tour description

Cycling and rafting on croatian Islands

This adventure Cruise in Southern Dalmatia is a family-friendly island hopping in particular. Spend a week on board of a charming motor glider that will take you from island to island. Instead of staying in full harbors, you'll spend the night in quiet bays. Decide every day anew, whether you would like to take a short bike or hiking tour, make a rafting trip, stroll extensively in a unique harbor town of the Adriatic or just relax on board. Explore southern Dalmatia, one of the most beautiful regions of Croatia. The islands of Brac, Korcula, Vis and Hvar are just as much interesting as the historic harbor town of Trogir. On board is a tour guide, who will show you how to enjoy your day active or relaxed. He will tell you little stories and legends about the UNESCO protected cultural treasures of Croatia. Besides you will have wonderful opportunities to jump off the boat right into the sea.

Premium Ship San Snova

The wooden motor cruiser San Snova, 31 x 8 m in size, took to the water in 2009 and has worked exclusively with Islandhopping ever since. This magnificent construction took shape over the course of three years and sets a milestone in the boat building scene in Croatia as it is the last wooden boat of its kind to be built. The 14 guest’s cabins are welcoming and equipped with air conditioning and a private shower/WC. The salon and its wooden finish provides a comfortable and friendly atmosphere, supported by the many seating arrangements on deck as well as the possibility to lie comfortably on the sun deck. The crew on board pay special attention to cleanliness and maintenance on board and radiate a friendly and inviting atmosphere to the guests on board.

1. day Embarkation Trogir - Island of Vis

Individual arrival by car to Trogir or by plane to Split airport, which is about 6 km/3.5 mi. away from the harbour of Trogir. After check in on the motor yacht (at around 2:30 pm) the first cruise starts around 3 pm from Trogir to the Island of Vis. On the way we have the opportunity to take a refreshing swim from the boat. The first night is spent on the Island of Vis.

2. day Islands of Vis and Korčula, approx. 10 km

In the morning you will embark on an exciting bike tour on Vis, which will take you past a system of tunnels laid out by Tito and stretching across the entire island to the fortress of St. George, which played an important role in the history of Vis' seafaring. Upon your return on board, your ship weighs anchor and heads towards the island of Hvar, finally stopping in a beautiful bay. Here you take a long swim in the Adriatic Sea and then spend a peaceful night under the stars.

3. day Island Hvar

We go on a morning crossing to Hvar Island with its island capital Hvar town. After arrival we take a city tour across the large Renaissance Square which is surrounded by the cathedral and many late gothic palaces. We are able to hike to the Spanish fortress that towers above the town. From here we have a fabulous view onto the city and the surrounding islands. With lunch on board, we cast off from Hvar and anchor in the Pakleni Islands for a lengthy swim stop. In the afternoon we cruise to the city of Stari Grad on the island of Hvar.

4. day Island of Hvar and Brač, approx. 13 km or 25 km

Today we cruise to the famous ‘Golden Horn’ Beach in Bol on the island of Brač. Here we can choose between a variety of activities both in the water and on land (not included in the tour price) or just enjoy the summer morning swimming and chilling on deck. During lunch on board, we cruise to the town of Jelsa on the island of Hvar where we can enjoy a bike tour along the beautiful seafront promenade through Vrboska, past the UNESCO Stari Grad Plains. Decide for yourself if you wish to do a longer or shorter version of the cycle tour. Enjoy the evening on board with a captains dinner and celebrate a successful day!

5. day Islands of Brac, approx. 1.5h by foot

Spend the morning completely on board with a longer crossing to Lovrečina on the island of Brač. On the beach of Lovrečina, all small and big island hoppers are later invited to a varied beach Olympics and extensive bathing fun. In the afternoon you can expect a 1.5 hour hike along the coast to Postira. Here you can later end an eventful day in one of the cozy bars at the port.

6. day Split - Cetina Canyon

While you have breakfast, the ship takes you to Split, where today you have the choice, after a bus transfer, to take part in a rafting tour (not included in the tour price) on the Cetina or to join a walk on the Marjan mountain, which is the most popular local recreation area is the resident of Split. Afterwards there is time for an extensive bathing break with some games on the beach. In the afternoon, take an exciting tour of the UNESCO-protected old town of Split, which was built into the famous palace of the Roman Emperor Diocletian.

7. day Island of Šolta – Trogir, approx. 8km

In the first half of the day we can cycle on the island of Šolta to Goran, a local beekeeper to participate in an interactive workshop on bees, their purpose, products and the life of a beekeeper. Goran is an expert in capturing the fascination of young and old with the enthusiasm he has for the bees which he keeps. We return to Rogač where the boat waits. Lunch will be enjoyed on board during the last crossing by boat for the week as the captain charters his course back to Trogir. Along the way the anchor is droped for an enjoyable dip in the Adria directly from the boat. In the afternoon we enjoy Trogir by taking a walk through the UNESCO protected old town. Traditionally the last evening before disembarkation is spent cheerfully with guests, crew and guides.

8. day Disembarkation Trogir

Arriving by plane is the fastest, cheapest and most comfortable way to get to Trogir. The nearest airport is Split (SPU). It is only 6 km away from the port in Trogir. To get from Split airport to the port in Trogir, we recommend using a taxi. A taxi ride costs around 25 euros. You can also use the regular bus number 37, which leaves right in front of the airport building towards Trogir and takes about 15 minutes. A bus ticket costs about 2.50 euros per person.

If you cannot find a suitable flight to Split, you have the option of flying to Dubrovnik or Zadar as an alternative, from where we can offer you an individual transfer (on request). You can research and book flight offers for example at:

Arrival by car

Munich - Salzburg (130 km), Salzburg - Villach (180 km), Villach - Ljubljana (100 km), Ljubljana - Rijeka (130 km): Motorway behind Ljubljana to the Kozina exit, then continue on the country road to Rijeka. From Rijeka to Trogir: along the main road to Senj, there turn towards the motorway to Split (300 km, approx. 5 hours).

Parking options in Trogir:

In Trogir, we will be happy to organize a secure parking space for you on a private property near the port upon prior notification. Parking costs 50 euros per week, payable locally upon arrival. Please reserve the parking space in good time before you start your journey. Please note: There is no insurance in Croatia that insures your vehicle against theft and burglary in the parking spaces provided by us. Damage of this kind is only covered by the local comprehensive insurance. If you have booked a parking space, ask one of the tour guides at the ships when you arrive. He will guide you to a guide who will drive ahead of your car, guiding you safely to the parking lot. After you have parked your car, the pilot will take you back to the ship in his car.

Arrival by train

Rijeka train station is very close to the port. It is approx. 1,000 meters to the ferry, which you can easily walk to. There is also a taxi rank in front of the train station. You will also find luggage storage at the train station in case you arrive earlier. From the ferry port in Split, take a bus or taxi to Trogir (approx. 20 km or 30 minutes). Please find out about the current train and ferry departure times at or in your travel agency. Please also note that it is unfortunately not possible to take your own bicycle with you on the night train from Munich to Rijeka.

Airport transfer

An airport transfer from Split, Dubrovnik or Zadar airport to the port of Trogir on the day of embarkation and back to your airport on the day of disembarkation or individual transfers can be organized on request.

You can undertake the bike tours offered with the local guidance of your tour guide. The tours do not require any special physical condition from the participant. The walks and small hikes take place on good paths, some of which are even paved, and also do not represent any major exertion. Should special activities require more fitness, the tour guide will point this out in advance. Helmets are compulsory on the bike tours. Please bring your own well-fitting helmet. A limited number of rental helmets are available on the ship (prior reservation required).

Available rental bikes

There are 24-speed trekking bikes available as women's (medium step-up) and men's bikes, as well as unisex electric bikes with 11-speed derailleur gears and low step-through or somewhat sportier unisex 9-speed hybrid e-bikes with a slightly higher step-through.

The accompanying cook is a member of the crew and prepares an extensive breakfast and one or two warm meals daily. Meals include 2 x full board and 5 x half board. It starts with dinner on embarkation day and ends with breakfast on disembarkation day.

If the cabins are occupied by three people, we grant a 50% discount on the basic travel price for the third person (e.g. a child). If the cabin is above deck, we do not charge an above-deck surcharge for the third person.
