane also traveled. You follow the path along the Havel River to Wannsee Lake. You continue through the Grunewald and on the Havelradweg to Gatow. In Gatow you visit the famous village church from the 13th century. After visiting the castle in Sacrow you cycle back to your hotel.
The first destination today is the village of Caputh. Theodor Fontane was a guest here and Albert Einstein used the place as a summer idyll before emigrating to the USA in 1932. After a stroll through this pretty village on the shores of Lake Schwielow, continue cycling along the lake via Ferch to Petzow. Marvel at the castle, which is characterized by Moorish architecture and the English Tudor style. Afterwards you cycle to the old town of Werder, which is situated on an island. Visit the fruit museum, which tells the story of fruit growing in Havelland. Afterwards, you will return to your hotel in Potsdam on the Havel cycle path.
Take plenty of time today to visit the federal capital Berlin. Discover the Brandenburg Gate, the boulevard "Unter den Linden" and the parliament and government quarter. Walk in the footsteps of recent German history and visit one of the many museums about the fall of the Berlin Wall. The return journey is by bike or comfortably by train (on your own).

Parking facilities at arrival location
The SeeHotel Potsdam has an underground parking garage. The parking fee is approx. 14,00 € per day and car, payable on site. An advance reservation is not possible. You will receive detailed information about the parking facilities at the hotel booked for you with the detailed travel documents two weeks before the start of your trip.
Condition of the cycle paths
You will be cycling mainly on flat cycle paths or lakeside paths. Rarely will the route take you over cobblestones or roads with little traffic.
Extra costs that are not included in the travel price
Any tourist tax and charging fees for bicycle batteries are not included in the tour price and must therefore be paid at the hotel. The possible train journey on day 5 from Berlin to Potsdam is also payable locally. Also not included in the travel price is the use of the SPA area when booking room category B (standard room).

Available rental bikes
We would recommend the 7-speed tourer for all those that are looking for a back-pedal brake and wide gel seat for maximum comfort in an upright sitting position. It is equipped with a simple hub gear shift and is perfectly suited to tours on flat to slightly hilly terrain.
The 27-speed tourer is the best choice for cyclists that value the advantages of the dérailleur gear shift for flexibility whilst going up and down hills. This bike allows you to be a little more active without compromising on saddle comfort and practical everyday suitability.
