From the charming mountain villages of Goms, follow the Rhône route to the romantic Binntal valley, where tranquil mountains and blooming alpine meadows dominate the scenery. Then the wide Rhône valley opens up with its vineyards, historic towns, and numerous castles and palaces.
On Lake Geneva, you will experience another impressive change: magnificent castles, elegant vineyards, sophisticated towns, and lively promenades give the region an almost Mediterranean flair.
Hardly any other route shows the diversity of Switzerland as impressively as the journey along the Rhône.

Tour

Even the journey to Oberwald through the magnificent Alpine landscape is a pleasure. Use the afternoon for a walk.

The young Rhone, still called “Rotten” in Goms, winds its way through unspoiled natural and cultural landscapes. Picturesque villages with baroque churches, fragrant Swiss stone pine forests, and flower-filled meadows buzzing with insects accompany you on your journey through the sunny high valley.

The main valley of Valais opens up more and more, and the sun warms the dry slopes of the surrounding mountains. Between Leuk and Sierre, you briefly leave the Rhone Route and cycle through the vineyards to a local winery. After a pleasant wine tasting, you continue your ride and finally reach today's destination, Sierre.

The capital city of Sion boasts striking castles, ancient churches, and stately mansions. In the lower Rhone Valley, the Dents-du-Midi dominates the impressive high alpine backdrop. The region is known for its productive orchards and extensive vineyards, which define the landscape.

High above Martigny, a round tower watches over the Rhone bend, while St-Maurice preserves its important church treasure at the narrowest point of the valley. The route offers an exciting alternation between high mountains and lowlands. Behind the reed beds, the vastness of Lake Geneva finally opens up, before Chillon Castle, an imposing fortress that seems to rise directly out of the water, appears.
You will spend the night in Vevey (category A) or Montreux (category B).

Lake Geneva looks like a small, silvery sea surrounded by snow-capped peaks and the famous vineyards of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Lavaux. Along the shore are towns such as Vevey and Montreux, before you reach the lively city of Lausanne – the “Olympic city” and a central meeting place for life in the canton of Vaud.
Overnight stays are in Prangins (category A) or Nyon (category B).

The further you follow the shores of Lake Geneva, the rarer the freely accessible sections of the shore become. Instead, elegant villas, well-kept parks, and impressive marinas increasingly dominate the landscape. These changes already give you an idea that you are approaching a major metropolis.
Soon, the view opens up to the cosmopolitan city of Geneva, whose wide boulevards, international atmosphere, and famous sights characterize the cityscape. Both a landmark and a point of orientation is the Jet d'eau, the imposing water fountain that rises about 140 meters above the lake and impresses visitors and locals alike.

Today, your wonderful cycling tour ends after breakfast at the hotel. We would be happy to book additional nights in Geneva for you.
