MS Casanova
The MS Casanova sails under the Swiss flag. The furnishing style is reminiscent of rococo with playful details and reproduced paintings by famous artists. The 48 outside cabins are approx. 12 m² in size and are equipped with shower/WC, hairdryer, satellite TV, safe (deposit required), minibar and adjustable air conditioning. The 22 cabins on the main deck are equipped with panoramic windows that cannot be opened. The 2-bed Deluxe cabins are slightly more spacious than the Standard cabins.
All 26 cabins on the upper deck are equipped with a French balcony. The floor-to-ceiling windows can be opened. In the ECO cabins, which are located at the rear of the ship, engine and generator noises are audible. The panorama saloon invites you to relax with a glass of wine or a cocktail, while breakfast and dinner are served in the restaurant. On the sun deck, which can be reached via a steep staircase and is equipped with sun loungers and seating, you can relax after the day's excursions.
Tour
Arrive early, as Bamberg's old town (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) is well worth a visit. Start with St. Peter and St. George's Imperial Cathedral and the New Residence, then stroll through the narrow streets of the old town. Boarding is possible from 4pm.
Early in the morning, you will travel by boat to Haßfurt. After a tour of the town, including the late Gothic Knight's Chapel and the parish church with figures by Tilman Riemenschneider, you will hop on your bike and cycle along the banks of the Main to Schweinfurt. Here, you can discover the history of the old imperial city, follow in the footsteps of industrial pioneers and explorers, and enjoy the delights of modern Schweinfurt.
Cycling past countless vineyards, you will first reach Volkach. This small town with its picturesque old town is famous for its excellent wines. After Volkach, follow the Main Canal before rejoining the Main in Schwarzach and quickly reaching the pretty town of Dettelbach. The almost completely preserved town wall with its 30 towers and two gatehouses invites you to take a stroll. Marvel at the parish church of St. Augustine with its uneven towers in the middle of the old town and visit the pilgrimage church of Maria im Sand, a late Gothic and Renaissance building known throughout Europe. As the well-paved Main Cycle Path is completely flat, Kitzingen is quickly reached. Look forward to the wine village with its historic market square and one of the oldest wine cellars in Germany. You also have the option of staying on board until Volkach, shortening the stage by about 25 km.
Depending on the berth confirmation, your destination for today is Kitzingen or Marktbreit.
A picture-perfect day: one wine village more beautiful than the next! Cycle via Ochsenfurt, Sommerhausen, and Eibelstadt to the royal seat of Würzburg. Take a stroll through the city and marvel at the market square, the town hall, and the old Main Bridge. You may also have time to visit the old residence (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), a masterpiece of southern German Baroque architecture and one of the most important palaces in Europe. It was built between 1720 and 1744 according to plans by Balthasar Neumann. Other well-known sights include St. Kilian's Cathedral and the Marienberg Fortress.
Enjoy the boat trip from Würzburg to Karlstadt during breakfast. Visit the picturesque town center with its half-timbered houses and narrow streets. Then cycle along flat paths to the three-river town of Gemünden. Stroll through the old town up to the Scherenburg ruins and enjoy a fantastic view of the Main Valley, the Spessart, and the Rhön. Over the next few kilometers, the wooded hills come closer together, through which the Main River and all cyclists meander. This brings you comfortably and in good spirits to Lohr - the gateway to the Spessart Nature Park.
Your floating hotel will take you to the old royal seat of Wertheim. Visit the picturesque old town with its charming half-timbered houses and winding streets. Don't miss Wertheim's landmark, the castle of the same name, before continuing along the Main Cycle Route and soon reaching today's destination, Freudenberg. You may want to visit Freudenberg Castle, which towers high above the town on the foothills of the Franconian Odenwald. Or you can enjoy the evening in the small town.
Set off early and you will quickly reach Miltenberg, the highlight of today's stage. The old town of Miltenberg and Mildenburg Castle, built around 1200, nestle between the Main and Greinberg. There are rest areas and benches for resting all along the Main. Perhaps you would even like to refresh yourself with a swim in the Main? In Aschaffenburg, the sandstone Johannisburg Castle awaits you. The romantic old town on the Stiftsberg stretches from the town hall to the castle and is waiting for you to explore. In the evening, enjoy your farewell dinner while your ship takes you to Frankfurt am Main.
Today, your wonderful bike and boat trip on and along the Main River ends after breakfast at 9am with disembarkation.
Itinerary and programme changes:
The planned route is always subject to possible changes due to nautical, meteorological or organisational reasons. If, for example, a route cannot be travelled due to low water, high water, bad weather or construction work, the captain reserves the right to change the route for your safety. This is not a legally valid reason for cancelling the trip free of charge. The same applies in the event of officially ordered lock or bridge repairs or in the event of engine or propulsion damage to the ship through no fault of the captain.
As your ship usually sails to the next harbour on the same day, your time frame for your own activities and sightseeing is limited. On some bridges, the clearance height is so low that the sun deck is closed for your safety.
Fuel surcharge:
A fuel surcharge, which may apply due to the sharp rise in fuel prices, is not included in the cruise price and must be paid in cash on arrival on board the ship. We will inform you of the amount of the surcharge, if any, approx. 4 weeks before arrival.

Luggage
We recommend good rain gear, a bicycle helmet, sun hat and sports shoes. For reasons of space, we would like to ask you to refrain from carrying luggage with hard shells, the storage space in the cabin is very limited!
Condition of the bike paths
As the first cycle route in Germany, the Main cycle route was awarded five stars by the ADFC in 2008. Important criteria for this award were the almost continuous asphalting and the almost car-free routing. The consistently signposted cycle path usually runs along the banks of the Main and has no significant inclines.

Unisex bikes (suitable for men and women) are available for hire. They all have 7-speed hub gears and coaster brakes or freewheel brakes and are available in different frame heights. Electric bikes can also be provided on request. Please indicate your height when booking.
Own bikes
Due to limited space on the ship, bringing your own bike is only possible on request and at an additional cost.
