Cycling holidays for the whole family with kids & co.? Yes, they do exist! Here, we pay special attention to short stages combined with plenty of exciting highlights for fun, games, and relaxation. That’s when the joy really begins – because you’ll spend a truly wonderful time together.
Family cycling along the Baltic Sea works like this: you all ride together along the flat coastline from Warnemünde to Stralsund. The stages are short (20–36 kilometers), so no one feels overwhelmed and there’s plenty of time to enjoy all the exciting highlights along the way.
Visit the zoo in Rostock, explore the OZEANEUM, discover the Darß Forest, or build sandcastles on the beach. And if the weather doesn’t cooperate, simply head to the HanseDom adventure and leisure park with its water world – something you shouldn’t miss anyway.
We also stay close to the water on our family tour around Lake Constance, which takes you through Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. So it’s Grüß Gott, Servus, and Grüezi on this mostly flat cycling holiday, where you’ll also hop on a boat and take a cable car ride up to the Pfänder mountain. Other highlights along the way include Constance, the flower island of Mainau, Meersburg Castle, the Pile Dwelling Museum in Unteruhldingen, the Zeppelin Museum in Friedrichshafen, and Lindau. Jump together off the pier of a traditional “Badi” (lido) straight into the water. Splash!
Another family tour at Lake Constance takes you around the Obersee section. From Constance back to Constance, you’ll cycle almost all the way around this “three-country sea.” Here stands the Imperia, a nine-meter-high sculpture depicting a Roman courtesan. In her outstretched hands she holds two small figures symbolizing the Emperor and the Pope, complete with their respective insignia. Be sure to visit the Sea Life Center with its fascinating marine life – the kids will be amazed!
Along the Danube from Passau to Vienna, we offer something truly special: a farm tour. This means you’ll spend the night on working farms, riding stables, and wineries – with plenty of opportunities to meet and pet the animals. Horses, donkeys, dogs and cats, sheep and cows – you’ll meet them all. To keep the trip relaxed, you can shorten some stages by train or bus from time to time. That way, there’s still plenty of time to enjoy the many sights and fun play opportunities along the route. Hooray!
Are you drawn more to the south and the sea? Here you go. Cruise through southern Dalmatia in Croatia aboard the MS San Snova, a beautiful wooden motor yacht.
