Sir Winston - the name seems accurate. The air-conditioned restaurant of this cosy river cruiser presents itself in the English club style. It has been built to host a maximum of 70 guests. The saloon, the loggia and the sundeck are attracting places for those who seek recreation. The cabins, measureing about 7 qm, are small and functional. Each is equipped with two single beds. 24 cabins are situated on the main deck, another 11 with air-conditioning and TV on the promenade deck.
Embarkation is possible between 3p.m. and 6p.m. We recommend taking a trip on the Grachten in the meantime. Dinner will be served on board.
The trip starts off with a nice boat trip from Amsterdam to Aalsmeer where you will finally get on your bikes. A first cosy stage takes you from there past the lakes „Westernsteiner Plassen“ and „Brassemeer” to Leiden. During the blooming period of the tulips, you will experience the beauty of the flower fields!
The worthwhile university town Leiden is today’s first stop. After a short visit, your route leads to the wonderful beach in Katwijk and across the dunes back to Alphen aan den Rijn. While you enjoy dinner onboard, the ship continues its way to Gouda, so you will have the chance to take an evening walk through the famous “Town of Cheese”.
Boattrip to Rotterdam. A highlight of the trip is the famous chinaware factory in Delft. After a nice stop there, you will continue to the seat of government in Den Haag, then to Scheveningen on the North Sea and back to Rotterdam (the way back can alternatively be accomplished by train).
Today the occasions to take beautiful pictures will heap up! You will bike to Kinderdijk where 19 windmills are lined up in a row (UNESCO World Heritage Site). Afterwards, you will cycle to Schoonhoven.
The beautiful polder landscape takes you to Oudewater. Marvel at the former witch scale! In the afternoon, the ship takes you from Utrecht with its stunning cathedral via Amsterdam to Zaandam.
The last, but also one of the most beautiful stages lies in front of you. Your bikes take you to the picturesque village museum „Zaanse Schans“, where mustard, spices, paint and oils are still milled today. Finally, you will return to Amsterdam through the natural reserve „Het Twiske“.
Debarkation after breakfast until 10 a.m.
