During this radial tour you will discover the most beautiful parts of the Lüneburg Heath. It has previously inspired many poets and painters, is a perfect place for romantic people and has lost none of its charm. Heather plants cover the ground in many places, alternate with pine forests, meadows and fields. Heathland sheep graze in the open countryside and charming small towns and villages blend harmoniously into the overall picture. Experience this beautiful scenery in the saddle when cycling on wonderful bike paths around the town of Schneverdingen Heath Heide. Discover the small village Wilsede, which you can reach by bike or carriage, visit the over 300 year old Waldsiedlung Ehrhorn No.1, whose buildings are grouped under thick oak trees around the village square. Stroll through beautiful cottage gardens, you discover original fruit to large orchards and visit a particularly beautiful heather garden with about 120,000 plants and 130 different heath locations, just a few kilometers away from the hotel.
Your Hotel: Landhotel Schnuck
The Landhotel Schnuck was opened in 1992 and renovated in 2003 and 2009. Since then, it has been a favorite place for people who want to spend a peaceful or sporting holiday in the beautiful Lüneburg Heath. The hotel is a central starting point for leisure and sports activities in the area. The 128 tasteful rooms have shower / WC or bath / WC, minibar, telephone and TV. For families up to max. 5 persons are larger rooms available. In addition to the "Findlinger" restaurant, the guests of the hotel also have a full selection of meals in the bistro bar. 1. day Schneverdingen arrival
Look forward to Schneverdingen! You will find heather and juniper bushes, cozy tranquility and merry bustle, tradition, art and culture. At 'Heidegarten Schneverdingen am Höpen' very many different varieties of heath is blooming. Whenever you come a flowering variety awaits you. Maybe you get inspired to make a carriage ride through the Lüneburg Heath.
2. day To the center of Lüneburg Heath 31 km
Just a few kilometers you cycle, than already there is a sign "Welcome to the jewel in the Heath, Welcome to the Forest Adventure Ehrhorn". Ehrhorn is a small forest settlement and former farmstead, which is now over 300 years old. The loose ensemble of various buildings is grouped under thick oak trees around the village square. Center is the exhibition space, which emerged as part of the World Exhibition EXPO 2000. Enjoy the peace and serenity of the place and go on an expedition. Explore on your own or with the assistance of the ant-lion "Wezi" the 3.5 km long trail, watch in a large "Formicarium" ants at work and take a look in the "insect village Ehrhorn". After rewarding break you cycle through forest and heath areas to Niederhaverbeck and from there through the valley of Haverbeeke back to Schneverdingen.
3. day Watermill Lünzen and Fintel 32 km
Today you cycle through the valley of the Veerse to the watermill in Lünzen. Marvel at the historic mill, which was first mentioned in 1587. Only in 1979, the last tenant stopped with the milling. Today the mill technology is fully obtained with a functioning water wheel. Then you will cycle to the municipality of Fintel, where an attractive tour through the typical heath village is offered. From here you cycle back along the Haswede and Osterwede to Schneverdingen.
4. day Soltau - Schneverdingen 42 km
Comfortably start your day because the train will take you in only 15 minutes to Soltau. Look forward to the remarkable City Hall and the Museum of Games. With one of the best toy collections in the world and many interactive games the museum is an attraction for young and old alike. Through Wieheholz you will cycle through the southern Osterheide to the courtyard Möhr, a heath farm that was cultivated until 1977. Stroll through the beautiful cottage garden and discover original fruit on the large orchard. Follow the trail "De Uhlenstieg" and discover valuable old trees. Through the wide forest area of Böhmheide you cycle back to the hotel.
5. day Heath Garden Höpen 30 km
Today you can visit a heather garden of superlatives. Approximately 120,000 plants and around 130 different kinds of heath have their place here and present throughout the year its impressive splendor. On the southern edge of the protected landscape Höpener Heide and Höpener Mountain, just minutes from the center of Schneverdingen, in front of an old sheepfold is this particularly magnificent heather garden located. Marvel at the meticulously and lovingly crafted Rondell, where around 80,000 garden heath plants grow. Get an overview of the plants and flowers from the observation deck and marvel at the surrounding landscape conservation area Höpen with its own special seasonal charms. Large heaths with distinctive juniper trees, forest islands, beehives and grazing moorland characterize the face of the beautiful countryside.
6. day Schneverdingen departure
Time is flying. For all Heath fans who still want to stay, we are happy to extend your stay in Schneverdingen.

Arrival by train
The train station in Schneverdingen is about 2km away from the hotel. The train station Soltau is about 15km away from the hotel, it takes about 25 minutes with a taxi (app. 30EUR).
Parking facilities at the hotel
The hotels has a large car park, which can be used free of charge.
Conditions of cycle paths
The route is mostly on economic routes as well as on small roads and cycle paths. On the way, you sometimes come across slightly hilly, unspoilt forest paths, some of them also sandways.
Available rental bikes
You can choose from 7-speed unisex wheels with coaster brake (not recommended due to the route) or 21-speed derailleur and freewheel. All unisex wheels have a deep walk-through and are available in different frame sizes. The unisex wheels are suitable for all bikers from 148 cm height. Furthermore, men's bikes (from 185cm) and 8-speed e-bikes with coaster brake are available on request.
Touring information and rental bike
On the day of arrival, there will be an information meeting in the evening in the start hotel. Here also possibly rented bicycles are handed out.
Extracoast which are not included in the price
A possibly resulting tourist tax is not part of the travel price and has to be paid in the hotel locally. Visitor's tax is payable in Lüneburg and Schneverdingen. Each € 1, - to € 2, - per person / night (changes are possible).

The tour price already includes the statutory insolvency insurance. Natural Park Lüneburg Heath
The Natural Park Lüneburg Heath invites you to an exciting discovery trip. Explore unique trees, bubbling springs, wide open landscapes and wonderful views.
The romantic town of Wilsede, which can only be reached on foot, by bike or by coach - motor vehicle traffic is not allowed in the nature reserve Lüneburger Heide - is located in the heart of this oldest nature reserve in Germany. Here you can experience the heath from its most beautiful side and during the heathland in the late summer, several thousand visitors visit this small place, where only a small number of 40 inhabitants is at home.
Forest experience Ehrhorn
With the opening of an exhibition in the year 2000 as an EXPO project of the world exhibition in Hannover, the Forest experience Ehrhorn has established itself as an attractive meeting place for visitors to the Lüneburg Heath. The former agricultural court is 350 years old and is situated on the edge of a wooded dune landscape. The spacious and freely accessible terrain in the middle of the protected nature area exudes peace and serenity.

Explore our 3.5 km long adventure trail on your own or with the assistance of the antean lion "Wezi". Observe our ants at work in a large "formicarium". Take a look at our "Insektorf Ehrhorn" or just relax under the old farmyards.

At two locations on a total of 900 square meteres the museum is one of the best and most diverse collections of toys in the world. And: Here you can not only look, but also listen, feel, try and play - an experience for the whole family!
Heath garden Höpen
At the gates of the Heidenblütenstadt and directly behind the last houses in the north of Schneverdingens is the landscape conservation area Höpen.
Here you will find everything that is so typical of the Lüneburg Heath: beautiful heath surfaces, birch trees, juniper trees and beehive baskets. Follow the numerous paths, explore the landscape on foot, by bike or on the carriage and with a bit of luck you will also meet the shepherd with his heathland. At the center of the circular garden is a roundabout in which around 75 different garden heath plants grow. A good view of the complex is offered by the viewing platform. The garden is open to the public at any time. It is recommended to participate in a 2-hour guided hike, which includes a visit to the heath garden.
