For all-round viewers

On our round trips, you cycle from the starting point once around the region and get to know it very well. At the end, you arrive back where you started. This closes the circle.

Circular tours in Germany

Tours in the far north of Germany

There we offer you four round trips:

  • One bike tour takes you across various East Frisian islands, more precisely from the North Sea town of Husum via Föhr and Amrum, always with the wind in your hair. On another tour, you cycle once around East Frisia: Starting and ending in Oldenburg, you will encounter sailors' yarns, tea with cream and rock sugar, and East Frisian chieftain castles.
  • Fans of the Baltic Sea will enjoy the tour that takes you across the beautiful Baltic Sea islands of Hiddensee, Rügen, and Usedom. The tour starts and ends in the UNESCO city of Stralsund with its fascinating Meers Museum. Let's drink to that with some sea buckthorn liqueur!
  • Our tours in the north are rounded off by the cycling tour in the Lüneburg Heath. The tour starts in Lüneburg, and then you cycle through purple and violet flowering heathland, the Südheide Nature Park, past the Hundertwasser railway station and 480 half-timbered houses in Celle, until you arrive back in Lüneburg.
Beach promenade on Norderney with white beach hut, colorful flags, bicycles and visitors on green grass under blue sky with white clouds.

West German circles

  • Starting in the cathedral city of Aachen, you can embark on a sporty tour along two rivers (the Rur and the Meuse) and through three countries (Belgium, Germany, and the Netherlands). You will also cycle along the Vennbahn railway line cycle path.
  • Cologne and the Rhine are not to be missed: this circular route takes you from Cologne through the Rhineland in all its splendor. Düsseldorf and Bonn, natural paradises and UNESCO World Heritage Sites, lie along the way and make this trip a real highlight.
  • From and to Münster, you will cycle through the Münsterland, a cyclist's paradise par excellence with its Pättkes, small country lanes. On this tour, you will even cycle to the Netherlands, to magnificent castles and palaces, to vast parklands and through charming little towns.
  • Off to the Ruhr! Experience the Ruhr region with Herne as your starting point and destination. Admire former industrial sites that have been repurposed, visit the gasometer, where you can now dive, the Zollverein Ewald or Nachtigall coal mines, but also marvel at the renaturation and the Ruhr Valley Cycle Route surrounded by greenery.
  • On the winegrowers' tour, you cycle from Rüdesheim am Rhein through four wine-growing regions: Rheinhessen, Rheingau, Nahe, and Mittelrhein. Of course, three wine tastings are a must! Enjoy the fine wines and learn more about vines and Riesling, wine shops, and winegrowers. You will also discover historic towns: Mainz, Kaub, and Bacharach.

Round trips in Eastern Germany

  • On this cycling tour around Berlin, you will travel along the rivers Havel, Oder, and Spree. You can expect pure nature such as the Schorfheide, Europe's largest forest, the Märkische Schweiz, or Lake Werbellin, as well as buildings that will leave you speechless: Oranienburg Palace, the Cistercian monastery in Chorin, and the Niederfinow boat lift, a masterpiece of engineering. You will cycle along well-maintained paths such as the Havel, Oder-Neisse, Oderbruchbahn, and Europa-Radweg R1 cycle routes, as well as the Berlin Wall Trail.
  • There are plenty of lakes on our wonderful Mecklenburg Lakes Tour. In the land of a thousand lakes, you will cycle from/to Waren an der Müritz through the Müritz National Park with its UNESCO World Heritage beech forests. You will see fish and sea eagles as well as cranes, discover castles and historic towns such as Neustrelitz, Wesenberg, and the island town of Malchow.
  • Cucumbers and boats accompany you on your bike tour through the Spreewald. You start in Cottbus with its unique park landscape and two pyramids, and from there you naturally ride to the cucumber museum, a stork village, and the Sorbian cultural center Burg. You will cycle through the idyllic landscape along watercourses and streams and over typical wooden bridges. And you will also climb into a punt and take a trip.
  • On our Dresden Rivers Tour, you will cycle along three rivers. The Elbe, Spree, and Neisse rivers offer well-developed bike paths to sights such as the UNESCO World Heritage Site Muskauer Park, the picturesque old town of Görlitz, baroque buildings, and unique art. Nature is not neglected either, as you will pass the bizarrely shaped Elbe Sandstone Mountains and the Lusatian Lake District before returning to Dresden, the Florence of the Elbe, where you can treat yourself to a bowl of Heeßen (meaning coffee), as they say in Saxon.

Southern circular routes

  • In southern Germany, tours often cross borders, as is the case with our Lake Constance Tour: Classic with Charm, where you will visit three countries: Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. In addition to enjoying a wonderful tour with views of the three-country lake and the towering mountains. From the cultural city of Constance, you will travel to pretty Merseburg, Bregenz with its impressive lake stage, and Lindau, where the Bavarian lion carved in stone guards the harbor entrance.
  • You will visit Germany and Switzerland on the round trip through the Black Forest from/to Freiburg. The Upper Rhine and Upper Black Forest, Titisee and Wutach Gorge, and the Markgräfler Land offer a wonderful mix of nature, landscape, and city life with culture. You will also stop in the tri-border city of Basel with its magnificent medieval old town and interesting art museums.
  • The Five Rivers Tour takes you through Bavaria along the Ludwig-Danube-Main Canal, the Altmühl, Danube, Naab, Vils, and Pegnitz rivers. Beer is a must, of course, and you will visit Nuremberg with its Schanzenbräu brewery, Amberg with Lammsbräu, the Cittá Slow Hersbruck, where you can slow down and enjoy Bürgerbräu beer, and of course Weltenburg Abbey, where the famous Weltenburger Barock Dunkel flows from the tap in the monastery tavern of Germany's oldest monastery. Cheers!
  • Also located in the white and blue Bavarian countryside is the round trip through Chiemgau and Berchtesgadener Land. You start your journey right at Lake Chiemsee before cycling towards Reit im Winkl, with the Alps forming a guard of honor, then on to Bad Reichenhall with its interesting salt mine and Königssee, where the Watzmann mountain beckons. You don't have to go up, you can stay down below and continue on to beautiful Salzburg in Austria and Mozart! Will one or two Mozartkugeln disappear into your panniers?
  • We're staying in Bavaria. Our fifth cycling tour takes you to the Bavarian lakes Ammer, Wörth, and Forggen, and along the Romantic Road to Füssen in the Allgäu with the fairytale castle Neuschwanstein, through the Pfaffenwinkel, to the baroque Wieskirche, and finally back to the starting point in the Fugger city of Augsburg.

Round trips in Northern and Central Europe

  • The round trip in Scotland takes you by bike and ship on the tall ship Flying Dutchman from/to Oban via the Inner Hebrides and into the Highlands. Jura, Oban? For whisky connoisseurs, this sounds like music to their ears. Add to that a few cozy pubs and bagpipe music. And on top of that, there's pure nature: watch seals, otters, dolphins, eagles, and red deer, and let yourself be enchanted by the wild island of Mull.
  • In and around Stockholm, you'll ride our Swedish round trip, which is also a star bike tour. In the Venice of the North, as Stockholm is also known, you can cycle across 14 islands and 53 bridges. You can also explore the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Drottningholm Palace and Skogskyrkogarden Forest Cemetery by bike. And the route takes you through the wonderful archipelago.
  • You will cycle around the Little Belt in Denmark. You will even cross it and ride to the fairytale island of Funen, where you can learn all about Hans Christian Andersen's magical world. Your other stops are Sønderborg on the Flensburg Fjord, Åbenrå, Haderslev, and Christiansfeld, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as well as the island of Als.
Aerial view of Gamlastan harbour in Stockholm with the Royal Palace and historic buildings illuminated at sunset, boats moored in the water.
  • On this round trip, you will circle the IJsselmeer, which is actually the largest lake in the Netherlands, starting and ending in Harderwijk with its picturesque medieval old town. During the cycling tour, you can watch the sailors and windsurfers on the “sea,” visit small fishing villages, perhaps sample some cheese in Edam, and visit the imposing fortress of Naarden. In Amsterdam, you should take a canal cruise and visit the world-famous Rijksmuseum with its wonderful paintings, or simply drift through the alleys.
  • It's hard to believe, but you can even take a trip along the royal Loire in France. Here, of course, it's all about castles. Famous names such as Blois, where you start, Amboise, Villandry, Ussé, Chenonceau, Chaumont, and Chambord line your route like pearls on a string. And there is no shortage of rivers either: along the Loire, Cher, Indre, and Vienne, for example, you can also cycle to Michelangelo's last residence. You will enjoy Loire wines such as Muscadet. There is so much to discover here!
  • Ten lakes – that's unbeatable! In just one week, you can cycle around the Austrian lakes in the Salzkammergut, including Lake Atter, Lake Traun, Lake Hallstatt, and Lake Wolfgang. You can sample Mozartkugeln at Lake Wolfgang, and in Salzburg too, of course. There, (almost) everything revolves around the city's famous son. Music is also in the air in Oberndorf, where the Christmas carol “Silent Night” was written.
  • Grüezi! You'll also discover plenty of lakes on your circular cycling tour through Switzerland. Starting in Constance on Lake Constance, the three-country lake, you will cycle (and also take a boat and a cog railway) to Zurich, Lake Zurich and Lake Walen, the princely Liechtenstein, where you will be greeted with “Hoi!”, to Schaffhausen with its pretty old town, to Vaduz, St. Gallen, back to Lake Constance, and finally back to Constance. What a tour!

Round things in Southern Europe and overseas

  • Lake Garda, a place of longing since time immemorial, is of course a must-see. In the land where lemons bloom, you can cycle along the shores of the blue water and into the hinterland to other lakes. From Desenzano, visit Sirmione, Peschiera, Torbole, Garda, and more. Old villas, a castle, an azure sky and a deep blue lake. Bellissimo! Sip a glass of Lugana or treat yourself to a gelato. Perhaps you'll also climb the 30-meter-high clock tower, the Torre Aponale, in Riva. The reward is an incomparable view over Riva's old town and the sparkling lake. You will also cycle through the Sarca Valley, where the warm winds allow the northernmost olive trees to thrive.
  • By bike and boat, namely the MS San Nova, this tour takes you through Dalmatia, located in southern Croatia. Your journey begins in beautiful Trogir with its historic old town, which has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore the islands of Šolta, Vis, Korčula, Hvar, Brač with its Golden Horn, a unique pebble beach surrounded by turquoise blue, clear sea water, and Čiovo, as well as Split, the pearl and secret capital of Dalmatia.
  • On the deluxe ship Erato, you will embark on an e-bike and ship tour of the Greek Cyclades and around the Saronic Gulf. Explore rugged islands with impressive rock formations as well as those with sprawling sandy beaches, crystal-clear water, ancient ruins and temples, monasteries, and last but not least, the Acropolis in Athens.
Picturesque coastal village on Solta island with stone houses along the waterfront, a white boat in the bay, and lush green vegetation.
  • A leisurely tour takes you through northern Portugal, which means that the gentle route of just a few kilometers allows you to take your time and enjoy all the beautiful things along the way: Visit the port wine cellars on the Douro in Porto, cycle along the idyllic Minho River to the Spanish border and into the impressive Peneda-Gerês National Park, past vineyards (a tasting break is a must), on fantastically developed railway cycle paths, on cycle paths along the Atlantic Ocean and partly on wooden paths on stilts.
  • On the Spanish Balearic island of Mallorca, you can cycle from/to Playa de Palma and explore not only the sand and beach, but also the beautiful island capital of Palma with its imposing cathedral, fishing villages, the Dragon Caves with their stalagmites and stalactites, the Lluc monastery, and with the Tren de Sóller, a small train, and an old tram, you rattle your way to Port de Sóller.
  • This journey takes you far away to the Caribbean, to Cuba, by bicycle. You will find tobacco on the plantations and in the factories in the Viñales Valley. You should definitely try rum and Cuba Libre at the Hemingway Bar in Havana. Dance salsa in Trinidad, Cienfuegos, and Jobacoa, where a beautiful beach also awaits you. Your questions - our answers

Sorry! No FAQs were found. Please try again with a new search term.

On a round trip, the starting point and the ending point are the same. This means you return to your original starting location after several days of travel.

Round trips are especially ideal for guests traveling by car. As the first and last overnight stay take place in the same location, you can start your journey home directly after breakfast. There is no need to return to the starting point by transfer or public transportation.

As a rule, we ensure that the starting hotel is also the final hotel of your tour, making your return journey as convenient as possible.
If this is not possible in exceptional cases, we will of course inform you in advance.

In many hotels, it is possible to park your car for the entire duration of the trip on a hotel-owned parking lot for a fee. Alternatively, we always provide additional parking options in the travel documents.
Detailed information will be included in your travel documents.
