From Zittau to Usedom Island
The Oder-Neisse Cycle Route is the easternmost long-distance cycle route in Germany and runs directly along the border with Poland. The 640 km long cycle route is well developed, excellently signposted and was therefore selected as a model route for the Germany-wide long-distance cycle route network on the initiative of the ADFC. More than 80% of the Oder-Neisse Cycle Route is asphalted and runs on quiet country roads and separate cycle paths, mostly close to the river. Start your cycle tour very close to the source of the Neisse in Zittau with its picturesque old town. On the Neisse Cycle Route, you cycle gently up and down from one sight to the next. You will discover the Baroque Marienthal Monastery, the historic old town of Görlitz, the absolutely stunning Fürst-Pückler-Park in Bad Muskau and Neuzelle Monastery with its Baroque collegiate church. From Frankfurt/Oder, you will have a new companion, as you will now be following the wonderfully flat Oder Cycle Route. Marvel at the ship lift in Niederfinow and Chorin Monastery. The cycle path takes you through the endless expanse of the Lower Oder Valley National Park to the Baltic Sea, where the holiday island of Usedom beckons as the final highlight. Overall, the Oder-Neisse Cycle Route is one of the most popular long-distance cycle routes in Germany. The route was even classified as a quality route by the ADFC in 2009.
