Tour
During the day you will receive your touring bike which opens up the possibility to discover the idyllic Branitzer Park and castle Pückler. It is worth to go for a stroll through the beautifully restored Old Town. Parking site at the hotel.
On the first cycling day the route leads you along the nature paradise Peitzer Teiche to the old fortress town Peitz. A visit of the mining museum is highly recommended, before you go on cycling along the Spree to Burg. Burg is known as a centre of sorbian culture, which has been kept vivid through the seclusion of the region.
It is worth visiting Vetschau today, where you can discover the German-Sorbian church or the information centre on white storks. You will continue your tour along many rivers and canals through the high forest to Lübbenau. With its numerous flow-lines the forest has its own fascination. Meeting point of many visitors is the lagoon village Lehde near Lübbenau.
Destination of the tour today is Beeskow with its medieval town wall. Along the way you come past the Neuendorfer- and Schwieloch lakes, which are picturesquely located in moraine hills.
The castle in Beeskow shows an exhibition on the homeland and culture history of this region.
The tour continues quite relaxed along the bends of the Spree to Fürstenwalde. Wide floodplains and luxuriant nature form the picture of this stage.
This day you will cyle via Erkner and the Müggelsee to the Hauptmann von Köpenick (a German impostor who masqueraded as a Prussian military officer in 1906 and became famous as the Captain of Köpenick -Hauptmann von Köpenick). In Erkner pays off a visit to the Gerhard Hauptmann house. Climb up the 30 meter high Müggel tower, from this tower you will have a fantastic view. Finally make a ramble to the old town of Köpenick.
