From the source to the mouth of the Rhine

One of Germany's most beautiful cycling regions lies between Westerwald and Taunus. Along the Lahn, literally every kilometre of cycle path is a treat for body and soul. On well-developed routes directly along the river, you can enjoy peace and seclusion that will allow you to breathe deeply. Magnificent architecture, such as Arnstein Monastery or the Renaissance castle in Weilburg, lines your route. In between, there are picturesque river meadows, dreamy villages and countless inns that welcome you with open arms.
On your cycling tour along the Lahn Cycle Route, be sure to visit the Goethe town of Wetzlar with the Lottehaus and the disused iron ore mine Grube Fortuna. Experience the lively university town of Marburg and crown your cycle tour with a trip to the Loreley near St. Goar. You will see: between the source of the Lahn near Netphen and its confluence with the Rhine near Koblenz, there are dozens of places worth visiting – from Biedenkopf to Giessen and Limburg to Nassau, Bad Ems and Boppard.
