Highlights

Munich
Munich attracts visitors with its world-famous highlights: at Marienplatz, the New Town Hall delights with its glockenspiel, while the Viktualienmarkt invites visitors to sample regional specialities. The magnificent Residenz and Nymphenburg Palace tell of the city's glorious past. Art lovers will find masterpieces in the Pinakotheken and Lenbachhaus museums, while nature lovers can relax in the English Garden, one of the largest city parks in the world. The Olympic Park and BMW Welt add modern accents – perfect contrasts to the historic old town. Sports and architecture fans will get their money's worth at the futuristic Allianz Arena, and a visit to the traditional Hofbräuhaus perfectly rounds off the Bavarian way of life.

Murnau
Murnau rises above the nature reserve Murnauer Moos and the three warmest bathing lakes of Upper Bavaria. The view of the peaks of the Wetterstein, Ester and Ammer mountains is like looking out from a balcony.

Lake Starnberg
Set against the majestic backdrop of the Bavarian Alps, just 20 kilometres south of Munich, lies the holiday paradise of ‘Starnberg's Five Lakes Region’. It is home to nine nature reserves, meaning that over two thirds of Starnberg's Five Lakes Region is under landscape protection. Excellent water quality ensures a ‘clean’ stay.

Garmisch Partenkirchen
Garmisch-Partenkirchen, located at the foot of the Zugspitze, is considered one of the most famous Alpine resorts in Germany. The region inspires with breathtaking mountain panoramas, idyllic hiking and cycling trails, and winter sports opportunities. A highlight is the ride on the Zugspitzbahn railway to Germany's highest peak. Also worth seeing are the colourful murals on the historic houses, the impressive Partnach Gorge with its steep rock faces and rushing waterfalls, and the charming town centre with its traditional inns and boutiques. Here, nature, culture and the Bavarian way of life come together in an ideal way.

Wallgau
Wallgau is a sun-kissed town located at around 900 metres above sea level. Rustic farmhouses and facades decorated with Lüftlmalerei frescoes give the town the flair that characterises Upper Bavaria. A holiday in the mountains as it should be.

Bad Tölz
Bad Tölz is a city with about 18,000 inhabitants: tranquil and yet versatile, with urban infrastructure and yet characterized by the rural idyll. And best of all, if you like, you can easily explore the sights of the town on foot.

Tegernsee - Gmund
Gmund presents itself to its guests as authentic, down-to-earth and tradition-conscious. Would you like to get to know and enjoy authentic Bavarian life? Then you've come to the right place.
Gmund is considered the most family-friendly place in the Tegernsee holiday region. The gently rolling Alpine foothills are ideal for hikers and cyclists.

Tour

Travel to the Bavarian capital early, it's worth it! Numerous sights such as the English Garden, the Marienplatz, which has been the centre of Munich since Henry the Lion founded the city in 1158, the City Hall or the Hofbräuhaus want to be visited.

Look forward to a wonderful cycling day full of lakes! You cycle through Forstenrieder Park to Starnberg, cycle directly along the shores of the deep blue lake, follow secluded paths past the Osterseen and the Riegsee to Murnau am Staffelsee. If you wish, you can book an overnight stay at Lake Starnberg.

Today you cycle through the largest moorland in Central Europe! What a change! Through untouched nature you follow the river Loisach to Garmisch-Partenkirchen. You will reach your destination nice and early and it is worth taking the Zugspitzbahn up to an altitude of 2962 m for the magnificent view over the Alps.

After a hearty breakfast, you will first cycle via Klais to the beautiful Barmsee. Afterwards you have the option of cycling directly to Wallgau or taking a detour via Mittenwald and Scharnitz to the source of the Isar. Up to Scharnitz you will cover a total of approx. 300 metres in altitude. Now the adventure begins: you cycle slightly uphill through wild and romantic gorges and lush alpine meadows to the source of the Isar. Through the sunny high valley with magnificent panoramic views of the Karwendel and Wetterstein mountains, you cycle via Mittenwald to Wallgau, a place where Bavarian customs are still alive.

It's like a film today. Passing the Isarwinkel and following the crystal-clear, turquoise-blue water, you cycle to the impressive Sylvensteinsee and via Lenggries to Bad Tölz. In search of "The Bull of Tölz", discover the picturesque old town with its richly decorated town houses, quaint inns and attractive shops.

The Isar cycle path is your companion today. Almost every cyclist's heart leaps a little higher at the sight of the green Isar with its wonderfully white pebble banks and the impressive Alpine panorama. The landscape becomes more and more lovely today, gently rolling hills with characteristic onion-shaped church towers accompany you to the outskirts of Munich.

Departure from Munich. We are happy to book extra nights for you so that you can discover Munich's wonderful city centre.
