Sportive and short
Everyone who likes long stages on the bike will love this tour! You will circle the lake with all its sights and relax in beautiful hotels in the evening. The bike trail is mostly paved and even suitable for racing bikes.
1. day Arrival in Constance
We recommend an early arriving, you will not be disappointed! Take the occasion to walk around the Old Town of Constance. This is the place where the Council met between 1414 and 1418, which reorganized the Catholic Church fundamentaly. The aquariums of the Sea Life Center and the archaeological museum are also worth visiting. In the evening you enjoy the view over the lake.
2. day Constance - Radolfzell - Stein am Rhein - Constance 80 km
Starting in Constance, you will ride along lake Gnadensee into the old imperial town Radolfzell. The bike trails are in a very good state and lead you to the peninsula Höri and Stein am Rhein. Marvel at the beautiful houses decorated with frescos and take a break in the restaurants by the lakeside. Take your time for a stop at one of the numerous winegrowers on your way back to Constance.
3. day Constance - Lindau/Bregenz. ca. 50/65 km + ferry ride
The ferry takes you from Constance-Staad to Meersburg with its ancient castle. The beautiful town is situated at a steep vineyard; walk through the narrow streets and across gorgeous places to enjoy the view from one of the terraces. Through vineyards you will cycle to the zeppelin city Friedrichshafen where the museum and the harbour are both worth a visit. Orchards seam your way until you reach the Bavarian town Lindau. The town centre is an absolute must-see! Marvel at the beautiful lakeside promenade, where the lighthouse and the lion frame the famous entrance to the harbour. If you arrive early just take a boat ride to enjoy the town from the lake-side. You hotel is located in Lindau or Bregenz
4. day Lindau/Bregenz - Constance, ca. 85/70 km
After you have left Bregenz, you will cross the Rhine delta, an important nature reserve. Close to Altenrhein, you will cross the boarder to Switzerland. Did you know that the local market hall is the last building realized by the artist Friedrich Hundertwasser? Close to the lake you will bike through plantations, the cities Arbon and Romanshorn to get back to Constance.
5. day Departure from Constance
Your journey ends after breakfast.

Arrival by train
Konstanz is easily accessible from all major cities in Germany by train. We recommend to take a taxi from the station to get to our partner hotels in Konstanz. Current schedule information and price information can be found at: www.bahn.de.
Parking facilities at the hotel
At the first hotel paid parking is possible, partialy.
Furthermore, it is possible to park in a fenced parking lot for the duration of the bike tour (cost: 45,00 € per trip / per car). Reservation required.
It is also possible to use free parking spaces on public roads or public parking spaces / car parks.
Parking garages (fish market, Dammgasse, old town, Benedictine square), costs approx. 10,00 - 20,00 € per day / car.
Condition of cycle paths
You cycle mostly on flat, paved bike trails near the shore around the lake. Occasionally there are short sections of unpaved roads. The first sections takes place around the peninsula Höri through hilly terrain. In the area of Friedrichshafen, the bike path goes along the main road. The lakeshore is largely open to the public.
Available rental bikes
You can rent 27-speed gear shift and freewheel or electric bikes. All ladies' bikes have a low opening that makes mounting and dismounting much easier. The bikes are suitable for all ladies from 150 cm in height. Men's bikes are suitable for all gentlemen from 175 cm in height. You simply specify your wishes at time of booking.
Currencies in Switzerland
For Switzerland, we recommend to exchange Swiss franc. Although you can pay in euros. Franken can easily be lifted by debit or credit card at an ATM.
Extra costs which are not inculded in the price
A possibly applicable city tax is not part of the price and has to be paid at the hotel locally.

Just in case the bike chain is broken, flooding makes it impossible to continue your tour or any other nasty surprise: you can reach us seven days a week and we will do anything to help you as fast as possible.

For EU citizens, there are no special passport or visa requirements and no health formalities to be considered for this trip.

Mainau Island
With an area of about 45 hectares, the Mainau is the third largest island in Lake Constance. Because of its extremely rich subtropical, partly also tropical vegetation, the Mainau is also known as the flower island in Lake Constance.

The state capital of Lake Constance has many sights to see, so you can get inspired by historical buildings, traditional landmarks and modern architecture. A special highlight is the Festspielhaus and the world-famous Festspiele on the largest lake stage in the world.
