We have reason to celebrate

On February 1, 2016, Carolin began her journey with Velociped Fahrradreisen – and since then, we simply can’t imagine our team without her.

What started with great curiosity, dedication, and enthusiasm in the reservation team quickly grew into a true passion.

With remarkable patience, genuine empathy, and always a listening ear, Carolin supported our guests before, during and after their tours. Whether questions about routes, hotels, or luggage transfers – she made sure every trip was well prepared.

After three years, it was time for something new!
Carolin moved into logistics and product management – and today she is an indispensable part of our hotel contracting team. With tact, experience, and strong negotiation skills, she works tirelessly to secure the best prices and services for our guests – always keeping quality and comfort firmly in focus.

Curious about what Carolin has experienced over the years – and what else has changed at Velociped since 2016? Read more here!

Carolin on the Road – Her Cycling Tours

As a travel specialist for our Moselle tours, Carolin visited the Moselle bike path on her very first info tour – to the place where cycling and wine enjoyment simply go hand in hand. After all, your first cycling holiday of your own is always something very special: a beautiful region, new impressions, the first experience of traveling with Velociped – and, of course, those exciting questions: How do the bikes ride? How does the luggage transfer work? Are the travel documents easy to follow?

Apparently, everything was just as it should be – because many more tours followed: including trips to the Saar, to the Fulda in bright sunshine and pleasant temperatures, and even to the Münsterland with the whole family.

Hotel Contracting and Sustainability – Carolin’s Passion Project

Today, Carolin is responsible for hotel contracting for our tours. Whether comfortable mid-range hotels or charming, family-run guesthouses – one thing is always essential: the quality has to be right. And whenever possible, she checks this for herself. Carolin regularly sets out on hotel inspection trips. Most recently, her journey took her to Koblenz, where our tours along the Lahn, Moselle, and Rhine meet. There, she visited the Four Points Flex by Sheraton, the Hotel Hohenstaufen, the Hotel Brenner, and the Super 8 Hotel, among others.

Alongside hotel contracting, Carolin is also passionate about nature and climate protection. As a dedicated member of our sustainability team, she works to make our travel packages increasingly sustainable, further develop our office processes – and even lends a helping hand during volunteer activities around Marburg.

Carolin’s Favorite Memories

Carolin particularly remembers the time during the COVID pandemic – a phase that was challenging for all of us. Despite lockdowns, there was more work than ever at Velociped: trips had to be reversed, guests needed up-to-date information, and the constantly changing situation had to be monitored at all times.

And then – finally – from the summer onwards, bookings started coming in again in large numbers. It was an intense and sometimes stressful period, but one that brought us even closer together as a team.

Hotel inspection trips during that time were also a very special challenge. Cozy restaurant visits after long working days were not possible – so creativity was required. Whether it was dinner on the windowsill in a hotel room or on a park bench around the corner, these small, improvised moments suddenly became part of everyday life and remain fond memories to this day.

That period in particular showed what Velociped is all about: solidarity, flexibility, and a great deal of team spirit.

More New Developments in 2016

2016 was not only the year Carolin joined Velociped – our travel program also expanded significantly. Among the new additions were:

  • the Lüneburg Heath radial tour, a purple dream in August during the heath bloom

  • the Spreewald radial tour featuring Cottbus, a traditional punt boat ride, and the famous Gherkin Museum

  • the Freiburg round tour in the tri-border region of Germany, Switzerland, and France, with highlights such as Freiburg, Colmar, Guebwiller, and Basel

  • and of course our Lake Constance tours, where Germany, Austria, and Switzerland have now been perfectly combined for 10 years – with flat cycle paths, lake views, and an impressive Alpine backdrop

Our conclusion

We are incredibly grateful that Carolin has been part of the Velociped family for 10 years now – with her dedication, her warmth, and her passion for what she does. Here’s to the next 10 years, dear Carolin! We’re excited for everything that’s still to come
