3 country trip Vienna-Bratislava-Budapest.
In Vienna the Danube bike trail does not end jet, 281 kilometers lie between the Austrian and the Hungarian capital. Enjoy unspoiled nature, little-known treasures and monuments, cultural and historical sights and long-established traditions. The landscape is characterized by wide plains, untouched meadows and small farming villages. The cultural highlights include the listed Old Town of Bratislava, certainly the Basilica of Esztergom and of course the Hungarian capital Budapest. In Austria you cycle the Danube bike trail and in Hungary and Slovakia you cycle on farm roads and small country roads.

1. day  Vienna Arrival

Travel early, because Vienna is a city of infinite possibilities! Visit for example the stately Schoenbrunn Palace with its extensive grounds and allow your eyes to wander across the city skyline, visit the colourful Hundertwasser House and the Museum Quarter, which is with 60,000 m² one of the largest cultural complexes in the world.

2. day  Hainburg / Bad Deutschen-Altenburg 46 km

The Danube Bike Trail leads through riparian forests along the river, past the castle of Orth and Eckartsau to Hainburg. Enjoy the beautiful centre of the town with one of the most important preserved fortifications in Europe. Overnight stay in Hainburg / Bad Deutschen-Altenburg, where mineral springs invite to relax.

3. day  Bratislava, approx. 32 km

Idyllically situated between the Hainburger mountains and the small Carpathian meanders the blue ribbon of the Danube and with this a ideal road for cyclists. Look forward to the Slovak capital Bratislava. Let enchant you from the lively and yet sleepy town and marvel at the many magnificent buildings and the castle high above the Danube.

4. day  Gyor, 45 km + train

The island 'Sütterinsel' is a paradise for birds and fishes. In the middle of this pristine landscape of small islands you cycle to sleepy rural villages and through a maze of Danube side arms before you reach in the afternoon after a short ride Gyor with its beautiful baroque old town.

5. day  Komarom, approx. 35-45 km

Look forward to the National Stud Babolna, which is world famous for its Arabian breed. Today you cycle through undulating agricultural area to the River Danube in the Slovak/Hungarian dual city Komárom/Komárno, the favourite city of King Matthias.

6. day  Esztergom/surrounding area, approx. 58 km

Enjoy the quiet bike tail at the Nibelungen stream today. Passing the Roman fort Kelemantia you cycle through remote farming villages, where time seems to have stopped. You cycle on the beautiful causeway to the known bridge Gisela, you cross the great river and you are back in Hungary. Look forward to Esztergom, also called "Hungarian Rome", with its impressive basilica. As the largest church in Hungary it is a shining highlight of the trip.

7. day  Danube Bend/Budapest, 58 km + boat

You cycle through the picturesque landscape of the Danube Bend - an impressive river loop, trapped in steep mountains of limestone and you pass Visegrád with the remarkable Royal Palace which perched high above the Danube Bend. After 20 km of beautiful bike trail you reach the bustling artists town of Szentendre whose historical part is best explored on foot. Enjoy a boat trip to Budapest where you will explore many attractions of this cosmopolitan city.

8. day  Budapest depature

Today you travel by bus (Departure 3:30 pm) back to Vienna, or who would like already at 11.30 am (to announce when booking). Journey time about 3 hours. A special final experience is shipping by speedboat, departing every Monday and Wednesday at 9am.
