10 days Weser bike trail from Hann.Münden to Bremerhaven.

Begin your journey at the confluence of the Werra and Fulda rivers in Hann. Münden, a beautiful city full of half-timbered houses. Follow the signs on the bike route along the river into the Northern German lowland.

1. day  Arrival in Hann. Münden

Get here early to have a chance to see the 700+ half-timbered houses in the city, as well as renaissance-era city hall. There is parking at the hotel, and bicycles are also available for rent.

2. day  Hann. Münden - Beverungen 55 km (34 miles)

The former Benedictine monastery at Bursfelde, and Oberweser with its open-air milling museum await you.

3. day  Beverungen - Bodenwerder 59 km (37 miles)

Today your ride takes you along the border of Solling. You'll pass the Fürstenberg castle, where porcelain is made, before you reach the cloister at Corvey. After that, continue on to the next highlight of the tour: the palace at Bevern, one of the most impressive buildings of the renaissance in Weser.

4. day  Bodenwerder - Rinteln 56 km (35 miles)

After leaving Bodenwerder, you'll be greeted by the picturesque Hämelschenburg, before being captivated by the Pied Piper of Hameln's song in?where else??Hameln.

5. day  Rinteln - Minden 42 km (26 miles)

You'll see Bad Oeynhausen, famous for its "Jordansprudel," the largest carbonated hot spring in the world. But things will get a bit tight (literally!) in the valley at Porta Westfalica, the gateway to Westphalia, before you reach Minden.

6. day  Minden - Nienburg 63 km (39 miles)

Here the landscape changes as you enter the Northern German lowlands. Try following the bear tracks through Nienburg's old city, for a unique way to see the historical sights.

7. day  Nienburg - Verden 55 km (34 miles)

On this leg, your ride takes you through little villages filled with red brick houses before you arrive in Verden, famous for its horses. Photo opportunities abound among the broad meadows, windmills, and occasional farmhouses.

8. day  Verden - Bremen 56 km (35 miles)

Welcome to Bremen! Perhaps you heard the famous town musicians on your ride in, or maybe it was your imagination. Either way, don't forget to check out the statue of them in front of the city hall.

9. day  Bremen - Bremerhaven 82 km (51 miles)

Under the shelter of the dyke you cycle towards north. Be impressed by lush green meadows, black and white specked cows and sheep at the dyke. A fresh wind, the smell of salt in the air and much water and seagulls indicate that you are at the coast. Today you may go on a trip through the beautiful region Butjadinger Land with an excursion by ship to Wilhelmhaven. No matter how you decide the fresh sea air is always the same! In Bremerhaven the "Schaufenster Fischereihafen" is worth visiting. It is a centre for culture and communication with small shops, handcraft, restaurants and cooking studio for salt-water fish.

10. day  Departure from Bremerhaven
