Gems of nature and culture, Eisenach, Erfurt, Weimar ...

Look forward to this relatively new cycle route in Germany, which is a long-distance cycle route covering 225 km through beautiful countryside and connecting seven of the most beautiful towns in the state of Thuringia.
You start in the famous Wartburg town of Eisenach, where Johann Sebastian Bach was born, and follow the cycle path to the royal seat of Gotha with its historic town hall, which is well worth seeing. The third gem on your route is the state capital of Thuringia, Erfurt, with its impressive Krämerbrücke bridge and the magnificent ensemble of St. Mary's Cathedral and Severi Church. The cycle tour leads through the Weimarer Land region to the city of Weimar, home of Goethe and Schiller. The route then takes you through the idyllic Ilm Valley until the cycle path finally brings you to the university city of Jena. You now follow the Saale Cycle Path for a short distance before cycling along a wonderfully asphalted cycle path through the wooded and romantic Zeitzgrund valley. This is pure landscape experience. Look forward to the Otto Dix city of Gera, the still impressive grounds of the 2007 Federal Horticultural Show and the playing card city of Altenburg. Overall, the cycle path is very well developed and fully signposted in both directions, a service that every cyclist greatly appreciates.
