Tour
Travel early, because it's worth it. Amsterdam is one of the most exciting cities in Europe with its typical mansions and numerous sights such as the world-famous museums of Van Gogh and Rembrandt or the Anne Frank House. On the first day of your bike tour, enjoy the flair between the canals and the parks and stroll through the alleys of the old town or take a canal tour.
The first bike tour will take you to Haarlem. The city is much smaller than Amsterdam, but at least as beautiful. Haarlem used to be an important trading port surrounded by a defensive wall. The old town, with its gabled houses and cobblestone streets, has retained its medieval character. Visit one of the exciting museums and stop at one of the many restaurants.
Zaanse Schans is a residential and craftsmen's quarter from 1850. The authentic wooden houses and the beautiful windmills give the impression of being in an open-air museum. However, ordinary people live here amidst the historic buildings. In the mills and the workshops craftsmen do their work. After you have learned a lot about the work of clog makers, cheese dairies and in the windmills, take a break in one of the nice restaurants where you will be served Dutch specialties.
The last cycling stage takes you into water-rich nature with meadows and pastures. You will ride through picturesque villages and past estates and fortifications. Be sure to make a stop at Muiderslot. The oldest castle in the Netherlands was built around 1285 and has served as a branch of the Rijksmuseum since 1878. Stroll through the beautiful castle garden, which was designed as an ornamental and kitchen garden. Enjoy the tranquility of this place before ending your trip in the evening in bustling Amsterdam.
After the breakfast at the hotel your radial tour in Amsterdam ends.
