Picturesquely situated on Lake Lucerne, it is the gateway to Central Switzerland, the home of William Tell, and the birthplace of the Swiss Confederation. Its comfortable hotels are the perfect starting point for discovering this fascinating region. On your excursions, you can expect winding medieval old towns, impressive mountain scenery, and tranquil, sparkling lakes. Immerse yourself in the heart of unspoiled Switzerland - and let yourself be enchanted by its beauty.

Highlights

Lucerne
Lucerne delights visitors with its unique blend of history, lakes and mountains. The Chapel Bridge with its water tower, one of the oldest wooden bridges in Europe, is world-famous. The impressive Lion Monument, the winding old town with its painted facades, and the Swiss Museum of Transport are among the most visited attractions. The city also offers a perfect location on Lake Lucerne, flanked by the classic mountains of Rigi and Pilatus, which provide spectacular opportunities for excursions.

Lake Sempach
Lake Sempach is idyllically nestled between rolling hills and offers excellent swimming and recreational opportunities. Circular trails, natural shores, and views of the Alps make it an ideal place for relaxing breaks and leisurely bike rides.

Lake Zug
Lake Zug delights visitors with its blend of urban flair and idyllic nature. The picturesque lakeside promenade in Zug, the view of Mount Rigi, and the clear water make it a popular destination for excursions. The atmospheric sunsets are particularly famous.

Heidegg Castle
Heidegg Castle is considered one of the most beautiful country castles in Central Switzerland. Perched high above Lake Baldegg, it offers impressive views over the rolling hills. The historic estate delights visitors with its lovingly maintained castle grounds, old tree-lined avenues, and romantic rose garden. Inside, exhibitions, historic living quarters, and the accessible tower chamber tell exciting stories from centuries past.

Lake Baldegg
Lake Baldegg is a natural gem and is considered one of the most ecologically valuable lakes in Switzerland. Over 300 plant species, reed beds, and a wealth of birdlife characterize these tranquil waters. Heidegg Castle lends the area a special cultural character.

Tour

After arriving in Lucerne, there are many things to do: take a stroll along the harbor promenade, visit the famous Chapel Bridge and the water tower, or enjoy your first stroll through the charming old town with its colorful facades. If you prefer a more peaceful setting, treat yourself to a break on the shores of Lake Lucerne - the perfect place to settle in and let your gaze wander over the surrounding mountains.

Your first bike tour takes you over a gentle chain of hills, offering magnificent views of Lake Lucerne and the majestic Rigi. The idyllic meadows and side roads almost make you forget how close Lucerne is. Continue along the lakeside promenade from Küssnacht to Weggis, where a boat will take you to Beckenried. You then follow the path along the lake shore to the Horw peninsula. With a view of Lucerne's local mountain, Mount Pilatus, this stage ends in a particularly atmospheric setting.

Passing through the neighboring village of Emmenbrücke, you reach the Brunauer Berg mountain range, where scattered farms and wide fields characterize the landscape. This stage features a few moderate climbs, but you will be rewarded with magnificent views of the nearby Emmental valley and lovingly maintained farmhouses. The route ends gently past Werthenstein Monastery and then along the Kleine Emme back to Lucerne.

Today's destination is the charming little town of Sursee on the shores of Lake Sempach. Your route mainly takes you along quiet side roads, through shady forests and past fields and traditional farms. Again and again, you will be treated to magnificent views of the nearby Alps and the striking Mount Pilatus. Sursee is the ideal place to take a leisurely lunch break before relaxing on the narrow paths along Lake Sempach on your return journey.

The first section of your tour takes you back to Küssnacht on Lake Lucerne. From there, it is only a few pleasant kilometers to Lake Zug, which nestles picturesquely at the back of the Rigi. In Immensee, a boat will be waiting to take you comfortably to the city of Zug. You then cycle along the lake shore to Rotkreuz and from there follow a forest adventure trail that takes you back to Lucerne.

Passing Emmenbrücke, today's route takes you to idyllic Lake Baldegg, whose shores are home to over 300 plant species. The charming Heidegg Castle with its lovingly maintained park and cultural landscape is located directly on the lake. If you feel like it, take a short stroll through the fragrant rose garden before getting back on your bike for one last time and rolling leisurely back to Lucerne.

Unfortunately, your time in Lucerne comes to an end after breakfast. We would be happy to book an extension for you.
