tour highlights

Nikolai-Church Stralsund

The oldest of the three Stralsund parish churches is the monumental St. Nikolaikirche at the Alter Markt. It has been in the stage of a comprehensive restoration for years. Even now, with its two imposing organs, Buchholz and Schuke, it is one of the most beautiful sacral buildings in Northern Europe.

Nikolai-Church Stralsund

St. Johannis Monastery

The peculiarity of this monastery is the historically evolved side-by-side and interrelatedness of various architectural periods, the individual phases of the dominant Gothic, Baroque and Classicism. The chapter hall with its cross vault and its gothic wall paintings offers a fascinating atmosphere for concerts and lectures.

Town Hall Stralsund

The Stralsund town hall is one of the most beautiful profane buildings of the north German bakingsteintotics. The construction started in the 13th century. Because of its architectural features, the town hall was not only the seat of the council and the place of jurisprudence, but first of all a building full of business.

Sea Museum Stralsund

The sea museum in Stralsund's old town has its domicile in the former Dominican monastery St. Katharinen with marine scientific exhibitions as well as aquariums of the tropics and the Mediterranean.

Kap Arkona Rügen

Cape Arkona is a 45-meter-high cliff, consisting of chalk and schists, on the Wittow peninsula in the north of the island of Rügen. Cape Arkona, often referred to as the "northernmost point of Ruegen", is home to two lighthouses, a peaked tower, two military bunkers and the Slavic Jaromarsburg.

Hunting Lodge Granitz

The hunting lodge Granitz was built between 1837 and 1846 in the middle of a large contiguous Buchenwald area in the southeast of the island of Rügen.

From the Ostseebad Binz the castle is the fastest with the Rügenschen Kleinbahn or the Jagdschlossexpress to reach.

National park Jasmund

The Jasmund National Park is located on the peninsula Jasmund in the north-east of the island of Rügen.

The most striking feature of the national park is the 118-meter-high Chalk-rock royal chair. The platform of this chalk cliff, which rises out of the coast line, reaches an average of 300,000 people annually to see the Baltic Sea and the neighboring imposing coastal sections.

Der Rasende Roland

The steam-powered narrow-gauge railway is a main attraction on the island and connects Putbus to Binz, Sellin and Baabe with Göhren. On a distance of 24.1 kilometers, a regular operation is maintained with historic steam locomotives and wagons, which are almost 100 years old.

Rasende Roland

Sellin

The Wilhelmstraße with its magnificent houses from the origins of the bath architecture leads up to the 30-meter-high steep coast, where you descend via a steep staircase or the lift to the Sellin pier or the promenade on the south beach. Sellin now has the longest pier on Rügen with a length of 394 meters.
