Sunny bike tour along the south shore of Portugal.

One of the most beautiful coastal scenery in Europe, with miles of beautiful sandy beaches expects you as well as the centuries-old testimonies of a former empire, flowerage of the Portuguese spring, snow-white villages and beautiful golden beaches. Pure nature, hospitable and original people - all that we can offer you on your experience bike tour through the sandy Algarve. You will cycle pass picturesque beaches, idyllic villages and impressive cities, which are still heavily influenced by the different historical influences.

1. day  Faro Arrival

Private arrival at start hotel. We would like to make you a flight offer. Good public bus connection (5km) or via Taxi (costs about ? 12,-).

2. day  Vila Real 30 km (19 miles)

Via lightrailway you’re gonna travel along the coastline to Vila Real at the Spanish border. At the hotel you will receive your bicycles. From there you start to a round trip over the river Guadiana River to Ayamonte and the beach of Monte Gordo.

3. day  Tavira 45 km (28 miles)

Today Castro Marim will be on your tour. From there you cycle to Manta Rota with fantastic beach. Further on you go to your destination Tavira, a small harbour- and fishing village.

4. day  Sao Bras 40 km (25 miles)

Along smelling lemon slope and numerous orange groves you cycle to back-country of Algarve.

5. day  Silves 50 km (31 miles)

By bus you will get to Barranco do Velho. From there you cycle along Alte further to Arade water supply dam to Silves, the old moore capital of Algarve. A cultural acme of the tour is waiting for you: cathedral Santa Maria (13th century) with it old moore mosque.

6. day  Sagres 55 km (34 miles)

By cycle bus you go to Marmelete, then you cycle on a phantasmagoric descend towards west coast to Aljezur. You follow the coast to dune landscape around Carapateira. Enjoy a cooling bath before you cycle further to Cabo de San Vincente ( the southernmost point of Europe). Soon you are gonna be fast by bike in Sagres.

7. day  Lagos/Faro 35 km (22 miles)

The last stage leads you to Salema and further on to Luz and Lagos. The ‘Ponte de Piedade’ is another acme and at the same time end of this journey. After a stroll through Lagos you will go by bus back to Faro.

8. day  Departure Faro

Individual departure.
