From Aigues Mortes to Avignone

MS L’Estello:
The boat (length: 39 m, width: 5,2 m) is called L'Estello, which in Provençal means star. L'Estello was built in 1937. This classic Dutch passenger barge has been converted to today's standards of comfort. Her inviting atmosphere will make you feel immediately comfortable. It has ten comfortable air-conditioned double cabins with low beds and private bathroom. The barge has got a very spacious air conditioned living room and bar area with comfortable sofas and arm chairs and a separate dining room, all with large picture windows. This room opens onto the sundeck at the bow with a fixed awning and tables and chairs.

Das gemütliche Licht durchfluteten Restaurant bietet zu den Mahlzeiten ein angenehmes Ambiente und das Sonnendeck ist mit Schatten spendender Markise ausgestattet.

MS Soleo

Auf einer Länge von 38,5 m und einer Breite von 5,10 m bietet das kleine Schiff seit 2009 insgesamt 10 Doppelkabinen und 2 Einzelkabinen. Die 7-8 m² großen Kabinen mit Bullaugen sind alle klimatisiert und verfügen über Einzelbetten (1,95 m x 0,80 m) oder Doppelbetten (1,95 m x 1,40 m), einne Schrank, hölzerne Kleiderbügel, eigenes Bad mit Bullauge, Haartrockner, Steckdose, Papiertücher, Duschgel/ Shampoo, Handtücher und Ganzkörperspiegel. Der klimatisierte Aufenthaltsraum ist komfortabel eingerichtet, daneben befindet sich ein Salon mit netter Bar.. Die insgesamt 10 Fenster lassen viel natürliches Licht einfallen. Hier finden SIe auch ein Stereo-System, iPod Dockingstation, Bücher, CDs und Internetanschluss. Das Sonnendeck mit Sitzplätzen und fester Markise läst zum Verweilen und zu schönen Stunden an Bord ein.

1. day  Aigues Mortes Arriving

2. day  Aigues Mortes round tour 45 km

First ring stage to discover the Camargue, where nature still prevails over civilization.

3. day  Aigues Mortes–Gallician 60 km

You will cycle among cane and rice fields and salt lakes, along with horses, flamingos and bulls, and you will arrive at Saintes Maries de la Mer. You will spend the night moored in the village of Gallician.

4. day  Gallician–Arles 20 km

Today you will sail to Arles, the ancient capital of Gaul with beautiful Roman ruins. You will arrive by bike to the wooden bridge, which was masterfully portrayed by the great painter Van Gogh.

5. day  Arles–Vallabreguès 60 km

This stage will brings you to the Alpilles, with the village of Le Baux de Provence, lodged in the rock itself, then to Saint Remy de Provence, birthplace of Nostradamus. This village is also famous for having hosted Van Gogh in the days of his mental illness. A landscape of limestone cliffs, lavender and olive trees will accompany the trip. In the evening you will moor in Vallabrègues, pretty village on the banks of the Rhone.

6. day  Vallabrègues–Avignon 65 km

The stage today will bring you to the best preserved Roman aqueduct in Europe: Pont du Gard, a spectacular work. In the afternoon you will arrive in Avignon, the city of the Popes. You will be moored in Villeneuve lés Avignons on the opposite bank of the Rhone.

7. day  Avignon round tour 40 km

Navigation up to Avignon, and then cycle in the direction of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, following low-traffic roads surrounded by vineyards. You will cross the Rhone at the height of Roquemaure and you will return to
Villeneuve following the course of the river.

8. day  Avignon departing

After breakfast, end of services.
