The family-run comfort hotel "am Jungfernstieg" is situated in a quiet location in the central area of Stralsund in the immediate vicinity of the main train station as well as the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the old town of Stralsund. The hotel was completely rebuilt in 2005 and has a total of 36 rooms. These are all bright, friendly and comfortably furnished - some with a beautiful view of the old town and the Knieperteich. In our category B you stay in 24-26 sqm large standard - rooms with a very good equipment in a tasteful ambience. Each room is equipped with a double bed, which can be separated if desired.

Shower/ WC/ hair dryer, free W-Lan, desk, direct dial telephone, cable TV/ radio, and soundproof windows are part of the equipment. In our category A you will stay in large comfort rooms with warm colors and a fantastic view of the old town of Stralsund. Here, too, the double beds can be set up separately if desired. The bathroom is equipped with a bathtub or shower/WC/ and hairdryer. Free W-Lan, desk, direct dial telephone, cable TV and radio are part of the basic equipment. Your own bicycles and rental bikes are safely stored in the hotel's bicycle cellar.

Tour

From the hotel you are in the worth seeing old town in about 5 minutes. Marvel again and again at all the sights, at St. Mary's Church, City Hall and Alter Markt. You should also not miss a visit to the German Oceanographic Museum/ Ozeaneum. If you have booked rental bikes, they will be ready for you in the hotel from the afternoon.

Your round trip starts through the scenically rather flat southwest of the island of Rügen, past the Rambiner salt marshes to the quiet Kubitzer Bodden. You cycle past the 9 mountains (Bronze Age graves near Götemitz) to Poseritz and Gustow. In Rambin you have the opportunity to stop at the Pommernkate or the local island brewery and taste regional specialties on your own. Afterwards you will cycle through southern Rügen on quiet cycle paths back to Stralsund.

You will start today's stage with a wonderful boat trip to the small and famous island of Hiddensee. Explore by bike the small village of Kloster on Hiddensee, today with its museum of local history, island church and Hauptmann House the cultural center of the island and at the same time a seaside resort, artists' colony and farming village. Marvel at the 28 m high Hiddensee lighthouse and watch cranes, geese, ducks and wading birds in peace and quiet before returning to Stralsund by ship.

Today you will travel by train to Saßnitz on the island of Rügen. Be sure to visit the worth seeing Marienkirche and the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt tower. Enjoy the beautiful cycling stage on the narrow, pine-covered stretch of land between the Baltic Sea and the Great and Small Jasmund Bodden. Quickly you are now in the Königstuhl National Park. Directly at the famous chalk cliff and the UNESCO World Heritage Old Beech Forests, the National Park Center with 2000 square meters of exhibition space and 28,000 square meters of outdoor area offers a very special experience. Afterwards you cycle via Sassnitz and Prora to the seaside resort Binz. From Binz you roll back to Stralsund by train.

Today the train takes you from Stralsund to Ahlbeck on Usedom. Look forward to this vacation island worth seeing. Explore with pleasure the three beautiful sisters, the imperial seaside resorts of Ahlbeck, Heringsdorf and Bansin, which are interconnected by a kilometer-long beach promenade. What a wonderful cycling route! You continue cycling north, through coastal forests, over cliffs and along dikes mostly always near the beach with plenty of swimming opportunities. If you like, you can cross from Peenemünde to Freest on the mainland or take the excursion boats and extend the bike route to Greifswald. By train you return comfortably to Stralsund either from Wolgast (after approx. 40 km cycling distance) or from Greifswald (after approx. 75 km cycling distance). Rail travel today on your own, not included in the price.

Look forward to this coastal tour. You will cycle along the Strelasund to Klausdorf and then along the Bodden coast. Make a stop on the way for bird watching, from a special hut you have a good view of the reed and water area all the way to Zingst. A detour to the crane information center in Groß Mohrdorf is also really worthwhile.

After breakfast, take the train to the famous town of Ribnitz-Damgarten. Be sure to visit the amber museum here before you get on your bikes. Through vast pine forests, along the most beautiful beaches and along the Hochuferweg you cycle to the artist colony Ahrenshoop. Let yourself be enchanted by the colorful houses and take a break in one of the nice cafes. On the Bodden side you cycle on quiet paths over the Darß to Born and Wiek to the Baltic seaside resort of Prerow. Plan a short trip to the west beach, you will be rewarded with a wild romantic coastal landscape. Afterwards you cycle slightly elevated on the dike cycle path to the pretty Baltic seaside resort of Zingst. Strengthen yourself at a worthwhile break for your last cycling kilometers to Barth, where you board the train to Stralsund.

Much too quickly the beautiful time passed. There was an infinite amount to see and discover. We would be happy to book you additional nights in Stralsund, on Rügen or Hiddensee.

Condition of the cycle paths

You cycle mostly on developed cycle paths and side roads with little traffic, rather rarely on hiking trails and field paths. The island of Rügen is slightly hilly, to the Granitz hunting lodge you cycle on a cobblestone path, and to the Königstuhl partly on a lightly traveled side road through the forest.

The route is well and uniformly signposted throughout.

Available rental bikes

You have the choice between ladies' and men's touring bikes with back-pedalling or freewheel (both with hub gears).

The touring bikes with back-pedalling have 7 or 8 gears (depending on availability).

The touring bikes with freewheel have 7 gears. On request and depending on availability, we can also offer 24-speed touring bikes with freewheel. The request for 24 gears will then be noted, but cannot be guaranteed.

We also offer 7/8-speed electric bikes (all women's bikes) with freewheel or coaster brake (subject to availability).

Extra costs, which are not included in the tour price

A possible tourism tax is not part of the travel price and therefore payable at the hotel on site.
