A long-awaited wish of the Velociped family has come true. An extension to our offices in Marburg not only offers more space for processing your trips, but also for constructive meetings and relaxing breaks.

Velociped is growing

Small but mighty

This is probably the most fitting description of our current office. A small office with over 15 employees who are fully committed to making phone calls, organizing, coordinating, printing, emailing and putting together the next Velociped dream tours. And all this on just 80 m². Not everyone had found a place at the meeting table for a long time and a break room was sorely missed.
But that's all over now! We were finally able to rent additional rooms directly in the same building - and of course we seized the opportunity.

No pain, no gain

If you heard drilling, knocking or cracking in the background when you spoke to us by phone, this was probably not a fault with the line, as work had to be done while the building was renovated.
While the electrics were being replaced, we had to work without electricity at times - another interesting experience that we hadn't expected.
New electrics, fresh paint, chic floor coverings and modern furniture: our new rooms now shine in new splendor.

So far so good

Then it's time to pack boxes. Piece by piece, everything moved from the old to the new area. Pens, screens, laptops, telephones - and of course lots of cables. Right at the forefront: our Managing Director Anja and our accounting heros Elke and Roswitha.
Anja is particularly happy about the peace and quiet and the space to develop new ideas - with a view of Marbug Castle.
Elke finally enjoys having a door that can be closed - for concentrated work with figures, receipts and invoices.
Roswitha loves the light - the large windows ensure the office is flooded with light.
The only downer: the distance to the other colleagues has doubled. But hey - exercise is healthy, right?

An oasis for real breaks

We all enjoy our large and versatile recreation rooms. This is where we meet during our lunch break, exchange ideas and indulge in the delicacies of our in-house cooking club. And when the sun is shining, we are all drawn to the roof terrace with balcony. There we not only enjoy our break - but also the spectacular view of Marburg Castle.

Our conclusion

More space, more peace and quiet, more togetherness - our new rooms are more than just a change of scenery. They are a real gain for the Velociped family. Thanks to everyone who made this possible. More motivation is hardly possible!

We have been a member of Travelife since December 2024 because the climate is important to us, whether it concerns the way our customers travel, our office, food, hotels, restaurants, or our carbon footprint in general. At Velociped, we are committed to climate-conscious actions and want to integrate sustainability into our everyday lives. In our regular posts, you can find out how conscious behavior affects the way we work, which processes we are working on, which projects we support, and how you, as a guest, can support us on our journey toward greater sustainability.

Team event Trip to the Dammühle

Every year, shortly before the start of the season, we cyclists get itchy feet. We want to test our new bikes and get in the mood for the season with a small team event. So this April, we'll be getting on our bikes and cycling a short route around Marburg.

Koblenz: Hotel tour and tour of SE-Manon

The Kaiser Wilhelm Monument, one of the city's most impressive sights, stands imposingly at the Deutsches Eck. The importance of the city of Koblenz for Velociped is also impressive: many Velociped cyclists are travelling along the confluence of the Moselle and Rhine rivers and the Lahn estuary south of Koblenz. Koblenz has a decisive influence on the quality of the cycle tour as a start or end point as well as during the journey along the Rhine. In this lively city, we value our cooperation with a number of long-standing hotel partners and are also delighted about new hotel openings and new collaborations with long-established Koblenz hotels. It is important to us to be able to offer a special blend of comfort, service and personalised care. Over the off-season, we have expanded our selection of hotels in Koblenz, not least by gaining new hotel partners, so it is time to visit the historic city in person again and exchange ideas with our contacts, some of whom have been with us for many years. We take an invitation to visit the SE Manon ship from SE Tours as an incentive and set off in our Velociped Sprinter towards Bad Ems-Nievern to our bicycle depot at the beginning of April. We meet our station manager Carsten there and then set off on our hotel tour from Koblenz main station.

Hotel tour Mainz

Mainz, the beautiful state capital of Rhineland-Palatinate, not only offers a rich history and impressive sights, but is also the starting point for most of our cycle tours along the Rhine and is therefore very important to us. We choose our hotel partners carefully and pay particular attention to a perfect blend of comfort and service so that our cycling friends get a good first impression and feel comfortable from the start of their trip. We were last in Mainz a good four years ago to see our partner hotels, meet the contact persons in person and exchange ideas about current developments. So it was clear – we absolutely had to go back to Mainz. After a quick “good morning” in the office and checking the most important e-mails, Steffi and I set off at the end of January to visit three of our partner hotels.
