The essentials at a glance

Radial cycling tour around Lake Geneva with base in Prangins. Daily excursions include a boat trip to Yvoire in France, visits to Geneva and the UNESCO Lavaux vineyards, and a ride through Vallée de Joux with ascent to Col du Marchairuz. Routes follow quiet side roads with some climbs in Lavaux and Vallée de Joux. Includes boat transfer, vehicle transfer to Le Pont, and SwitzerlandMobility Plus subscription. Easy to moderate difficulty.

Sparkling water, sweeping mountain views, and the special atmosphere of Lake Geneva accompany you on your bike tours - as does the contrast between lively towns and quiet, almost hidden valleys. And it's not just culture and pleasure lovers who get their money's worth: the ride through the Vallée de Joux with its long descent down to the lake is one of the most impressive cycle routes in Switzerland, as is a visit to the famous Lavaux wine-growing region. World-famous cities alternate with deserted valleys. A journey full of harmony and variety. Perhaps even your personal dream tour?

Highlights

Geneva
Experience Geneva with the largest historic old town in Switzerland. A city steeped in culture and history awaits you with many museums, parks and, of course, Lake Geneva.

Lausanne
Lausanne is the fourth largest city in Switzerland and is located on the shores of Lake Geneva. Between the lake and mountains, vineyards and forests, it offers history and culture as well as nature experiences.

Lavaux - a UNESCO wine paradise on Lake Geneva
The UNESCO World Heritage Site of Lavaux offers breathtaking views of sparkling Lake Geneva and the Alps. The region can be explored wonderfully by bike or on foot along well-signposted paths. In charming wine-growing villages such as St. Saphorin, Rivaz, or Epesses, traditional wine cellars invite you to taste their wines – a must, especially for lovers of the regional Chasselas. Lavaux combines nature, culture, and enjoyment in a unique way.

Nyon Castle

The striking white Château de Nyon towers above Lake Geneva and dates back to the 12th century. Today it houses a museum of regional history, including the famous Nyon porcelain factory. The inner courtyard and viewing terrace offer fantastic views across the lake to the Alps.

Prangins Castle
The Château de Prangins is a magnificent 18th-century castle and home to the Swiss National Museum for French-speaking Switzerland. Surrounded by one of the largest historic gardens in Switzerland, it features exciting exhibitions on Swiss history and offers an impressive ensemble of architecture, garden art, and cultural experiences.

Tour

After your arrival, you can take it easy—stroll through Prangins, enjoy the day at your hotel, or walk along the shores of Lake Geneva. This is how you get into the vacation spirit.

In the morning, you will take the boat to Yvoire, a small, charming town on the French side of Lake Geneva. From there, you will cycle along picturesque harbors and through pretty villages back towards Switzerland. In Cologny, the famous Jet d'Eau fountain appears on the horizon for the first time, showing you the way to Geneva. Behind the city, you will pass elegant villas and well-kept bathing spots before a short climb takes you up to a hill. Across rolling fields and idyllic villages, you will finally reach Prangins.

First, cycle to Nyon, from where a short train ride (not included) will take you comfortably to Geneva. Take the opportunity to explore this world-famous city at your leisure. Then leave the bustling city center behind and cycle along quiet side roads along the Jura mountain range, high above the sparkling Lake Geneva. Again and again, you will be treated to magnificent views of the water and the snow-capped peaks of the Mont Blanc massif.

First, you cycle to Nyon and take the train to St. Saphorin (not included). This idyllic wine-growing village lies in the heart of the famous Lavaux region, where terraced vineyards rise impressively above the lake. The route then leads uphill through the vineyards with sweeping views before you enjoy a relaxed descent towards Lausanne. Passing the Olympic capital and charming market towns, you finally return to Prangins.

A transfer takes you to Le Pont in the idyllic Vallée de Joux. The deep blue lake lies quietly in the wide valley basin, a region that is one of the most impressive landscapes in Switzerland. From Le Brassus, your route continues up to the Col du Marchairuz. Up here, simple dry stone walls, extensive wooded pastures, and the typical high Jura atmosphere dominate the scene. From the pass, you can enjoy a magnificent view over Lake Geneva before gliding back down into the valley on a long, sweeping descent - a fitting end to your journey.

After breakfast, your time at Lake Geneva will unfortunately come to an end. We would be happy to book an extension of your stay at Lake Geneva for you.
