Highlights

Bruges
As the capital of the province of West Flanders, Bruges is a tourist center of the region and is affectionately known by its inhabitants as "Belgium's Venice" because of its many canals and bridges. Visitors to the city can expect hospitable inhabitants, a medieval city center and sights as far as the eye can see.

Bruges

Ghent
Ghent is a compact, authentic city where past and present are in perfect harmony. A walk through the city can be compared to a journey through time.

Ghent

Antwerp
Antwerp - Scheldt city, Rubens city, diamond city, fashion city, port city, ... The many facets make Antwerp a city as it should be.

Antwerp

Dordrecht
The large inland center of Dordrecht is located in the south of the province of South Holland between the Rhine and the Meuse and their numerous branches.

Windmills of Kinderdijk

Utrecht
The old and historic city of Utrecht is home to many buildings that were built in the early Middle Ages. Until Utrecht was surpassed by Amsterdam in the Dutch Golden Age, it was the most important city in the Netherlands.

Tour

Your ship awaits your arrival in the port of Bruges from 2pm. This is followed by the distribution of bicycles and a short exploration tour to get you in the mood. The day concludes with dinner, followed by an organized, short walking tour of the charming historic Old Town of Bruges, often known as the "Pearl of Flanders." For those planning a more extensive exploration of Bruges, we recommend traveling to Belgium a day or two before your trip begins.

Your first bike ride today will take you along the picturesque Ghent Canal through the enchanting Flemish countryside. Upon arrival, you will have the afternoon to explore this charming city. Ghent's city center captivates with its dreamily lit streets and impressive historic architecture. The ship will moor for the night at Merelbeke Lock, a suburb of Ghent located about 30 minutes by bike from the city center. Before dinner is served, you'll have the opportunity to join a guided canal tour of the historic city.

After breakfast, you will first enjoy a few more moments in Ghent. Later in the morning, you will set off by bike and follow the course of the river through a diverse landscape along the tidal river Scheldt to Dendermonde, located at the confluence of the rivers Dender and Scheldt. This section of the tour is undoubtedly one of the natural highlights. You will travel either by bike or by boat (depending on the tide) from Dendermonde to St. Amands. In St. Amands your ship will dock for the night.

Today you continue your journey downstream on the Scheldt River to Antwerp. Your destination today is Antwerp, a port city along the Scheldt River that became known as a hub for the diamond trade as early as the 15th century. Antwerp is also the birthplace of the famous painter Peter Paul Rubens.

This morning your ship continues its journey along the Scheldt-Rhine canal and reaches the imposing Kreekrak locks. Here your bike tour starts through the forest area "Wouwse Plantage", which leads you to Tholen. Once Tholen was a small fishing village on an island in the Dutch province of Zeeland. From Tholen you continue your journey by boat through the impressive Volkerak lock system until you reach Dordrecht - one of the oldest cities in the Netherlands and your stage destination for tonight.

Today your journey begins with a 10-minute ride on the "Waterbus" to Alblasserdam. Your bike tour continues via Schoonhoven, with a stopover, until you reach Vianen - a small fortified town on the river Lek. Here the ship will dock for tonight, and after dinner you will have time to explore the area on a leisurely stroll.

During breakfast, the ship will sail to Breukelen, where you will disembark for your last bike ride. You will cycle along the beautiful river Vecht, on the banks of which there are numerous manor houses, small castles and magnificent country houses with extensive gardens. After passing the towns of Nieuwersluis, Loenen and Vreeland by bike, you will arrive in Nigtevecht. Here you will have the opportunity to visit a traditional cheese farm. Your ride continues via Muiden until you finally reach Amsterdam, where you board the ship again for your last night in the port of Amsterdam.

Your journey ends in Amsterdam. After breakfast you will disembark the ship around 9:30 am and start your individual journey home. End of your trip.

Possible, necessary changes of the itinerary due to wind, weather and nautical peculiarities remain reserved to the skipper as captain of the ship at any time!
