Round trip Lüneburg Heath
Romanticists, nature lovers and cultural lovers - they all love the Lüneburg Heath, just as Hermann Löns had done. Heidschnucken, who are serenely grazing in wide countryside, recreational parks, which tell stories and promise adventure, old half-timbered house and a station as an art object in Uelzen.
Get on the bike and "experience" the Lüneburg Heath. Using pedals, this varied landscape of the largest Lower Saxon rice region can be explored more intensively in 8 days. The well signposted cycle paths lead you almost by itself through the flat Lüneburger Heide.
1. day Lüneburg arrival
Individual arrival to Lüneburg to the starting point of a varied bike tour through the Lüneburg Heath. In the late afternoon, a personal welcome awaits you combined with a briefing and the issue of the rental bikes (if booked). The evening will be at your free disposal. Stroll through the characteristic streets of Lüneburg, with its historic architecture that contrasts sharply with the otherwise lively, young university town.
2. day Lüneburg - Uelzen 55 km
Pink, red, purple? The typical moorland landscape will accompany you once more today! Uelzen is proud of its numerous medieval churches and chapels and make a stop at the "Hundertwasser-train station Uelzen". It is one of the most beautiful ones in the world. In the context of the Expo 2000 it was rebuilt in the style of Friedensreich Hundertwasser.
3. day Uelzen - Celle 60 km
The never-ending width of the moorlands, the forests, juniper bushes and moors lead you to Celle. 480 remodeled half-timbered houses can be seen in the Old-town, the castle in the style of the Weser-renaissance is just as worthwhile.
4. day Celle - Hermannsburg 40 km
Today you will cycle through the natural park of the Southern Moorlands. Along the romantic little river Örtze small wooden bridges invite you to linger. Look forward to Hermannsburg, which has more than 1000 years of history. From here missionaries were sent to various parts of the world. To this day, the place is shaped by this section of history. Visit the Ludwig-Harms-Haus, as an exhibition conveys impressions from the work of the Hermannsburg Mission in many countries of the world. Overnight in Hermannsburg / surroundings.
5. day Hermannsburg - Soltau 49 km
Through the natural park of the Southern Moorlands you cycle further on to Soltau. The inhabitants call Soltau "the heart of the heath". If you are out for action today a visit of the Heide-Park will be just perfect! More than 40 attractions and breath-taking shows will arrange for your entertainment. The thermae however invites to relax, it is one of Northern Germanys nicest adventure pools. Anyone crazy for toys should visit the toy museum where 350 pieces from 4 decades are displayed.
6. day Soltau - Schneverdingen 35 km
Through small villages like Wiedeholz, Möhr and Wolterdingen today you cycle back to the state-approved health resort Schneverdingen. Visit the Peter and Paul Church, which has been the city's landmark since 1746 and the Heidegarten. In this unique in Germany garden you can admire the variety of different heaths. Completed in 1990, the heather garden has grown steadily. Climb the observation tower and admire the large, circular main bed with the four cardinal points as well as the Schneverdingen coat of arms. You will be astonished how exactly the presentation with the heather plants succeeded.
7. day Schneverdingen - Lüneburg 50 - 65 km
Through impressive moorland you cycle to Lüneburg. Heaths, pine forests and heathlands characterize the vastness of the landscape here. They ride the Wilseder mountain by bike and roll through small romantic hamlets. Look forward to Lüneburg, discover this young university town with its baroque town hall, the picturesque center and the numerous beautiful brick buildings.
8. day Lüneburg Departure
Today it is time to say goodbye to the colors of the heath. We would be happy to book an extension for you.

Arrival by train
Lüneburg is easily accessible from Bremen by train. We recommend to take a taxi from the station to get to our partner hotels in Lüneburg. Current schedule information and price information can be found at:
Parking facilities at the hotel
You can park your car in the underground garage for the duration of the journey. The cost is about 10 euros per day. Reservation is not possible, parking is subject to availability. Free parking is available in the surrounding area. Detailed information about the parking facilities is available with the travel documents approx. 2 weeks before arrival.
Condition of cycle paths
Easy to moderate. The route runs mostly on farm roads and small roads and bike paths. On the way, you will sometimes encounter slightly hilly, unpaved forest roads, occasionally sand paths.
Available rental bikes
You can choose from 7-speed unisex wheels with coaster brake (not recommended due to the route) or 21-speed derailleur and freewheel. All unisex wheels have a deep walk-through and are available in different frame sizes. The unisex wheels are suitable for all bikers from 148 cm height. Furthermore, men's bikes (from 185cm) and 8-speed e-bikes with coaster brake are available on request.
Tourinformation and bike rental
On the day of arrival the information meeting takes place in the start hotel. Here also rented bicycles are handed out.

Coast which are not included in the travel price
A possibly resulting tourist tax is not part of the travel price and has to be paid in the hotel locally. Visitor's tax is payable in Lüneburg and Schneverdingen. Each € 1, - to € 2, - per person / night (changes are possible).

Passport and visa requirements, health regulations
For EU citizens, there are no special passport or visa requirements and no health formalities to be considered for this trip.
The tour price already includes the statutory insolvency insurance. In addition, we recommend that you take out travel cancellation insurance upon receipt of your travel confirmation in order to protect yourself against financial disadvantages in the event of travel cancellation, interruption of travel, illness or accident.

German Salt Museum Lüneburg
Everybody knows salt! In a permanent exhibition the German Salt Museum brings visitors closer to the small white granule. Experience the salt-works-town or learn more about the region of Lüneburg and its projects.
Take a trip to the "Hundertwasser-Bahnhof Uelzen", one of the most beautiful in the world, and experience the genius of the Viennese artist in the guided tours.
The oldest building of Celles is the Celler Castle. 1318 referred to as "castrum" for the first time, it comes in its oldest parts from the second half of the 13th century. In the course of time, the initially simple castle was converted into an elaborate four-wing system and extended.
Renaissance and Baroque are a distinctive mixture.
A very special natural experience is the Pietzmoor, which extends as a Hochmoorlandschaft in the south of Schneverdingen.
The Heidschnucke - one of the landmarks of the Lüneburg Heath - is a small-scale sheep. From May to October you can observe the Schnuckenaustrieb around 10.30 am and the Schnuckeneintrieb between 5.00 pm and 5.30 pm on the shed in the Höpen (Heide-Kiosk car park).
