Tour

Look forward to Rostock, the starting point for your cycling trip through the Danish island.

The Scandlines ferry brings you from Rostock Seaport to Gedser on the island of Falster in Denmark (approx. 2 hours). Now your bike tour begins! Via Marielyst you cycle to Nykøbing. On your way you marvel about artisans and small galleries. Enjoy the idyllic location of the small city, stroll through the narrow streets with charming houses from the 17th century, visit the 500 year old monastery church or climb the 47 steps of the distinctive water tower with fantastic views over the Guldborgsund.

Across the green south of Zealand you cycle to the Danish west coast Naestved, one of the oldest cities in the country. Take a detour to Gavnø Castle and experience history, art and nature. Overnight stay in Næstved or surroundings.

Today your journey continues northwest through the Great Belt countryside. Beautiful beaches and dune landscapes characterize the picture around the holiday and fishing village of Kaerebaeksminde. You can experience wonderful atmospheres with bathing life, campsites, restaurants and cafés here. The Fisheries and Town Museum takes you through the history of the place. There are art galleries with changing exhibitions in Kaerebaekstorp. The journey then continues inland to your next stop inland. Overnight stay in Sorø or Ringsted.

Today you cycle to the coasts and fjords at Roskilde. First to the Iselfjord and then on to the Roskildefjord. Roskilde Cathedral is the burial place of many Danish kings. In the footsteps of the Vikings, you can row and sail across the fjord from the harbor in replicas of the old Viking ships. Overnight in Roskilde or the surrounding area.

Your last stage takes you back to the Danish capital by a short route. Perhaps you would like to review your Great Zealand round trip in a cozy café in Copenhagen in the afternoon with Wienerbröd and a cup of coffee. Overnight in Copenhagen.

Today belongs to Copenhagen and its sights. Discover the Danish capital by bike, which is certainly the number 1 means of transport here and has an excellently developed network of cycle paths. If you don't want to cycle, take a stroll to Nyhavn to see the little mermaid and stroll along the Stroget shopping street or visit the legendary Tivoli amusement park. Overnight stay as the day before in Copenhagen.

Return on your own. From Copenhagen to Gedser to the ferry to Rostock there are several daily train connections (approximately 2 hours).
