Our top tips from first-hand experience

We have been out and have some top tips for you, which you can also find in the catalogue.

Eleni practically grew up on a bicycle saddle and has been on many tours. Most recently, she travelled around Potsdam with her friend – an oasis of calm! The Seminaris Seehotel right on Lake Templin invites you to relax, while you can marvel at sparkling lakes, green nature and stately castles on your bike.

Carolin cycled the Münsterland Sternradtour with her family. With e-bikes and child trailers they mastered the stages. They were particularly enthusiastic about the guided tour of Münster by bike and the boat trip on Lake Aasee – and even off the usual track, there were little surprises that made not only the children's eyes light up.

Katrin explored the Lahn by bike with her mother – it was her very first cycling trip! A small river in the midst of idyllic nature, lined with castles, half-timbered towns and charming villages. The crowning glory: a boat trip on the Rhine. A perfect beginner's tour in the heart of Germany!

A special highlight awaited us in spring when we were given a tour of the MS SE Manon. The elegant ship boasts a stylish lounge, a cosy library, a large sun deck with a pool and even a small wellness area.

New trips in 2026 – Discover, experience, enjoy

Once again, there are lots of new things to discover with Velociped this year! We have taken great care and passion to expand our travel programme and put together exciting new tours that will make you want to get on your bike and explore.

Pure nature awaits you on the route from Aachen to Trier. You will cycle leisurely along former railway lines through the beautiful Eifel region, past viaducts, forests and small half-timbered villages – a true paradise for anyone who loves to cycle peacefully through unspoilt nature.

From the Bavarian capital of Munich, the route takes you through Austria to Merano in South Tyrol. This trip impressively combines countries, cultures and landscapes – from the Alpine panorama to the Mediterranean lightness of Italy.

Fans of Italy will get their money's worth: on the new Veneto Star Cycle Tour, you will stay in the heart of the region and discover the most beautiful cities by bike, including elegant Vicenza and charming Bassano del Grappa. Dolce vita and cultural enjoyment included!

The new tour on the Main-Danube Canal takes you on a relaxing journey through the Franconian wine country between Bamberg and Regensburg. Enjoy the gentle gliding along on board, combined with varied cycling excursions and culinary moments on land.

Sustainability

Our travel documents are a central part of your cycling holiday – and we are constantly developing them further. From 2026 onwards, we will primarily provide you with digital documents for Velociped Original tours: practical, clear and always at your fingertips. Those who prefer to leaf through printed documents can also book printed documents for many tours. This allows you to decide for yourself which option suits you best.

Because nature is close to our hearts, we are clearly committed to sustainability:
Since December 2024, we have been a proud member of Travelife, a world-leading training and certification programme for sustainability management in the travel industry. We are currently in the entry phase and are working hard to achieve the next level of certification (Travelife Partner), which we expect to receive later this year.

Koblenz: Hotel tour and tour of SE-Manon
The Kaiser Wilhelm Monument, one of the city's most impressive sights, stands imposingly at the Deutsches Eck. The importance of the city of Koblenz for Velociped is also impressive: many Velociped cyclists are travelling along the confluence of the Moselle and Rhine rivers and the Lahn estuary south of Koblenz. Koblenz has a decisive influence on the quality of the cycle tour as a start or end point as well as during the journey along the Rhine. In this lively city, we value our cooperation with a number of long-standing hotel partners and are also delighted about new hotel openings and new collaborations with long-established Koblenz hotels. It is important to us to be able to offer a special blend of comfort, service and personalised care. Over the off-season, we have expanded our selection of hotels in Koblenz, not least by gaining new hotel partners, so it is time to visit the historic city in person again and exchange ideas with our contacts, some of whom have been with us for many years. We take an invitation to visit the SE Manon ship from SE Tours as an incentive and set off in our Velociped Sprinter towards Bad Ems-Nievern to our bicycle depot at the beginning of April. We meet our station manager Carsten there and then set off on our hotel tour from Koblenz main station.

Travel report Potsdam radial tour
Cycling has been a passion of mine since my childhood, when I discovered nature on cycling vacations with my family. Today, I start our own bike tour with a friend – an ideal mix of adventure and relaxation. For me, there is hardly anything better: experiencing the fresh air and the surroundings in a very special way. What's special about the Potsdam radial tour is that there's no need to change hotels every day, no chaotic packing and the stages can be flexibly adapted. You can also sleep a little longer here.

The question of where to go on this year's information trip marked the start of planning for the time when we get to swap the office chair for the bicycle saddle and experience one of our many cycle tours ourselves. Since it is only my second year in Marburg, I decide to discover the river that flows on my doorstep. In September, my mother and I set off on the classic route along the Lahn from Marburg.

I still think back to past bike tours with my husband, we have experienced a lot in the saddle. We still want to discover a lot, but something is different now: we are traveling as a family. The first cycling vacation with my husband and our daughter should be something special for all of us and so, after a short consideration, we choose the Münster radial tour. After a short period of preparation, we set off - here we come! Münster is the cycling capital of Germany, with around 4,500 signposted, mostly flat cycle paths that take you comfortably through the city center and the surrounding Münsterland countryside. We deliberately opted for e-bikes as we wanted to transport our 2-year-old daughter comfortably in the rented bike trailer. This way, we are well prepared for all eventualities and can relax and enjoy the daily stages of a good 30 km each.
