1. day Ponzano Veneto arrival

After a relaxed arrival, enjoy your first day! You will receive more detailed travel documents and your rental bikes. Have a look at the surroundings or just enjoy the Spa of the hotel.

2. day Treviso approx. 25 km

Your first bike ride brings you to the beautiful provincial capital of Treviso. On the bike path you cycle along the former city fortification before you reach the heart of the "città delle aque". The nicknamed 'city of water' owes Treviso its infinite number of channels that run through the center. Marvel at the magnificent palaces in the center, which all come from the 12th-14th Century, the great age of Treviso. Stroll through the remarkable Piazza dei Signori and around the elegant main street Via Calmaggiore that leads from Piazza dei Signori to the cathedral. Visit the cathedral, which was rebuilt after its construction in the 12th century a number of times and presents works by Titian and Pordenone. Treviso is also known for its good food, especially for the "red radicchio". Sample this local delicacy that is raw prepared as salad, grilled or steamed.

3. day Along the wine road of Pinot Grigio approx. 65 km

In the morning you will cycle leisurely through the agricultural hinterland to the river Piave. Along the route some lonely roads lead to one or other stately manor. After crossing the river you will reach the wine route "Strade del Vino del Piave". Look forward to the next 15 km, as you follow the wine route of Prosecco between golden vineyards and impressive villas. Enjoy fantastic views in this charming landscape. Here the famous Pinot Grigio is pressed to perfection.

4. day Roman Town Castelfranco Veneto approx. 65 km

Today you will cycle to the charming small town of Castelfranco, whose origins date back to the Romans. At the crossroads of the Roman roads to Vicenza, Padua and Asolo, the "castrum" was built. It offers an impressive medieval fortress town. The historic center is still surrounded by a completely preserved brick wall, a moat and five watchtowers. The fortress was built in the 12th century by Treviso to defend itself against the emerging Padua. After rewarding break you will cycle to Fanzolo di Vedelago where the Villa Emo, another cultural highlight is waiting for you. The villa was built by the great architect Palladio 1555-1565. The house stands on a high pedestal with two service buildings with colonnades which are bounded by dovecotes. Look forward to a worthwhile guided tour (included in your package).

5. day Excursion to the Prosecco hills approx. 55 km + transfer

In the morning you take a transfer to Valdobbiadene, capital of Prosecco. On the small square cafes invite to the first cappuccino before you jump on your bikes to master you first short climb. But you will be rewarded! Look forward to the views of the almost endless vineyards. Your beautiful bike course leads from one wine village to the next wine village. Fascinating are the vineyards in the high hills, some with steep slopes, where even standing is difficult. Here the winemakers have to fight hard centimeter by centimeter and have created a unique landscape. The beauty of the landscape even led to the desire, to set up the area as a candidate for World Heritage (Unesco). Matching to the cycle day awaits you in a Prosecco tasting the evening.

6. day Nature Park of the Sile River approx. 55 km

The last bike tour leads you further to Treviso before you continue cycling on the bike trail which used to be a former railway line to the Natural Park of Sile. On beautiful, quiet paths you will cross by bike this Nature Park. Again and again you will see little river Sile and you will cycle sometimes right and sometimes left the shore.

7. day Ponzano Veneto departure

You might be really in love with the area and do not feel like leaving already. But today your beautiful bike trip comes to an end after breakfast in the hotel.

tour highlights

Treviso

Treviso is an attractive town in the Veneto region of north-east Italy, with a population of around 80,000. Rebuilt and restored after Second World War bombing, the town centre is a rambling maze of streets lined with arcaded walkways. Looking up, you'll see fragments of the painted frescoes which once decorated Treviso's houses. The town is circled by a town wall and by waterways. Treviso markets itself as a città d'acque and although it can hardly compare with its lagoon neighbour, water is an important feature of the townscape. The river Sile runs to the south of the centre, and canals carry water around the town, lined with houses or grassy banks, weeping willows, waterwheels and little parks. The town's defensive walls, moat and imposing gateways are still impressive sights.

Prosecco and Colli Conegliano Valdobbiadene Wine Road

The new Prosecco and Colli Conegliano Valdobbiadene Wine Road, created in 2003, is the direct heir to what was Italy's first enological route, started long-ago in 1966. Large stretches of the original route have been repeated, joined by theme itineraries able to valorize the entire district, its different viticultural landscapes and many attractions, including historical-artistic ones, scattered through the hills between Conegliano and Valdobbiadene.

Valdobbiadene

Vine-growing has been widespread in the Conegliano Valdobbiadene zone since ancient times. A memorial stone in the area recalls the words of a Roman centurion, mentioning the vendemmiales, celebrations on the occasion of the grape harvest

Valdobbiadene

Natural Park of River Sile

Founded in 1991, the Natural Park of the River Sile covers 3000 hectares in its entirety, and is characterised by the copious resurgences and wealth of woods within its territory. The river Sile rises at Vedelago (in the province of Treviso) and runs for 95 km flowing finally into the Venetian lagoon and then the Adriatic sea - the river with the most resurgences in Europe.

Villa Emo

Leonardo Emo hired the star architect of the 16th century, Andrea Palladio for building the villa. It combines the function of Emo family farming with the amenities of a wealthy manor. A wide ramp leads to the entrance. Enjoy a stroll through the decorative arcades and get a glimpse into the life of the Venetian aristocracy in the 16th century.

Villa Emo

Castelfranco Veneto

The small historic center of Castelfranco is surrounded by high walls and contains only a few streets. At its heart is the cathedral, the Duomo, located behind a series of statues facing the town hall. The greatest treasure of the church is also the main attraction of the city: an altarpiece by Giorgione. Next to the Duomo is the so-called Casa del Giorgione (House of Giorgione). Although it was claimed that the artist was born in the building, there is no evidence for it. The house was restored by the local council and opened to the public. In the street opposite the cathedral is the Teatro Accademico. The Torre Civica, a clock tower over the eastern gate, carries the Venetian winged lion and is surmounted by a small dome. Around the outside of the fortress is a pretty little park. A busy market is held on Tuesdays and Fridays. Explore the lanes and shops, some of them in attractive and well kept small courtyards.
