Round trip through the Masurian Lakescape.

On this guided tour you discover the Old Town of Warsaw with Warsaw ghetto as well as the unique nature of Masuria: huge ethic woodlands, sparkling water surfaces, a bird world par excellence. With a little bit of luck you will see cormorants and bisons. Gaze at the really old trees of Masuria and enjoy a canoe tour, which offers great new experiences.

1. day  Warsaw Arrival / Reszel 15 km

At 12 a.m. all participants meet at central station in Warsaw. You get to know your tour guide and a bus brings you to the masurian lake district. In the afternoon you arrive in the small town of Reszel where you get on the bikes for the first time.

2. day  Swieta Lipka 40–50 km

A short bus transfer takes you to the famous baroque church in Swieta Lipka (Heilige Linde) and you have the opportunity to enjoy an organ concert. Afterwards you enjoy your bike tour back to Reszel.

3. day  Lake Goldap 35 km (90 km by bus)

On your tour you will visit the remains of “Wolfsschanze”. This was Hitler’s head quarter in east Prussia and here a group of Wehrmacht officers tried to assassinate him in 1944- but they failled tragically! A much nicer view is Earl Lehndorff's castle in Sztynort (Steinort). Afterwards the bus will take you comfortably to Lake Goldap.

4. day  Heath of Rominten 40 km

Pure nature – full-time bike tour through the beautiful heath of Rominten . Enjoy undisturbed clean, aromatic air, silent forests and the amenity of nature. On the fringe of the heath is the imposing railway viaduct of Stanczyki (Staatshausen) which is often frequented for bungee jumping. You will stay another night in Goldap.

5. day  Gizycko (Lötzen) 75 km

Bike tour on beautiful forest- and field paths though the Borkener Forrest – a special and highly ethic woodland. During the day you can visit the Wisent enclosure of Wolisko. Your hotel is on the outskirts of Gizycko (Lötzen) the “capital” of Masuren.

6. day  Masurian Lakes by boat / Mikolajki (Nikolaiken) 30 km

Enjoy the day by boat! You travel unhurriedly on numerous lakes and channel until you arrive in the area of Mikolajki (Nikolaiken) (about 2 hrs boat trip). Afterwards you get on the bikes again and on a quiet route you cycle towards Nikolaiken.

7. day  Mikolajki (Nikolaiken) 20 km

Discover town Mikolajki – “Venice of the North” – and water sports centre of this region. Admire the sailboats or stroll trough this picturesque town. In the afternoon you cycle through the surroundings and if you like you can go for a swim in Lake Talty.

8. day  Puszcza Piska (Johannisburg Heath) 35 km

Today you will see a unique nature paradise with densely wooded deciduous forests and pinewoods, crystal clear rivers, lakes with “swimming islands”, swans, gray herons and also rare eagles. In Ruciane Nida at lake Nidzkie, a well known harbour town you go for a stroll before you reach Krutyn on the beautyful river Krutina.

9. day  Canoe tour on Krutynia river 15 km

Today you cycle to Krutynia river, through picturesque nature reserves and along crystal clear lakes. A special experience waits for you at Krutynia river: a canoe tour on the most beautiful waterway of Poland. By bike you cycle to Wojnowo (Eckertsdorf) where the monastery of the “Altgläubigen” is idyllic located at the Duce lake. After returning to Krutyna you comfy end the day with a campfire.

10. day  Warsaw Departure

After breakfast you unfortunately have to say goodbye to Masuren. You get by coach to Warsaw (packed lunch) where you will visit the Old Town and the Warsaw ghetto. End of the journey is at central station “Warszawa Centralna” at about 4 p.m.
