The charm of bygone times will accompany you during your journey by bike and on foot in the cities.

Highlights

Bruges
As the capital of the province of West Flanders, Bruges is a tourist center of the region and is affectionately known by its inhabitants as "Belgium's Venice" because of its many canals and bridges. Visitors to the city can expect hospitable inhabitants, a medieval city center and sights as far as the eye can see.

Bruges

Ghent
Ghent is a compact, authentic city where past and present are in perfect harmony. A walk through the city can be compared to a journey through time.

Ghent

Antwerp
Antwerp - Scheldt city, Rubens city, diamond city, fashion city, port city, ... The many facets make Antwerp a city as it should be.

Antwerp

Dordrecht
The large inland center of Dordrecht is located in the south of the province of South Holland between the Rhine and the Meuse and their numerous branches.

Utrecht
The old and historic city of Utrecht is home to many buildings that were built in the early Middle Ages. Until Utrecht was surpassed by Amsterdam in the Dutch Golden Age, it was the most important city in the Netherlands.

Amsterdam
Amsterdam is unique among European metropolises. Compared to other world cities, Amsterdam is quite small, but offers all the advantages of a metropolis - a multitude of historical sights, world-famous museums and a distinct nightlife.

With its large sun deck, elegant panoramic salon and beautiful cabins, it is one of the especially cozy cabin ships. In winter 2017/2018 the ship was completely renovated. On the upper deck 4 new, spacious double cabins have been created.

Tour

Embarkation from 2 pm after individual arrival in Bruges. Take a short first bike tour to explore the city. After dinner and welcome by the ship's crew, there will be an opportunity for a short city tour of Bruges, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Your route today starts with a short boat trip. After breakfast, you'll hop on your bikes just past Bruges and cycle through the enchanting Flemish countryside along the Ghent-Bruges Canal. The city center impresses with its beautifully lit streets, and the abundance of historic architecture is a real treat for the eyes. In the Middle Ages, Ghent was the second largest city in Europe. Your ship moors for the night at the lock in Merelbeke, a suburb of Ghent about 30 minutes by bike from the city center.

After breakfast in Ghent, get on your bikes and follow the river downstream through a picturesque landscape along the tidal river Scheldt to Dendermonde, where the rivers Dender and Scheldt meet. In this section of the Scheldt, the speed of the ship is influenced by the tides. Your overnight stay today is in Dendermonde, where your ship docks.

Today you will follow the course of the Scheldt further downstream via the towns of Temse and Baasrode to Antwerp. Over the centuries, this stretch of the Scheldt has had a strategic importance for the Romans, Vikings, Spaniards and even Napoleon. Today, this picturesque waterway provides the perfect backdrop for a successful bike and boat trip! Your destination today is the port city of Antwerp, which became known as a diamond trading center as early as the 15th century and is now considered the world capital of the diamond trade. In this fascinating city, numerous sights await you, waiting to be discovered by you.

This morning the ship continues its journey along the Scheldt-Rhine canal to the impressive Kreekrak locks. Here your bike tour begins through the forest area "Wouwse Plantage". Your destination is Tholen, once a small fishing village on an island. However, due to the completion of the Delta Project, the village is now connected to the mainland. You will then rejoin the ship and pass the impressive Volkerak locks on your way to Dordrecht. In Dordrecht, a short walking tour is offered in the evening.

With the "Waterbus" you go to Alblasserdam. After a short ride you will reach the famous Kinderdijk by bike. This area is known worldwide because of its 19 windmills, which stand side by side. You will then continue your bike ride via Schoonhoven to Vianen, a small fortified town on the Lek River. Here your ship will dock for tonight, and after dinner you will have time to explore the town on a walking tour.

During breakfast your ship sets course for Breukelen. From there, you will cycle along the picturesque Vecht River. Along its banks, numerous mansions, small castles and magnificent country houses with extensive gardens extend to the shore. On your bike tour through the villages of Nieuwersluis, Loenen and Vreeland you finally reach Nigtevecht. Here you have the opportunity to visit a traditional cheese dairy. Your journey continues via the fortified town of Muiden to Amsterdam. There you will meet your ship again and spend the last night in the port of Amsterdam before departing the next day.

Your journey ends here. Disembarkation takes place until 9:30 am, after which you start your individual journey home.

The skipper as captain of the ship reserves the right to make any necessary changes to the itinerary due to wind, weather and nautical peculiarities!

We are glad to offer this tour as a guided tour. If you choose this option a guide will cycle with you during the day and show you a lot of interesting towns and the most outstanding places.
