From the source in Switzerland to Arnhem in the Netherlands
Take a bike tour along the Rhine Cycle Route, which leads from Switzerland to Germany and ends in Holland. We have divided the entire route along the Rhine, which is around 1,150 km long, into various beautiful cycling tours.
Cyclists will find one of the most attractive natural and cultural landscapes in Central Europe in the Upper Rhine Valley, which also offers ideal conditions for cycling. The cycle paths here lead through flat terrain, and the mild climate, low rainfall and favourable wind conditions make all cycle tours a real pleasure.
The most beautiful part of the entire Rhine Cycle Route is between Mainz and Cologne. Here, the cycle paths lead past the sun-drenched southern slopes of the Taunus with its famous wine villages and through the narrow Rhine Valley between Hunsrück and Taunus, which is rich in castles.
A cycle tour in the romantic Middle Rhine Valley is sure to make every cyclist's heart beat faster. After Cologne, the cycle route leads through urban but highly interesting areas through Neuss, Düsseldorf and Duisburg, which has the largest inland port in Europe.
You can then look forward to the flat cycle paths through the characteristic landscape of the Lower Rhine. The quality of the Rhine Cycle Route varies greatly depending on the region. In Germany, you will cycle almost exclusively on asphalt cycle paths, dam paths or quiet country roads.
