For water freaks
Ahoy! Cycling and boating – the perfect combination
Land and water, cycling and boating: these Velociped tours offer both! On rivers, lakes or along the coast, you can experience the joy of basking in the sun on a deckchair and then discovering the world again from the saddle of your bike. Your floating hotel with its well-appointed, air-conditioned cabins is always with you.
And another advantage is that you cycle without luggage. This can stay in your cabin on the floating hotel ship while you roll along the river cycle path, cycle across an island or to the next harbour, where your boat is waiting for you again.
On German rivers, lakes and coasts
- Such cycling and boat tours are available in Germany, for example, on the Main River with the MS Casanova from the beer town of Bamberg, on the Rhine from Mainz to Cologne with the MS Olympia, or, also with the MS Olympia, from Saarburg to Koblenz along the Saar and Moselle rivers. A truly wonderful combination that also offers time for relaxation! And you can relax, because the family-friendly riverboat MS Olympia offers cosy cabins, a very British-style panorama lounge with bar and a partially covered upper deck.
- We travel the Berlin - Stralsund route on the comfortable MS Princess, which lives up to its name: the Princess was freshly renovated in 2024 and has comfortable cabins, a restaurant, a lounge with bar and a sun deck.
The classic: The Netherlands
- Of course, the Netherlands also attracts visitors with its bike-and-boat combination. What could be more natural in this coastal country with its well-developed cycle paths? Here we even offer a combination with a sailing boat: on the Mare van Fryslân tour, you travel on a former cargo ship, a converted three-masted schooner with a wood-panelled saloon and outdoor bar. An experience!
- Our other tours in the Netherlands take place on motor ships: with the MS Rigoletto you travel on the northern route through Holland, with the MS Normandie on the southern route, from Amsterdam to Maastricht with the MS Sarah, and from Amsterdam to Bruges in Belgium with the MS Magnifique 2 or by bike.
The beautiful blue Danube
- The choice on the Danube is virtually limitless: for example, travel from Passau to Budapest on the MS Prinzessin Katharina, which has its own massage salon and lounge, or on the MS SE-Manon, or cycle alongside. This premium ship even has a wellness area with a whirlpool and sauna, a library and a panorama salon, as well as a restaurant with panoramic windows and a magnificent view of the vineyards.
- The MS Vivienne and the MS Lisabelle also sail on the Passau - Budapest - Passau route. The latter also sails on the new route along the Danube to Vienna. Here you can travel on the most popular section of the most popular river cycle path and, as if by the way, take the most popular river cruise. The MS Lisabelle only has outside cabins, some of which even have French balconies. Voilá!
- The enchanting UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Danube Delta with its many arms, canals and lagoons, its bird life with herons and cormorants, traditional villages and small fishing boats is of course not to be missed. Here you will travel with a convoy consisting of a houseboat with a restaurant serving fine specialities and a tugboat.
Southern Europe
- You can also travel by bike and boat with Velociped in southern Europe, for example in Provence and Camargue in France with MS Caprice.
- In Greece, you can explore the Ionian Islands while staying on MS Panagiota.
- Kvarner Bay in Croatia is a classic destination for bike and boat tourism. The MS Aria, with two sun decks and a bathing platform with showers, or the MS Linda will take you from island to island. In the south of the country, we offer a tour through southern Dalmatia on the elegant deluxe two-masted motor yacht MS Magellan. Here, special emphasis is placed on exquisite cuisine and fine Croatian wines. Finally, the Croatian national parks in Dalmatia are visited by the MS San Snova.
The North, the East and far away
- In Northern Europe, we offer a cycle and boat trip through Scotland. You will stay on the tall ship Flying Dutchman, a passenger sailing ship that was originally a herring lugger, and cycle by e-bike through the Inner Hebrides and into the Highlands. Of course, a visit to a whisky distillery is a must!
- On the MS Classic Lady or by bicycle, you will travel through Polish Masuria, past crystal-clear lakes, pretty wooden houses and idyllic harbour towns. Enjoy the unspoilt nature of the Masurian Lake District with its rich bird life and gaze out over the water from the deck.
- Want to go somewhere far away? How about Vietnam? From Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City, this journey takes you past rice fields, floating markets in the Mekong Delta, the ancient imperial city of Hue and many other exotic sights such as the water puppet theatre in Hanoi. Glide through Ha Long and Bai Tu Long Bay on the Gaden Bay junk, enjoy the saloon with wicker furniture and artfully folded cloth napkins, as well as the Asian-style guest cabins with tiled bathrooms including shower and toilet.
