Tour

It is worth arriving early, as this gives you the opportunity to explore Bonn's old town on a first walk. Visit the Beethoven House and the historic Old Town Hall.

Your cycle tour begins on the right bank of the Rhine in Bonn-Beuel. You will initially travel down the Rhine before turning onto an idyllic path along the embankment that will take you directly to the Jewish cemetery. From there, you will continue your journey through the picturesque Siegaue until you reach the Sieg. You will cross the river with a horse-drawn ferry and then follow the cycle path to Siegburg. In Siegburg, it's worth taking a long break to visit the impressive Abbey Church on Michaelsberg and the market square with the Church of St. Servatius. After that, the route continues to St. Augustin, where the Steyler Missionaries' monastery awaits you. The almost ten-metre-high statue of Christ on the monastery grounds is particularly impressive here. The last few kilometres of the tour take you past Hangelar airfield and through the district of Pützchen, before ending your tour again in Bonn-Beuel.

The flat Rhine Cycle Route runs directly along the riverbank, making the journey to Cologne a real pleasure. The majestic Cologne Cathedral can be seen on the horizon from afar, increasing anticipation of the destination. Once in Cologne, the charming old town, the Rheinisch-Germanisches Museum and the Museum Ludwig, both just a stone's throw from the cathedral, invite you to visit. Those who dare to climb the cathedral tower will be rewarded with a breathtaking panoramic view of the city on a clear day.
A leisurely boat trip on the Rhine also offers wonderful views of Cologne. Afterwards, you can end the day in a relaxed manner in one of the many traditional Kölsch pubs. You can either cycle back to Bonn (approx. 35 km) or take the train in self-drive.

Today is all about discovering the unique aspects of Bonn in the various districts. Your bike tour starts at the Beethoven House and takes you through the city centre to the Nordstadt district. Here, it is worth making a detour to the Old Cemetery, where you will find the graves of Robert and Clara Schumann, or to the August Macke House.
After that, the route continues to the Rhine, which you follow upstream, past the Kennedy Bridge and the opera house, until you reach the Hofgarten and the magnificent Electoral Palace. Here you can take a well-deserved break before continuing your journey towards the southern part of the city. Your next destination is the Poppelsdorf Palace, whose palace garden is one of the most species-rich gardens in the world. From here you cycle through the magnificent Gründerzeit villas of the southern part of the city to the museum mile, where you have the choice between the Haus der Geschichte (House of History), the art museum or the Bundeskunsthalle (Federal Art and Exhibition Hall). After the cultural detour, you continue through the former government quarter in the federal quarter. The Rheinaue Park finally leads you to Bad Godesberg, where the imposing Godesburg, which has towered over the city for over 800 years, and numerous villas in the historicism and art nouveau styles await you. Finally, you will return comfortably to your hotel in Bonn via the Rhine Cycle Path.

Your cycle tour starts right outside the hotel and takes you upstream along the Rhine Cycle Route towards Bad Godesberg. In Mehlem, you can already enjoy an impressive view of the Drachenfels, which is on the programme later in the day. At Rolandseck, you take the ferry to Bad Honnef, where you can stroll through the charming pedestrian zone with its picturesque half-timbered houses and take a break in a cosy café.
After refreshments, you continue by bike to Königswinter and the Drachenfels. Here an exciting ride with the Drachenfelsbahn, the oldest cog railway in Germany, awaits you up to the summit. Once at the top, you will visit the impressive Drachenburg Castle and enjoy the breathtaking view over the Rhine Valley from the Drachenfels plateau. Your tour ends with a relaxed ride on the cycle path on the right bank of the Rhine back to Bonn-Beuel.

Your varied radial tour from Bonn ends today after breakfast.
