Individual arrival to Lüneburg to the starting point of a varied bike tour through the Lüneburg Heath. In the late afternoon, a personal welcome awaits you combined with a briefing (German) and the issue of the rental bikes (if booked). The evening will be at your free disposal. Stroll through the characteristic streets of Lüneburg, with its historic architecture that contrasts sharply with the otherwise lively, young university town.
Pink, red, purple? The typical moorland landscape will accompany you once more today! Uelzen is proud of its numerous medieval churches and chapels and make a stop at the "Hundertwasser-train station Uelzen". It is one of the most beautiful ones in the world. In the context of the Expo 2000 it was rebuilt in the style of Friedensreich Hundertwasser.
The never-ending width of the moorlands, the forests, juniper bushes and moors lead you to Celle. 480 remodeled half-timbered houses can be seen in the Old-town, the castle in the style of the Weser-renaissance is just as worthwhile.
Today you will cycle through the natural park of the Southern Moorlands. Along the romantic little river Örtze small wooden bridges invite you to linger. Look forward to Hermannsburg, which has more than 1000 years of history. From here missionaries were sent to various parts of the world. To this day, the place is shaped by this section of history. Visit the Ludwig-Harms-Haus, as an exhibition conveys impressions from the work of the Hermannsburg Mission in many countries of the world. Overnight in Hermannsburg / surroundings.
Through the natural park of the Southern Moorlands you cycle further on to Soltau. The inhabitants call Soltau "the heart of the heath". If you are out for action today a visit of the Heide-Park will be just perfect! More than 40 attractions and breath-taking shows will arrange for your entertainment. The thermae however invites to relax, it is one of Northern Germanys nicest adventure pools. Anyone crazy for toys should visit the toy museum where 350 pieces from 4 decades are displayed.
Through small villages like Wiedeholz, Möhr and Wolterdingen today you cycle back to the state-approved health resort Schneverdingen. Visit the Peter and Paul Church, which has been the city's landmark since 1746 and the Heidegarten. In this unique in Germany garden you can admire the variety of different heaths. Completed in 1990, the heather garden has grown steadily. Climb the observation tower and admire the large, circular main bed with the four cardinal points as well as the Schneverdingen coat of arms. You will be astonished how exactly the presentation with the heather plants succeeded.
Through impressive moorland you cycle to Lüneburg. Heaths, pine forests and heathlands characterize the vastness of the landscape here. They ride the Wilseder mountain by bike and roll through small romantic hamlets. Look forward to Lüneburg, discover this young university town with its baroque town hall, the picturesque center and the numerous beautiful brick buildings.

Arrival by train

Parking facilities at the hotel
You can park your car in the underground garage for the duration of the journey. The cost is about 12,00 € per day. Reservation is not possible, parking is subject to availability. Free, unguarded parking spaces are available in the immediate vicinity.

Condition of cycle paths
Easy to moderate. The route runs mostly on farm roads and small roads and bike paths. On the way, you will sometimes encounter slightly hilly, unpaved forest roads, occasionally sand paths.
Available rental bikes
Comfortable touring bikes with hub gears and coaster brakes or derailleur gears without coaster brakes. Electric bikes are also available. Simply specify your bike preference when booking.
Extra costs, which are not included in the travel price
A possible tourist tax and charging fees for bicycle batteries are also not included in the tour price and must therefore be paid at the hotel on site.

Passport and visa requirements
For EU citizens, there are no special passport or visa requirements and no health formalities to be considered for this trip.
Travel insurance
The tour price already includes the statutory insolvency insurance. In addition, we recommend that you take out travel cancellation insurance upon receipt of your travel confirmation in order to protect yourself against financial disadvantages in the event of travel cancellation, interruption of travel, illness or accident.
For this trip, we recommend using digital travel documents in the spirit of sustainability. However, you can still select printed travel documents with a cycling map during the booking process if you wish.
