Opatija is a seaside resort on the Kvarner Bay and is one of the oldest tourist resorts in Croatia. The promenade, the Lungomare of Opatija, leads over 12 kilometers from Volosko (Lovos) to Lovran (Lovrana). It was completed in 1911. Thanks to the extensive parks, which are situated directly beside the sea, as well as numerous elegant villas and hotels dating from the imperial period, Opatija and its surroundings are well visited all year round.
Island of Krk
Krk is the largest island in the Adriatic. It is also called Insula Aurea, meaning the Golden Island. Krk is known for its beautiful beaches and clear water, but also for its karst landscapes and lush forests. The wine region of Krk is famous for the white wine Zlahtina, traditionally cultivated in the village of Vrbnik.
Island of Rab
The island of Rab is one of the most famous and popular tourist destinations of Germans and Austrians and offers an astonishing variety of landscapes, beautiful estates, cultural monuments from pre-Roman times and much more..
Island of Pag
The island of Pag is probably the most contrasting island in Croatia. A place that polarizes people. It can be seen as the Croatian adäquat to Lanzarotes. As you approach the island from the mainland, you are inevitably reminded of a lunar landscape. Scarcely a shrub can be seen. Nothing but naked sand-colored rocks. However, if you have entered the island and crossed the first mountain, you can see many smaller and larger villages, meadows, reeds, fields and olive groves. The city of Pag is mainly known for its sheep cheese, the Paski Sir and its lace sewings.
Island of Losinj
On the island you will find subtropical vegetation with palm trees, pine trees, agaves, oleanders, citrus trees, sage and lavender. Losinj is one of the sunniest places in Europe, with more than 2,500 hours of sunshine a year, equivalent to about 300 cloudless days.
