Tour
Convenient flight connections and the centrally located airport, which can be reached by metro in just 30 minutes, make individual travel particularly easy. In Porto, you can expect a lively waterfront promenade with Mediterranean flair and a colorful, charming old town full of diversity and shopping opportunities.
In the morning, you will cross the Douro River, cycle past the famous port wine cellars, and leave the bustling city life behind you as you head toward the quiet Atlantic coast. The route takes you south along endless sandy beaches and through fragrant pine forests. Your destination for the day will charm you with its warm hospitality and delicious seafood specialties – enjoy a perfectly rounded end to the day.
Today, nature takes center stage: you cycle through the Aveiro lagoon, almost completely surrounded by water. In the São Jacinto Nature Reserve, you can watch birds or observe salt farmers as they harvest the “white gold” using traditional methods. Afterwards, a ferry will take you to Aveiro – the “Venice of Portugal” with its picturesque canals and colorful moliceiros boats.
Following the cycle path along the Rio Aveiro, you will reach Costa Nova, where the colourful striped beach houses provide popular photo opportunities. Continue your leisurely ride south and you will soon reach your destination for the day. There, the endless sandy beach invites you to take a stroll and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of this charming seaside resort.
Your route runs through gently rolling dunes while crickets sing their song in the pine forest. Then the view opens up to the first dramatic cliffs. The picturesque path leads to the Cabo Mondego lighthouse and on to Figueira da Foz, a charming coastal town with flower-filled streets, inviting restaurants, cozy cafés, and a beautiful beach.
In the morning, transfer to the royal town of Sintra with its palaces and mansions. From here, take a thrilling descent back towards the coast. Magnificent views of the sea and idyllic sandy bays make up for the odd hill or two on the way to Cascais. Sophisticated and with a beautiful promenade, your accommodation for the night welcomes you.
The cycle path follows the riverbank to Estoril, before you soon reach the mouth of the Tagus. The famous Tower of Belém lies along your route, before you cycle under Lisbon's impressive suspension bridge. Finally, you continue along the waterfront promenade to your hotel in the modern Oriente district.
The bike tour ends after breakfast at the hotel in Lisbon. We would be happy to book additional nights in Lisbon for you.

Porto can be reached inexpensively from many German and European airports. From the airport, take the metro to the city center (travel time approx. 30 minutes).
The individual bike routes
The tour is mostly gently hilly with only a few short climbs. It leads along beautiful bike paths, quiet farm roads, and side streets with little traffic, occasionally also on busier roads. Longer sections also run on gravel paths.
Available rental bikes
21-speed touring bikes and electric bikes are available. The rental bikes are equipped with a large pannier and a lock.
Travel times
From March onwards, the daytime temperatures are ideal for leisurely cycling, and from April you can expect balmy evenings. May is the high season, and in June, shaded spots are already in high demand in Porto. The swimming season is in July and August, when the locals also flock to the water in large numbers. From September onwards, the pleasant temperatures for cyclists return. October is also a good month for cycling, although the Atlantic is already too cool for a long swim.
Additional costs not included in the tour price
Any tourist taxes and charging fees for bicycle batteries are not included in the tour price and must therefore be paid at the hotel.
7-day hotline service
