tour description

Baltic Sea Paradise in the North Men's land.

Your journey through Denmark starts in Rostock. After a 2-hour journey by ferry denmark welcoms you on your first day of biking. Beaches, sea air and sea scent are your constant companion. The islands of Seeland, Møn, Lolland and Falster are among the most popular holiday destinations of the Danish Baltic Sea. Discover quaint fishing villages, castles and manor houses, beautiful beaches, fascinating forests, nature reserves and the famous cliffs of Møn Klint with their glowing rocks. The grand finale of your Danish expedition is the remarkable capital Copenhagen.

1. day Rostock/ Warnemünde arrival

Look forward to Rostock, the starting point for your cycling trip through the Danish island.

2. day Rostock - Nykøbing/ Falster, 42 km

The Scandlines ferry brings you from Rostock Seaport to Gedser on the island of Falster in Denmark (approx. 2 hours). Now your bike tour begins! Via Marielyst you cycle to Nykøbing. On your way you marvel about artisans and small galleries. Enjoy the idyllic location of the small city, stroll through the narrow streets with charming houses from the 17th century, visit the 500 year old monastery church or climb the 47 steps of the distinctive water tower with fantastic views over the Guldborgsund.

3. day Nykøbing - Næstved, 78 km

Across the green south of Zealand you cycle to the Danish west coast Naestved, one of the oldest cities in the country. Take a detour to Gavnø Castle and experience history, art and nature. Overnight stay in Næstved or surroundings.

4. day Næstved - Sorø/Ringsted, 65 km

Today your journey continues northwest through the Great Belt countryside. Beautiful beaches and dune landscapes characterize the picture around the holiday and fishing village of Kaerebaeksminde. You can experience wonderful atmospheres with bathing life, campsites, restaurants and cafés here. The Fisheries and Town Museum takes you through the history of the place. There are art galleries with changing exhibitions in Kaerebaekstorp. The journey then continues inland to your next stop inland. Overnight stay in Sorø or Ringsted.

5. day Sorø/Ringsted - Roskilde, 45-63 km

Today you cycle to the coasts and fjords at Roskilde. First to the Iselfjord and then on to the Roskildefjord. Roskilde Cathedral is the burial place of many Danish kings. In the footsteps of the Vikings, you can row and sail across the fjord from the harbor in replicas of the old Viking ships. Overnight in Roskilde or the surrounding area.

6. day Roskilde - Kopenhagen, 44 km

Your last stage takes you back to the Danish capital by a short route. Perhaps you would like to review your Great Zealand round trip in a cozy café in Copenhagen in the afternoon with Wienerbröd and a cup of coffee. Overnight in Copenhagen.

7. day Excursion Kopenhagen

Today belongs to Copenhagen and its sights. Discover the Danish capital by bike, which is certainly the number 1 means of transport here and has an excellently developed network of cycle paths. tour highlights

The Hansestadt Rostock is a real experience for cultural and city fans, combined with Hanseatic architecture, a wide cultural scene, modern gastronomy and diverse shopping opportunities.

The oldest university in Northern Europe (anno 1418), churches, monasteries, city gates and the omnipresent clinker gothic give an idea of the Hanseatic flair of the past. Numerous museums and cultural offerings in exceptional venues such as a former yard or a former nunnery offer a varied program.

Rostock town hall

The town hall in Rostock is a complex of three houses, dating back to the 13th century. This makes it the oldest preserved building in the city. The Rostock town hall is one of the most important profane clinker gothic buildings in the area of the Baltic Sea, at the same level with the town halls in Lübeck and Stralsund. The medieval construction, however, is largely hidden behind baroque pre-structures and alterations today.

Guided tour in Rostock

The traditional clinker gothic in the historic center of Rostock still reminds us of the once-established power and wealth of the Hanseatic period. Ancient churches, monasteries and city gates create a unique atmosphere that invites you to stroll or to walk around. Get to know Rostock and the seaside resort Warnemünde during guided tours or guided city tours. Encounter testimonies of architecture from then and today, learn more about the city's history and experience maritime sights. Listen to stories from yesterday and today, visit the many different attractive corners of the Hansestadt and the seaside resort and enjoy your stay under expert guidance.

Guided tours

The city is idyllically situated in the countryside at Guldborgsund, many attractions and sights are within walking distance.

Næstved is one of the oldest cities in Denmark and got its city rights already in 1135. Until today the town is known for its lively trade, crafts and cultural life. The history of the city has also remained alive in all its development. In Næstved you will find the oldest town hall of Denmark.

Næstved Museum

Næstved Museum has two departments in the city. One is located in Helligåndshuset in the Ringstedgade where Næstveds story is told, the other one is in Boderne on Kirkeplads. Here you can find exhibitions with Holmegaard glass, Kähler ceramics and Næstved silver.

The city of Roskilde is located only 30 kilometers west of the Danish capital Copenhagen and is the second largest city of the Baltic Sea Island Zealand with almost 47,000 inhabitants. The town center is located on a slope above the Roskildefjord. The city is known for the Roskilde Music Festival, which has been held since 1971 and attracts around 120,000 spectators annually.

Copenhagen has already received several awards as the "most livable city in the world". Reasons for this are: the exciting architecture that characterizes the Danish capital in many places, its many green areas and its clean harbor, where you can even take a bath. With its gabled houses, narrow streets and elegant little towers, Copenhagen has preserved a lovley small town atmosphere. The pretty and kempt Copenhagen is one of the greenest European capitals: a large part of the city center consists of pedestrian zones, there are strict guidelines against pollution and often more bicycles than cars on the streets. Green spaces - among them the world famous Tivoli - are in abundance, and in the summer time, street cafés and restaurants are in high demand.

The little mermaid

The small bronze statue at Copenhagen's promenade "Langelinie" is not only the landmark of Copenhagen. It has now become the Danish national symbol.

Royal Copenhagen

Copenhagen has royal castles, monuments and insignia in abundance. Royal Copenhagen can be explored on foot or by bike.
