Start of the 2026 Cycling Travel Season

Only two days to go until the moment we’ve all been waiting for: the first Velociped Original Tours of the 2026 season are about to begin! After the Easter holidays, it’s time to leave the winter jackets behind, hop on the bike and discover the perfect cycling route. After the long winter break, our bikes are ready to roll again and look forward to many unforgettable kilometres together with our guests.

The countdown is on the 2026 cycling travel season is about to begin

The season starts along some of the most beautiful cycling routes

  • The starting signal will be given on Saturday, April 11, 2026, along the picturesque Lahn Cycle Path – right on our doorstep in Marburg. The Main, Moselle, Saar and the Münsterland will follow shortly after. Already on Sunday, April 12, 2026, the Rhine, the Ruhr region and Hamburg will join in, completing the first weekend of the season.
  • The following weekend continues with the start along the Weser on April 18, 2026, and along the Fulda and Werra on April 19, 2026. Our round tours Aachen and Berlin will also open their season that weekend.
  • We are particularly excited about the launch of our brand-new Eifel tours on April 26, 2026 – we are already looking forward to the first travel reports!
  • And last but not least, starting May 2, 2026, we will also welcome our first guests in Thuringia.

What happens behind the scenes during winter

Even though no guests are out cycling during the winter months, the team at Velociped is hard at work.

  • Our colleague Carolin has been busy arranging hotel contracts and selecting suitable, bike-friendly accommodations for all our tours.
  • Our logistics department has prepared our transport partners for the upcoming season, ensuring that luggage and bicycles reach their destinations reliably and safely.
  • In the workshop, all bikes were brought out of their winter hibernation, thoroughly serviced and cleaned before being distributed to our various bike stations.
  • Our travel documents have also been reviewed and updated so that you always have the latest information while traveling. Our GUIBO app will once again accompany you digitally on your journey this year – with navigation, important information and many helpful tips along the way.

And for those who prefer traveling with paper documents: printed travel documents are of course still available for an additional fee.

Our conclusion

A long-awaited wish of the Velociped family has come true. An extension to our offices in Marburg not only offers more space for processing your trips, but also for constructive meetings and relaxing breaks.

Team event Trip to the Dammühle
Every year, shortly before the start of the season, we cyclists get itchy feet. We want to test our new bikes and get in the mood for the season with a small team event. So this April, we'll be getting on our bikes and cycling a short route around Marburg.

Koblenz: Hotel tour and tour of SE-Manon
The Kaiser Wilhelm Monument, one of the city's most impressive sights, stands imposingly at the Deutsches Eck. The importance of the city of Koblenz for Velociped is also impressive: many Velociped cyclists are travelling along the confluence of the Moselle and Rhine rivers and the Lahn estuary south of Koblenz. Koblenz has a decisive influence on the quality of the cycle tour as a start or end point as well as during the journey along the Rhine. In this lively city, we value our cooperation with a number of long-standing hotel partners and are also delighted about new hotel openings and new collaborations with long-established Koblenz hotels. It is important to us to be able to offer a special blend of comfort, service and personalised care. Over the off-season, we have expanded our selection of hotels in Koblenz, not least by gaining new hotel partners, so it is time to visit the historic city in person again and exchange ideas with our contacts, some of whom have been with us for many years. We take an invitation to visit the SE Manon ship from SE Tours as an incentive and set off in our Velociped Sprinter towards Bad Ems-Nievern to our bicycle depot at the beginning of April. We meet our station manager Carsten there and then set off on our hotel tour from Koblenz main station.

Introducing the Velociped team
Of course, there are a lot of interesting people and stories behind Velociped. We enjoy working as a team, taking lunch breaks together and celebrating together from time to time, and dogs are also allowed in our office. Sounds fantastic? It is! So that you can get to know us even better, we'll tell you a little about our areas of responsibility and also a little about our private hobbies. Hobby number one is, of course, cycling.
