Romanticists, nature lovers and cultural lovers - they all love the Lüneburg Heath, just as Hermann Löns had done. Heidschnucken, who are serenely grazing in wide countryside, recreational parks, which tell stories and promise adventure, old half-timbered house and a station as an art object in Uelzen.

Get on the bike and "experience" the Lüneburg Heath. Using pedals, this varied landscape of the largest Lower Saxon rice region can be explored more intensively in 8 days. The well signposted cycle paths lead you almost by itself through the flat Lüneburger Heide.

Highlights:

Baroque Town Hall Lüneburg
An ensemble of individual buildings is the Lüneburger Rathauskomplex. It tells 800 years of history, which today can be visited to a large extent.

Tour

Individual arrival to Lüneburg to the starting point of a varied bike tour through the Lüneburg Heath. In the late afternoon, a personal welcome awaits you combined with a briefing (German) and the issue of the rental bikes (if booked). The evening will be at your free disposal. Stroll through the characteristic streets of Lüneburg, with its historic architecture that contrasts sharply with the otherwise lively, young university town.

Pink, red, purple? The typical moorland landscape will accompany you once more today! Uelzen is proud of its numerous medieval churches and chapels and make a stop at the "Hundertwasser-train station Uelzen". It is one of the most beautiful ones in the world. In the context of the Expo 2000 it was rebuilt in the style of Friedensreich Hundertwasser.

The never-ending width of the moorlands, the forests, juniper bushes and moors lead you to Celle. 480 remodeled half-timbered houses can be seen in the Old-town, the castle in the style of the Weser-renaissance is just as worthwhile.

Today you will cycle through the natural park of the Southern Moorlands. Along the romantic little river Örtze small wooden bridges invite you to linger. Look forward to Hermannsburg, which has more than 1000 years of history. From here missionaries were sent to various parts of the world. To this day, the place is shaped by this section of history. Visit the Ludwig-Harms-Haus, as an exhibition conveys impressions from the work of the Hermannsburg Mission in many countries of the world. Overnight in Hermannsburg / surroundings.

Through the natural park of the Southern Moorlands you cycle further on to Soltau. The inhabitants call Soltau "the heart of the heath". If you are out for action today a visit of the Heide-Park will be just perfect! More than 40 attractions and breath-taking shows will arrange for your entertainment. The thermae however invites to relax, it is one of Northern Germanys nicest adventure pools. Anyone crazy for toys should visit the toy museum where 350 pieces from 4 decades are displayed.

Through small villages like Wiedeholz, Möhr and Wolterdingen today you cycle back to the state-approved health resort Schneverdingen. Visit the Peter and Paul Church, which has been the city's landmark since 1746 and the Heidegarten. In this unique in Germany garden you can admire the variety of different heaths. Completed in 1990, the heather garden has grown steadily. Climb the observation tower and admire the large, circular main bed with the four cardinal points as well as the Schneverdingen coat of arms. You will be astonished how exactly the presentation with the heather plants succeeded.

Through impressive moorland you cycle to Lüneburg. Heaths, pine forests and heathlands characterize the vastness of the landscape here. They ride the Wilseder mountain by bike and roll through small romantic hamlets. Look forward to Lüneburg, discover this young university town with its baroque town hall, the picturesque center and the numerous beautiful brick buildings.

Today it is time to say goodbye to the colors of the heath. We would be happy to book an extension for you.
