Look forward to this round trip to the most beautiful sights of northern Italy. You will always cycle between sun and sea, Alps and Adriatic Sea. Easy, flat cycling stages, the delicacies of Italian cuisine, regional specialties (pasta, grappa, prosecco), great history and pure culture guarantee a cycling tour with high pleasure. Enjoy the interesting lagoon landscape, wide sandy beaches, the foothills of the Alps and the rolling hills of the Monti Berici and the Euganean Hills. Mostly flat, you cycle along the courses of the rivers Adige, Bacchiglione and Sile and through fields and meadows on mostly asphalted, partly well-paved natural paths. Only a short steep climb to Asolo is to be mastered on this bike tour. Cultural highlights, the lagoon city of Venice, Vicenza - the city of Palladio and Bassano with its world-famous covered wooden bridge from the Middle Ages await you. In between are picturesque little villages and towns as well as many vines from which the famous Prosecco is pressed. Be inspired by this fascinating mixture of easy cycling routes, culture, local specialties and exquisite stylish hotels.

Highlights

St. Mark's Square Venice
Napoleon once described St. Mark's Square, with its marble and trachyte pavement surrounded by arcaded buildings, as the most beautiful salon in Europe.

St. Mark's Square Venice

Doge's Palace Venice
The mighty Doge's Palace, with its facade of white stone and pink marble, looks almost like a moated castle, so close does it stand to the canal.

Doge's Palace Venice

Grand Canal Venice
The Grand Canal originally served as a port canal for lagoon shipping and a waterway for transporting goods. When the port function was taken over by the San Marco basin, the upwardly mobile nobility began to build prestigious residences along the canal.

Canal Grande

Murano
Murano is the center of glass production in Venice. It is worth wandering through the alleys of the island, which offers more than just glimpses of the workshops of glass blowers.

Murano

Pellestrina
Pellestrina is a small island inhabited by fishermen, more than 10km long, like the Lido, but much narrower.

Pellestrina

Duomo di Vicenza
The Duomo of Vicenza had an early Christian predecessor building, only parts of which still exist underground.

Dom von Vicenza

Bassano del Grappa
White or aged in oak barrels, the grappa of Bassano, the result of a centuries-old tradition, is one of the most important emblems of the city.

Tour

Venice/ Mestre is easy to reach as there are 2 airports in the immediate vicinity (Venice and Treviso) and the rail connections to Venice/ Mestre are comprehensive. The starting hotel, the 4 star Parkhotel Ai Pini is certainly the best house on the mainland off Venice. The historic building is surrounded by the private park with many flowers. The Baldo family recently had the hotel carefully renovated, creating a wonderful feel-good atmosphere. Also, the hotel has free parking. If you arrive early, you will immediately take the opportunity to visit the lagoon city of Venice. In only about 20 minutes you can quickly reach the heart of the city by public transportation.

After personal tour information and bike handover in the morning, you will get on your bikes. You cycle relaxed on beautiful cycle paths over the Liberty Bridge to Venice. By bike and boat you will go to the islands of Lido and Pellestrina, which lie between the lagoon and the open sea. Look forward to Lido, Venice's 12 km long house beach! Here, at the turn of the century, Europe's haute volee met in luxury hostels, here the famous film "Death in Venice" was made and here the International Film Festival takes place every year at the beginning of September. In contrast, you will experience Pellestrina with its small, colorful wooden houses. You will enjoy the evening in the tranquil fishing town of Chioggia - Venice's little sister. A quiet town that reminds you of the Venetian rule of the sea and invites you to linger in the typical fish restaurants. Stay in style at the 4-star Hotel Grande Italia. Dating from the early 19th century, the palazzo that houses the recently extensively renovated hotel. Look forward to modern comfort in a historic ambience. You will certainly also be delighted by the location directly on the water with a view of the Venice lagoon.

Enjoy the wonderful flair of the Venetian lagoon once again before you say goodbye to the coast. Today you will cycle leisurely mainly along the ancient course of the river Bacchiglione, once an important waterway to Vizenca. The river was once navigated by cargo ships, the so-called "burci". After about 40 km you leave the small river course and cycle on small roads with little traffic through fields and meadows to the ancient spa town of Abano Terme. For over 2000 years, the spa, which today has about 20,000 inhabitants, has been a highly valued vacation destination because of its thermal waters. Abano Terme is the most important and oldest thermal center in Europe and is charmingly situated at the foot of the Euganean Hills. You will stay here at the 5-star Hotel Terme Bristol Buja, which has been lovingly run by the same family for three generations now as a thermal hotel in the center of Abano Terme. Look forward to three thermal pools in the large park and a luxurious wellness area.

You will cycle flat and leisurely and after about 11 km in San Marco you will once again meet your companion, the little river Bacchiglione, which you can follow to Vicenza. Through fertile fields and many small villages you roll along the foot of the Berici mountains. Via Costozza, today's bike path takes you past Palladio's Villa Rotonda and Villa Valmarana ai Nani, with magnificent frescoes by Tiepolo, to the heart of Vicenza. Renaissance architect Andrea Palladio left his mark on this beautiful city, creating grandiose buildings that are still destinations for visitors from Italy and abroad. Look forward to a stroll through the city, which has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1994. You will stay in style at the 4-star Hotel Campo Marzio. This elegant and newly renovated hotel is located directly on the city walls and thus offers an ideal starting point to discover Vicenza's many sights. And in the evening, beautiful rooms and particularly attentive staff ensure a comfortable stay.

It is hard to say goodbye to the beautiful center of Vicenza. With the wind at your back and the sun in your hair, you will cycle along beautiful cycle paths towards a famous destination. On the way, discover Marostica with its castle worth seeing and the stone chessboard on the main square. Look forward to your overnight stay in Bassano del Grappa, where southern flair meets the austere charm of the Alpine foothills. Since the 18th century, Bassano del Grappa has been distilling grappa, famous all over the world, and producing the most beautiful majolica products. And the best: in the Poli Grappa Museum a tasting is prepared for you! Stay in style at the 4-star Hotel Villa Ca` Sette in a Venetian villa from the 18th century, which was converted into a charming hotel only in 2000.

In the morning there are a few small hills to master today and the only longer climb of the tour to Asolo. Look forward to this idyllic village of Roman origin, it is one of the most beautiful places in the Veneto with magnificent palazzi and town houses from the Middle Ages, the Renaissance and the Baroque. Take a well-deserved break and marvel at Villa Barbaro - arguably Palladio's most magnificent villa. Then roll gently downhill into the growing area of the world-famous Prosecco and on to Treviso with its many sights and endless canals. Visit the imposing neoclassical cathedral and enjoy the wonderful atmosphere in the Piazza dei Signori, a cozy square with many inviting cafes and small stores. You still have about 2 km to cycle to the privately run 4-star Hotel Villa Pace Parkhotel Bolognese just outside Treviso. The historic villa dates back to the 19th century and has been modernly expanded in recent years. The new wellness area with its pool provides cooling, the whirlpool, Turkish bath and sauna provide pure relaxation. In the evening you can enjoy Venetian specialties in the hotel's restaurant.

You will cycle leisurely along the cycle path along the small river Sille. Have your camera ready here, because you will discover half-sunken wooden wrecks of the Burci boats. An impressive sight in untouched nature! Early in the morning you will be back at the 4-star Parkhotel ai Pini in Mestre, so that you still have enough time for a Venice excursion (approx. 10 minutes by train). Look forward to it, because at the end of your trip a small grappa tasting is organized not far from St. Mark's Square!

Today after breakfast your wonderful bike tour ends in Venice/ Mestre at the hotel.
