Tour
Arrive early to Rostock-Warnemünde! Discover the white, wide sandy beach, the idyllic Alter Strom or take a harbor tour. Marvel at the up to 300 m long ocean liners in the most important cruise port of the southern Baltic Sea - here you can experience cruise ships as close as seldom before. You should not miss a walk to the lighthouse or on the 540 meter long west pier. Look forward to your overnight stay near the Baltic Sea.
Start in the morning with a 1-hour boat trip to the Rostock city harbor and cycle from here to the Rostock Zoo. Experience more than 4500 animals in 320 different species from all continents of the world in this park landscape: lions from the savannah of Africa, seahorses from the depths of the oceans, the little polar bear Fiete born in December 2014, cheetahs, reindeer, kangaroos and sea bears. Marvel at orangutans and gorillas together with gibbons and sloths in natural habitats in the tropical hall - a suspension bridge takes you seemingly within reach of orangutans swinging from branch to branch. Cycle back to Warnemünde after your visit to the zoo and spend a relaxing afternoon on the beach.
After breakfast, cycle to the nearby Warnow ferry and take the ferry to the seaside resort of Hohe Düne. Here you will find the German Navy base, a 25-metre-high pilot station and a large marina, which was built for the 2012 Summer Olympics bid. Follow the cycle path through the Rostock Heath to Graal Müritz. Three beach playgrounds and an adventure playground with a climbing tower await the little ones here. Don't miss a visit to the German Amber Museum in Ribnitz-Damgarten and experience Europe's most beautiful amber exhibition. Kinderbernsteinland offers lots of hands-on activities for the little ones. You will spend the night in Ribnitz-Damgarten or on the Fischland-Darß-Zingst peninsula.
Look forward to a relaxing day at the beach! Ahrenshoop welcomes you with its kilometer-long, fine sandy beach - a paradise for building sandcastles and swimming. Go on a sailing trip with a traditional Zeesboot, which were already used as fishing boats in the 16th century, or get to know the reed-lined Bodden landscape around Ahrenshoop on a bike tour. In the evening, experience the charm of the artists' village during a dreamlike sunset by the sea and let yourself be captured by the special flair of the Baltic seaside resort Ahrenshoop.
Start in the morning with a short bike tour through the forest pine-fringed Darss forest to Wieck. Visit the "Darss Ark" and learn a lot of interesting facts about the flora and fauna in the National Park Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft. Then cycle along the well-maintained cycle path to the Baltic seaside resort of Prerow and take your first swim in the clear water on the shallow northern beach. Follow the cycle path through the fascinating and natural "Darss primeval forest" to the 13-kilometer-long, unspoiled west beach and marvel at the untouched nature with the characteristic windflies. These trees, bent by the wind, are a unique natural spectacle. Swim at the west beach, because here the water is crystal clear and shimmers in all shades of blue. You will quickly reach your hotel in the Baltic Sea resort of Zingst via the Baltic Sea bike path. Relax in the evening with a walk on the beach and end the day at the pier.
Spend the day on the beach, visit the Experimentarium or take a day trip to the island of Hiddensee. Start in the morning with the 3-hour boat crossing, experience the unique landscape and untouched nature of the car-free Baltic Sea island and cycle to from Vitte to the lighthouse Dornbusch, 5 km away. The landmark of the island of Hiddensee offers you a fascinating view over the Baltic Sea at a height of 28 meters, which rewards you for the 102-step climb. Explore the island by bike before returning to Zingst by boat in the afternoon. The best way to end today is with a delicious ice cream!
Explore the land of cranes and migratory birds on the last stage of your family cycling tour. From late summer on they meet at their resting places in the Bodden landscape between Zingst and Barth. If you don't want to cycle the whole distance to Stralsund, you can already use the train from Barth. Follow well signposted paths to the Hanseatic city of Stralsund - there is a lot to discover here! Visit the Ozeaneum - It is the largest aquarium in Germany and takes you on a fascinating underwater journey through the Baltic and North Seas as well as the world's oceans all the way to the Arctic Ocean. Go dry-footed diving with tunas and sharks and discover the vastness of the oceans. Marvel at the large sperm whale skeleton on the seabed of the two-story Atlantic Basin and be sure not to miss a visit to the Humboldt Penguins, who make their home on the roof of the Ozeaneum. For those who can't get enough of the element of water, you can let off steam on the giant water slide, the adventurous Black Hole adventure slide and the white-water canal in the "Hansedom" family bathing paradise. Relax on the last evening of your family bike tour with a walk through the old town of Stralsund.
After breakfast your bike tour ends. We wish you a good journey home.
