The most convenient and easiest way to make a booking is directly via our homepage using the online booking form. An online booking is a binding request. Once we have confirmed your booking, it automatically becomes a firm reservation.
Of course, you can also contact us by email or post to make a booking. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us by phone.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to book by telephone alone. However, we are happy to take your details and requests over the phone. However, in order for us to be able to firmly book your desired trip, we then need a written OK from you.

When you make a booking using the online booking form, you are sending us a binding booking request. We will then book your hotels, organize any rental bikes you have booked, luggage transport, and other included services. Once everything has been arranged, you will automatically receive a booking confirmation and invoice from us.
If, contrary to expectations, your desired date or the requested hotel category is not available, we will offer you an alternative.

It is of course possible to rebook or cancel a booked trip. The exact rebooking and cancellation conditions can be found in our General Terms and Conditions (GTC).

On the individual tours you set your daily itinerary and decide how long you’d like to stay where. We give you a detailed route description as well as tour information and practical tips. If desired, we will also be happy to help you with planning. You will find more information under our tour types.

On the guided group tours you will be looked after by one of our tour guides, who will take care of everything. You simply get on your bike and enjoy a perfectly organised bike tour for 8–20 people. For example, we take care of separate luggage transport and ensure that the guided tour goes smoothly. For more information see tour types.

Are you planning a group tour? A week with your friends, or a weekend with the colleagues? Great! We'll gladly submit you a non-binding tour offer matching with your ideas. You specify the required region and other relevant details, and we compile a tailor-made tour for you. We are, of course, also working actively for you en route.  On request, we transport your luggage and settle all kind of annoying accounts.

Our services guarantee you a smooth and perfectly organised cycling holiday including the consideration of individual requests as to meals. If you are e. g.  vegetarian simply let us know your special wish on the registration form.

With the individual tours you are in control of your own catering, right down to breakfast, meaning that you can stop at selected restaurants to enjoy vegetarian food, for example.

Of course you can ride your own bike. In this case provide that it complies with the following criteria: multiple gears, tyres wide and enough general road safety. In case it breaks down, we will of course see to help you.

The arrival and departure will be organised by yourself. You can choose between the arrival by car, by train or by plane. You will find helpful information how to get to your starting point for your trip under "worth knowing".

Yes, please indicate when booking that you will be taking your bike with you on the return transfer.
If you book a return transfer, your bike will be carefully secured and transported on a bike transport trailer. The trailer offers sufficient space and protection to ensure that your bike arrives safely at its destination.

It is not possible to rebook free of charge due to bad weather. However, we will endeavour to confirm your new travel date depending on hotel availability, but cannot guarantee this.

No problem, we will organise everything for you. You can stay longer at the starting location as well as at the tour destination or even during the tour. The price for additional nights are stated under the respective tour. Simply state in your booking form where and how long you'd wish to stay.

Our travels are our capital. And are our greatest passion. Therefore, we are particularly ambitious and precise with regard to our quality fitting and realisation. In order to cope with this high quality standard, we organise and accompany our tours personally. In addition, we co-operate with selected partners of many years' standing for offering you a still wider range of travels.
You will see whether a tour is an original Velociped tour or a partner tour by the little flag symbol with relevant information on the individual tours.

All our individual tours include our special all-carefree service for individual tours. All detailed services you will find in the paragraph all-carefree service for individual tours. Here we give you a short overview:

The services for each bike tour may vary slightly. Details about the services included can be found in the “Services / Info” section for each tour.

No, because we work on request and book the available partner hotels that we inquire about after receiving your binding booking request.
You are welcome to ask us for a sample hotel list for a desired tour and specify your hotel preferences. We will then try to fulfill them. Alternatively, we will book accommodations of the same standard.

To ensure that you can travel completely carefree at all times, we transport your luggage on all our tours. This applies to both our individual cycling tours and our guided tours. You don't have to worry about a thing, because we make sure that your luggage is waiting for you at your next destination from stage to stage. You drop off your luggage at the reception at 9:00 a.m., our transporter picks it up and brings it to your next hotel by 6:00 p.m. at the latest.

Yes, that is possible. You will receive a discount for this. The exact amount of the discount varies depending on the trip booked. Please ask us about this.

For your comfortable return journey, we offer an optional return transfer for most of our tours. This picks you up directly at your last hotel and takes you comfortably back to the starting point of your tour. So your cycle tour ends relaxed and stress-free.

Breakfast is included on every tour, so that you get a good start to every day of cycling. On many tours you also have the option of booking half board.
On many tours you also have the option of booking half board. En route your catering depends on the type of tour selected:
On the guided group tours the tour guide can organise a nice picnic (weather permitting) or recommend stop-off options. In the evening a table will already be reserved at a restaurant for your group.
On the individual tours you decide yourself where you would like to take a break and have a snack. We can provide you with good restaurant recommendations for your evening meals in advance.

In the event of a medical emergency, please call the emergency services yourself immediately (112).

Outside of medical emergencies, we are available for you during our office hours from 09:00 to 17:30 on our office number (+49 6421 886890) and will deal with your concerns immediately. You can also reach us daily from 08:00 to 20:00 on our emergency number - you will find this in your travel documents. If you have booked a Velociped-Partner-Tour, you will receive the contact details and emergency number of our partner with the travel documents.

If you have any questions or problems on site, please feel free to contact us by phone. During our regular business hours, please call our office number +49 (0) 6421 88689-0. Outside of business hours and on weekends, our 7-day service hotline is available.

The tourist tax is not included in the holiday price. This must be paid directly at the hotel. 
The amount of the visitor's tax varies depending on the region and municipality and is usually between €1.50 and €4.00 per person per night. In some tourist regions, especially in health resorts or popular holiday destinations, the tax may be slightly higher.

Beside the running route, the respective speeds and altitude differences are also crucial factors for an individual sense of well-being. We have marked all of our tours with the corresponding levels of difficulty.

easy+             Very relaxed cycling in mostly flat terrain.

easy to moderate++         Easy cycling, pushing the bike now and then.

moderate+++           For people in a general good shape, a few stretches across more difficult terrain, or pushing the bike.

advanced++++            For experienced bikers, several tracks in hilly terrain.

Velociped Original Tours are perfectly organized, tested, and planned from start to finish by Velociped itself. Original Tours are marked as such on the internet and in the catalog.

Our bike tours are the perfect framework for joint experience and everybody gets on well with us. Not only the destinations and cycle tracks are versatile, but the different levels of difficulty also take individual ideas and conditions into consideration. We have marked all of our tours with the corresponding levels of difficulty (from + easy to ++++ advanced). So, you'll always have a good run with us. There are many routes to reach a destination. The right choice of the routing is decisive for your travel experience.  We have, therefore, put special emphasis on the selection of our tours adapting the routing to current regional changes. Detailed information conerning the stretches you will find in the corresponding description of each tour.

Children are always welcome with us – whether in a booster seat or child transporter, on their own bike or on our sturdy Velociped juvenile bike. Children of all ages can come along on a large number of our tours. And our family plus tours are particularly suited to children and teenagers.

Travel documents may vary depending on the tour. Details can be found under “Services / Info” for each tour.

The digital travel documents contain a digital route book with descriptions of the daily stages, transfers, sights, and places to stop for refreshments along the way in the Velociped app.

You will automatically receive the access data for downloading the booked trip with your hotel list before the start of your trip.

We will send you your travel documents at least 2 weeks before arrival.

Information about the functions of the Velociped app can be found in our services section under “the Velociped bike tour guide (app)”. Along with your digital travel documents, you will also receive instructions for the Velociped app.

For almost all of our trips, we provide our travel documents digitally (via smartphone app with the Velociped Bike Travel Guide and, on request, also as GPS tracks for digital route guidance via smartphone with an app of your choice or on your own GPS device).

For many tours, there is also the option of booking printed documents. They contain the same information that we also provide digitally in our smartphone app (tourist information, route descriptions, recommendations for places to stop for refreshments, sights, and service stations).

Simply indicate your preference when booking.

As the name says, the Velociped tourer is conceived specially for cycling tours. It offers maximum running comfort and highest possible safety, and already had proven excellent performance over thousands of kilometres. For all our bikes we offer a 100% repair service. The tourer will be at your disposal from the tour start, recently checked and exactly fitting your body size. They are manufactured for us by Campus, the experts for high-quality, custom-made bicycles. More information and detailed descriptions of all our bikes and equipment you will find in the paragraph Velociped tourer and equipment.

The rental bikes offered depend on the trip you book. You can find information about the rental bikes offered for each trip.

Depending on the tour, the rental bikes may have different equipment. You will receive information about the rental bikes for each individual trip.

Bike & boat is a special form of cycling tour: you explore the travel region during the day and at the end of your stage, your floating hotel in the form of a river cruise ship awaits you. You go on a cycling tour without having to move and pack your suitcase every day. If you don't feel like cycling, you can also enjoy the landscape from the ship.

You can pay in cash on board most ships, and on many ships you can also pay with major credit cards such as Visa and Mastercard, as well as with EC cards. You will find detailed information on this in your travel documents.

Catering on board consists of a breakfast buffet, a packed lunch for the bike tours, which you can put together yourself at breakfast (if you are on board, you will be given a midday snack instead), and a 3-course meal in the evening. If you are back on the ship in the afternoon, coffee / tea is often served as well. You can find more detailed information in the trip description under “Services / Info.”

If you require a special diet or light meals, or if you wish to eat vegetarian food, please let us know when you book, or at least 14 days before the start of your trip. We will then take your wishes into account as far as possible. You may need to bring any special diet products with you. The surcharge on board is usually around EUR 25 to 50 per person per trip.

On an individual bike tour, you plan and organize your day exactly as you wish. We provide you with detailed maps and information material. On a guided bike tour, you ride together with a local bike tour guide in a group.

In the event of a breakdown, please call the tour guide or captain. They will be happy to help you as quickly as possible. 

Bringing your own bike on bike and boat trips is only possible on request, for a fee, and in limited numbers. We will be happy to request the transport of your own bike from the shipping company when you book your cabin.
Unfortunately, special-sized bikes such as tricycles, tandems, etc. are not allowed on the ships.
