The MS De Holland was completely renovated in winter 2017/2018. With a length of approx. 78.3 m and a width of approx. 7.3 m, the MS De Holland is a small and cosy cruise ship. There are 33 outside cabins for a maximum of 66 guests. There are a total of 23 cabins on the lower deck and 9 cabins and one suite on the upper deck. The twin cabins on the lower deck are all approx. 10 square metres in size. They are equipped with adjustable air conditioning, a ventilation system, a small wardrobe, digital TV, mini safe, hairdryer, 230 V sockets and a bathroom with washbasin, shower, WC and toiletries. There is a window (approx. 80 x 40 cm), but this cannot be opened for safety reasons. All cabins have two single beds set up as a double bed, although three of the twin cabins have two single beds set up in an L-shape and a folding bed as an optional third bed.

The 9 twin cabins and the suite on the upper deck have the same facilities as the twin cabins on the lower deck, although the suite is significantly larger at approx. 13 square metres. All cabins on the upper deck have a French balcony (floor-to-ceiling glazed sliding door) instead of a window. The beds in all upper deck cabins are set up as double beds (160 x 200 cm), but can also be set up as two single beds on request (please specify when booking). The upper deck offers a spacious saloon with WLAN and large panoramic windows. Here you will find the small restaurant, a bar and the lounge with lovely seating areas. The partially covered sun deck with chairs and loungers invites you to linger. The bicycles are stored on a separate part of the deck.

Tour

Embarkation from 2 pm after individual arrival in Bruges. Take a short first cycle tour to explore the city. After dinner and a welcome from the ship's crew, you will have the opportunity to take a short guided tour of Bruges.

First, the boat takes you a short distance from Bruges, where you then hop on your bikes. You cycle through the enchanting landscape along the Ghent-Bruges Canal in Flanders. Ghent awaits you with its impressive city centre and a multitude of sights that are well worth a visit. In the Middle Ages, Ghent was the second largest city in Europe. Your ship moors for the night at the lock in Merelbeke, a suburb of Ghent about 30 minutes by bike from the city centre.

After breakfast in Ghent, get on your bikes and follow the river downstream through a picturesque landscape along the tidal river Scheldt to Dendermonde, where the Dender and Scheldt rivers meet. This section of your journey is undoubtedly a natural highlight. Your ship is moored in Dendermonde today, even overnight, so you can still visit the town in the evening.

Today you follow the course of the Scheldt further downstream via the towns of Temse and Baasrode to Antwerp. The picturesque waterway is the perfect backdrop for a successful cycle and boat trip! Your destination today is the harbour city of Antwerp, which became famous as a trading centre for diamonds in the 15th century and is now considered the world capital of the diamond trade. In Antwerp, you are spoilt for choice as to which sights you would like to visit.

In the morning, your boat will take you across the Scheldt-Rhine Canal to the gigantic Kreekrak lock. Once there, you get on your bikes and explore the "Wouwse Plantage" forest area. Your destination is Tholen, once a small fishing village on an island that has been connected to the mainland since the completion of the delta project. The MS De Holland will then take you to the impressive Volkerak locks and on to Dordrecht, where you will have the opportunity to take a short tour of the city in the evening.

Take the "Waterbus" to Alblasserdam, where your cycle tour starts today. You cycle quickly to Kinderdijk with its 19 famous windmills standing in a row. You then cycle on via Schoonhoven to Vianen an der Lek, where your boat docks overnight. After dinner, you have time to explore the town.

You enjoy your breakfast and the MS De Holland takes you to Breukelen. Once there, your last cycle tour begins along the picturesque River Vecht. Marvel at the numerous manor houses, small castles and magnificent country houses. You cycle through Nieuwersluis, Loenen and Vreeland and on to Nigtevecht. Here you have the opportunity to visit a traditional cheese dairy before setting off for the fortified town of Muiden and on to Amsterdam. Your ship will be waiting for you there. You will spend your last evening in Amsterdam. Make the most of the time and visit Amsterdam and all its sights.

Ihre Reise endet hier. Die Ausschiffung erfolgt bis 9:30 Uhr, danach treten Sie ihre individuelle Heimreise an.

Itinerary and program changes:

The planned route is always subject to possible changes due to nautical, meteorological or organisational reasons. If, for example, a route cannot be travelled due to low water, high water, bad weather or construction work, the captain reserves the right to change the route for your safety. This is not a legally valid reason for cancelling the trip free of charge. The same applies in the event of officially ordered lock or bridge repairs or in the event of engine or propulsion damage to the ship through no fault of the captain.

As your ship usually sails to the next harbour on the same day, your time frame for your own activities and sightseeing is limited. On some bridges, the clearance height is so low that the sun deck is closed for your safety.

2025: SGR Guaranteefund:

For this trip, there is a fee of 5.00 euros per traveller for the SGR guarantee fund. This fee is mandatory in the Netherlands and will be shown separately on the invoice.
