Round trip through the Masurian Lakescape

Discover the unique nature of Masuren: huge ethic woodlands, sparkling water surfaces, a bird world par excellence – sea raven and Wisent are waiting for you visit. Gaze at the eldest tree of Masuren and enjoy a canoe tour, which offers great new experiences.

1. day  Warsaw Arrival / Ketrzyn (Rastenburg) 28 km

At 12 o'clock all participants meet at central station in Warsaw. You get to know your tour guide and by bus you travel to Masuren. During the trip break with lunch. In the afternoon you get on the bikes for the first time - trip to Ketrzyn (Rastenburg).

2. day  Around Ketrzyn (Rastenburg) 45 km

On this round trip you visit Reszel (Rössel) a beautiful town with bishops castle from century 14th, the famous baroque church in Swieta Lipka (Heilige Linde) and have the opportunity to enjoy an organ concert. Afterwards you cycle through picturesque villages back to Kestrzyn where you still have enough time to stroll through this town.

3. day  Lake Goldap 45 km (60 km by bus)

On your tour through pure nature you will visit the remains of “Wolfsschanze” (Hitler’s head quarter in east Prussia) as well as the castle in Steinort of Earl Lehndorff. Afterwards the bus will take you comfortably to Lake Goldap.

4. day  Rominter Heath 42 – 70 km

Pure nature – full-time bike tour through the beautiful Rominten heath. Enjoy undisturbed clean, aromatic air, silent forests and the amenity of nature. On the fringe of the heath is the imposing former railway viaduct of Stanczyki (Staatshausen) which today is often frequented for bungee jumping. You will stay another night in Goldap.

5. day  Wisent enclosure 70 km

Bike tour on beautiful forest- and field paths though the Borkener Forrest – a special and highly ethic woodland. During the day you can visit the Wisent enclosure of Wolisko. You accommodate in a guesthouse in Wilkasy close to Gizycko (Lötzen) the “capital” of Masuren.

6. day  Mikolajki (Nikolaiken) 25 km

Enjoy the day by boat! You travel unhurriedly on numerous lakes and channels. Afterwards in Szymonka you continue cycling because this unique nature will have to be experienced by bike. You spend the night close to Mikolajki (Nikolaiken).

7. day  Mikolajki round trip 54 km

Today's round trip leads along lakes, through forests and through many villages in which storks obviously feel very comfortable. In the afternoon you return to your accommodation after a nice bike trip . Take you time to visit Mikolajki, the "Venice of the North" which is the centre of water sports in this area.

8. day  Mikolajki (Nikolaiken) 47 km

Today you cycle through the mazurian country park to the small town Krutyn on the crystal clear Krutynia river. You spend the night at Krutyn.

9. day  Canoe tour on Krutynia river 26 km

A special experience waits for you at Krutynia river: a canoe tour on the most beautiful river of Poland (no further knowledge necessary, ? 10,- per boat payable on site). In the afternoon you can do a tour through the nature preserves around Krutyn. You spend the night at Krutyn again.

10. day  Warsaw Departure

You get to Warsaw by coach (packed lunch) where you will visit the Old Town and the former Warsaw ghetto. End of the journey is at central station “Warszawa Centralna” at about 4 p.m.
