Between the festival city of Salzburg and the old imperial town of Bad Ischl with the imperial villa and the teahouse of the Empress Sissi and between countless glittering lakes of the Salzkammergut, we have selected the most beautiful bike paths and put them together to an impressive round trip. Cycle through a colorful picture book landscape, which seems to be taken from a tourist brochure: Discover blue lakes and high mountains, green meadows and dense forests, colorful flowers and craggy rocks. Enjoy a boat ride on Lake Wolfgang, take cozy beach breaks and let yourself be pampered in the evening by your hosts. Like this you experience a cycling holiday par excellence.
1. day Salzburg Arrival
Early arrival recommended, it is worth it! Discover Salzburg on your own, visit Mozart's birthplace, try some original "Salzburger Mozartkugeln" and enjoy an evening concert at the castle fortress Hohensalzburg.
2. day Salzburg - Wolfgangsee 45 km
With the bike and a song on your lips you leave the city of Mozart and cycle through the Salzburg Flachgau and along the stunning dragon wall to lake Mondsee. Passing the lake Krotensee you rapidly race down to St. Gilgen at lake Wolfgangsee.
3. day Wolfgangsee - Traunsee 41 km / 49km
Cheerful start to the day. Enjoy a delightful boat ride on lake Wolfgangsee. Then take a stroll through the picturesque St. Wolfgang. In the distance you can see mountain peaks, beside you the blue lake Wolfgangsee. That makes all cyclists heart beat faster. Like this you arrive good humored in Bad Ischl. Take time to visit the Imperial Villa and the Pastry shop Zauner, before you follow the river Traun to lake Traun.
4. day Traunsee - Attersee 40 km / 32 km
Closely wedged between Traunstein and Höllengebirge is the beautiful lake Traunsee. Idyllically you cycle along the shore to the pottery town of Gmunden. Look forward to the Sea Castle and the magnificent promenade. Your destination is lake Attersee with its rolling hills it will magical attract you. Indulge yourself at the most popular lake in the whole Salzkammergut.
5. day Attersee - Mondsee 33 km
What a beautiful bike course. Along the turquoise lake Attersee you cycle up to the southern bank before you leave the lake through a narrow valley. After just 2 km suddenly lake Mondsee is in a panoramic position right in front of you. With pleasure you follow the bike path to the town with the same name Mondsee featuring prehistoric dwellings.
6. day Mondsee - Trumer Seenland 46 km
A true highlight! Today you see that you really are in the land of many lakes. Today you cross a spectacular landscape surrounded by towering mountains, you cycle past the natural lake Mondsee to the Trumer lakes. Our tip: Make sure to try the beer specialty of the Trumer brewery.
7. day Trumer Seenland - Salzburg 46 km
The Trumer Lakes (Obertrumersee, Mattsee and Grabensee) with its numerous natural swimming areas invite in the bright sunshine to a jump into the not so cool water. Try it out before you leisurely cycle back to Salzburg. Enjoy once again the magnificent views of the majestic mountains of the Salzkammergut.
8. day Salzburg Departure
Time flies, time passed. We can book you an extension in the beautiful city of Salzburg or at one of the many small lakes.
Individual tours: Here you decide when and with whom you would like to travel. We provide you with detailed tour documents and practical planning tips, and you enjoy our all-in, worry-free package with separate luggage transport throughout your tour.
Guided tours: You can simply get on your bike and enjoy a group holiday (8–20 participants). Your tour guide will take care of everything, and your luggage will be transported separately.

Arrival by train
Salzburg is easily accessible from all major cities in Germany by train. We recommend to take a taxi from the station to get to our partner hotels in Salzburg. Current schedule information and price information can be found at
Parking facilities at the hotel
The hotel has a small car park (allocation of places according to availability, no reservation possible). Therefore, we recommend the parking garage Linzergasse (entrance Glockengasse, about 4 minutes walking to the center). The cost is about 65.00 EUR per week.
Detailed information on parking at your hotel you will receive together with the detailed travel documents about two weeks prior to departure.
Condition of cycle paths
Not fully developed bike paths, mostly you will cycle on quiet side roads, supply roads or bike paths, but sometimes even on main roads. (Approximately 70% cycling path).
Available rental bikes
There are KTM bikes with 21-speed gear shift and freewheel. Bikes with 7-speed gear shift are also possible but not advisable. Electric bikes are available on request.
Helmet duty in Austria
For children up to 12 years a helmet is required

Passport and visa requirements, health regulations
For EU citizens, there are no special passport or visa requirements and no health formalities to be considered for this trip.
The tour price already includes the statutory insolvency insurance. In addition, we recommend that you take out travel cancellation insurance upon receipt of your travel confirmation in order to protect yourself against financial disadvantages in the event of travel cancellation, interruption of travel, illness or accident.
The 900 years old fortress is the emblem of the town, Europe’s largest and best preserved Burganlage.
Castle Mirabel is located in the heart of the town. With its beautiful castle garden and view of the fortress, it attracts visitors every season.
Around 500 animals from a total of 150 species live in the Salzburg Zoo, a modern nature and species protection center, which is managed according to strict EU guidelines.
St. Wolfgang was named after its founder, St. Wolfgang, Wolfgang was first bishop of Regensburg in 976, but withdrew in the face of a difficult situation and began to enter the Abbey of Mondsee, as well as the Abersee, which was hardly accessible at the time. Shipping on the Wolfgangsee

Attersee is the largest lake in Austria with an area of 46.7 km2.
It consists of 3 tubs of different size & depth - 20 km in length and 2 to 3 km wide - at its deepest point it measures 171 meters. The magic of Lake Attersee and the fantastic landscape will also capture and inspire you. The Attersee as a wonderful bathing lake with drinking water quality offers ideal conditions for the holiday with the whole family. Even water sports enthusiasts - above and under water - find optimal conditions at Austria's largest lake, attracting tourists from all over the world every year.
The MondSeeLand in the Salzkammergut with the two warmest Salzkammergutseen, Mondsee and Irrsee, has seven municipalities. It is an attractive tourist region and was already a popular holiday destination in the Monarchy.
