With its 55 meters the WAPEN FAN FRYSLÂN is the largest two-masted schooner in the Netherlands. On deck there is a large wheelhouse, where a stylish bar invites for a cozy chat. Enjoy especially the all round view of the water from the large windows! Outside there is another control stand, a bar with draft beer connection and even a Jacuzzi.

In good weather you can eat excellent on the middle deck in the fresh air or in the main salon that radiates pleasant luxury. The 12 about 10 m² two-bed cabins with openable porthole are equipped with two single beds (plus a third bed that is fixed folded against the wall), a private shower, toilet and sink. No single rooms on the Wapen Fan Fryslan!

Tour

Enkhuizen is 65 km (60 minutes per car) northwest of Amsterdam. Embarkation from 4 pm. Bag drop at the ship ist already possible from 11am. During the welcome the skipper tells you with an aperitif all about the upcoming trip. Overnight stay on board in the port of Enkhuizen.

In the pretty harbor town of Enkhuizen with its historic old town you start your first bike ride along the IJsselmeer to the old port of Medemblik and then continue to Den Oever with its small interesting fishing port. Depending on weather conditions the ship goes already today out into the Wadden Sea island of Texel.

The day belongs to one of the largest Dutch North Sea island. Cycle through extensive dune fields and picturesque villages, follow the well signposted Thijsseroute (about 40 km) and visit the seal breeding station EcoMare.

Today we are sailing! In about 5-6 hours we will reach our destination today, the island of Terschelling, also known as the "Amsterdam of the Wadden Sea". Look forward to a lovely village that still retains much of its original charm.

Lots of nature and culture offers today's round trip to Terschelling. 70 km cycling paths, four beautiful villages, West-Terschelling, the largest town on the island with plenty of shops and pubs and the 400 year old lighthouse waiting to be discovered. In the late afternoon you will sail to Harlingen.

After breakfast you cycle via Franeker, with its famous planetarium from Eise Eisinga through the wonderful, spacious Frisian landscape to Makkum. Makkum is located on the eastern shore of the IJsselmeer. If you want to take the longer bike ride, visit Bolsward, one of the eleven Frisian cities.

Today you first cycle to Stavoren. If you have chosen the short route, you will cycle through the old trading town of Hindeloopen. The first Frisian skating museum is in Hindeloopen. The longer bike tour takes you along several lakes in the Frisian Lake District and shows you a completely different landscape. After the bike ride you will sail back to Enkhuizen.

Your adventure ends after breakfast with disembarkation in Enkhuizen at 9:30 am.

Itinerary and program changes
The planned route is always subject to possible changes due to nautical, meteorological or organisational reasons. If, for example, a route cannot be travelled due to low water, high water, bad weather or construction work, the captain reserves the right to change the route for your safety. This is not a legally valid reason for cancelling the trip free of charge. The same applies in the event of officially ordered lock or bridge repairs or in the event of engine or propulsion damage to the ship through no fault of the captain.
As your ship usually sails to the next harbour on the same day, your time frame for your own activities and sightseeing is limited. On some bridges, the clearance height is so low that the sun deck is closed for your safety.

SGR Guaranteefund:
For this trip, there is a fee of 5,00 € per traveller for the SGR guarantee fund. This fee is mandatory for this trip and will be shown separately on the invoice.

Fuel surcharge:
A fuel surcharge, which may apply due to the sharp rise in fuel prices, is not included in the cruise price and must be paid in cash on arrival on board the ship. We will inform you of the amount of the surcharge, if any, approx. 4 weeks before arrival.

The ship's landing point is usually close to the train station. You will receive final information on the location of the ship with the detailed travel documents before you start your journey.

Tour guide
The daily cycle tours are completely individual, i.e. not guided. You can cycle the stages at your own pace with the help of the detailed cycle map, GPS data and written route descriptions. On board you will receive daily tips and advice as well as all important tour details from a crew member.

Available rental bikes
The bicycles on board are unisex city bikes with a low step-through frame and an upright, comfortable riding position. The bikes, manufactured by Azor, are produced in the Netherlands based on a special design by Boat Bike Tours. The bike features a lightweight aluminum frame and is equipped with responsive Shimano roller brakes (hand brakes), a Shimano 7-speed gear system, an adjustable Selle Royal gel saddle, an easy-to-use frame lock, and Schwalbe Marathon puncture-resistant tires.
The e-bike (“pedelec”) is an Azor Steps equipped with a Nexus 7-speed gear system and hand brakes. The Shimano hub motor (400 WH) offers 4 assistance levels. The e-bikes feature a comfortable gel saddle and a frame lock (or comparable brand/similar model).

Bring your own bikes
You can take your own bike with you to a limited extent. There is little space available on the ship for a surcharge to bring your own bike / e-bike. Advance registration is required to bring your own bike.

Lactose-free and gluten-free food
If you require lactose-free or gluten-free food, this is possible on board. There is a surcharge for this, which must be paid on board. Please indicate when booking if you require a lactose-free or gluten-free diet.

Extra costs which are not included in the tour price
Guaranteefund €5.00 per person, will be shown separately on the invoice, 1x dinner on Terschelling, arrival and departure, transfers, drinks, rental bikes and helmets, personal insurance, gratuities and personal expenses, ferry and parking fees.

7 day hotline service

Passport and visa requirements
For EU citizens, there are no special passport or visa requirements and no health formalities to be considered for this trip.

Travel insurance
We recommend that you take out travel cancellation insurance upon receipt of your travel confirmation in order to protect yourself against financial disadvantages in the event of travel cancellation, interruption of travel, illness or accident.

Minimum number of participants: 18 persons

Velociped can withdraw from the tour twenty-one days before the starting date of the tour, at the latest, in case the minimum number of participants stated under the tour description is not attained.
