Spring at Velociped

From Berlin to Frankfurt and Wetzlar – we’ve been out and about for you, testing, discovering and, of course, having a bit of fun too.

What’s been going on here over the last few weeks?

Berlin calling – ITB & bike station Potsdam

The first major highlight of the year? Without a doubt: ITB in Berlin – the world’s largest tourism trade fair. Katrin, Christine and Anja set off early on Monday. And, as is customary for Velociped: with 13 bikes in tow. First stop: our bike station in Potsdam – this is where our tours around Berlin and the Potsdam radial tour set off from. After that, we headed to the hotel in Spandau. A short stroll through the old town, a Vietnamese dinner and a nightcap at the hotel bar – a perfect start!

ITB – Inspiration from all over the world

After breakfast, it was off to Messe Berlin. And it was immediately clear – this is where the whole world comes together. Cultures, countries, ideas – all in one place. Amidst a busy schedule of meetings with our partners, there was also time for inspiring discussions about the latest developments in tourism.

A real highlight: on Wednesday evening, we were able to officially celebrate our Travelife partner status. Katrin accepted the certificate on behalf of Velociped – a special moment for all of us. And honestly? Seeing how many companies worldwide are working on sustainable tourism has confirmed once again that we are on the right track.

Wetzlar – A hotel tour with a touch of indulgence

Miriam and Anja were also out and about on your behalf – this time in Wetzlar. The occasion: the reopening of the newly refurbished restaurant at the Hotel Wetzlarer Hof. Naturally, a tour of the lobby, breakfast room and guest rooms was a must. And afterwards? Prosecco, good food and a relaxed chat with our long-standing partner on the River Lahn. That’s how a hotel tour should be!

Frankfurt – Welcome aboard the MS Casa Nova

Just before Easter, the next highlight was already on the cards: the MS Casa Nova, our new ship on the Main and Neckar rivers, was moored in Frankfurt and ready for a tour. Siri and Anja set off on Maundy Thursday – and were not disappointed: a tour of the cabins, a glimpse into daily life on board, presentations and a sumptuous lunch. The day ended with an early summer Aperol on the sun deck of the MS Casa Nova.

Our conclusion

Working where others go on holiday – combining business with pleasure. The past few weeks have been full of new experiences, encounters and fresh ideas – and that’s exactly what makes our job so special. We look forward to telling you all about our upcoming events soon.
